Stayed one night. Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Man at the front counter on check-in, spoke very fast.. But was most helpful..

Good location, friendly staffing and nice, clean and simple room. Beds were great - often too soft in hotels but these were just right.. I'm beginning to sound like goldilocks.. late checkout was welcomed also. Will be back.

Easy stay and good value for money, even with two rooms booked, when staying in Sydney. We made our way to the Cronulla beach from here and walked out to dinner with heaps of options.

We booked a balcony room for three nights in early June.

You stay here at your peril and a danger to your health.

BLACK MOULD IN THE SHOWER
There are major health issues due to the presence of black mould in the bathroom, on the shower surrounds, inside the shower handle door and in several places on the door frame and tile grouting.

The only ventilation in the bathroom itself was a small, damaged and clogged wall vent. .No exhaust fan

The bathroom ceiling panels were also poorly fitted leaving gaps into the void above the ceiling. The supporting frames were rusting. What might be growing on the other side of the panels is anyone's guess.

INADEQUATE ROOM VENTILATION
Although we booked a 'Balcony Room', to door to the balcony was locked and bolted and a sign on the only window stated that it was broken and should not be opened.

Therefore we had to use the wall-mounted air conditioning system for ventilation.

DAMAGED FITTINGS
The TV antenna cable was just slung over the back of the wall mount and not connected to the antenna outlet. Investigation revealed that a fitting had broken inside the wall mount.

The TV could not therefore be used continuously as the coaxial cable itself was acting as the antenna.

PALTRY SUPPLIES
Only one small cake of soap for the shower was supplied.

LACK OF INFORMATION
No information folder re facilities and services etc outside of the venue was supplied.

FUNDS DRAWN IN ADVANCE RATHER THAN AT THE END OF OUR STAY
The full tariff for 3 nights ($522.90) was deducted from my account 5 days PRIOR to our arrival. Unlike common industry practice of paying the amount either on arrival or on leaving.

This caused some other periodical payments to be denied due to 'Insufficient Funds' ...a most embarrassing position.

CANCELLING OUR 3 DAY STAY
As we arrived late on Sunday afternoon, we had no choice other than to say one night, despite all the issues.

CANCELLING THE BOOKING
'First thing' on the morning following our arrival I approached the Duty Manager (Tara) expressing our concerns and dissatisfaction at the condition of the room and the quality of the facility in general.

I also stated that we would be checking out immediately and required a refund due to the issues raised, particularly the presence of black mould and the totally inadequate ventilation.

She, without hesitation and with a great deal of professionalism, accepted my concerns and arranged the cancellation and offered a full refund for all three nights.

This refund was duly processed and received 'in full' in the last 48 hours.

BELOW EVEN 3 STAR
I cannot recall in my over 40 years of business and personal travel across Australia ever encountering an establishment of such poor quality and presentation.

Neglect of the premises and facilities and lack of duty of care by Senor Management of the venue and the owners of the Metro Chain were patently obvious

The only bright star in the entire negative experience, was the absolute professionalism and pleasantness of Tara the Duty Manager in dealing with my situation.

We wont be back...and you shouldn't even contemplate making a booking if you value your health!

The hotel is a short walk from the train station. Upon arrival, it is not possible to take the lift from street level to the lobby/ reception. So you must walk up the driveway with your luggage- not friendly for seniors or less able people. The driveway has no pedestrian area, has traffic going both ways, and a blind corner so it is dangerous for pedestrians.
The room is clean and well appointed with a small fridge, microwave, dishes and cutlery, etc. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom is an older renovation, the toilet is stained, chrome coming off the sink fitting.

We were in Sydney recently & stayed at Metro Miranda. From the time of booking our room to the time of departure we found ALL staff, from reception to housekeeping, friendly & helpful. Nothing was a bother to them. Our room was spacious, very clean & had everything we needed.
I recommend anyone needing to stay in the southern part of Sydney to choose Metro. It is also very close to Miranda shopping mall & numerous restaurants.

Accidental charge of 10x the amount of the stay. Staff had admitted the error, but had little empathy for the personal impact and we were made to wait over 12hrs for information on how this matter was going to be resolved. Avoid at all cost.

01 Mar (3 days since first post). Still no money in our account; contrary to the below statement from the manager.

Great location. Hotel has own parking with enough space, rooms are clean, downstairs there is a cafe and gym, shopping centre across the road, 10min drive to the beach. I recommend.

Although clean I felt like I was in the middle of a renovation, patchy paint, missing cornices, disgusting balconies all covered with green moss. Carpet was new, lift always clean, house keeping you could tell when the one who did it cared from day to day, very accommodating when we wanted to extend our stay which we appreciated. Beds comfortable and bedding like new. Price reasonable.

Overnight stay only, room was upgraded free of charge. Location right beside Westfield Shopping Centre was very handy. Standard hotel rates.

Whilst the reception staff was pleasant, we were disappointed after that. The lift was musty. The room in the photos must be another hotel, I literally thought we were in the wrong place. There was rusty water on the basin, the suspended ceiling of the bathroom was rusty. The room was musty. The bed however, was made well. We checked out within minutes.

The hotel entrance is up a couple of ramps, as the ground floor lift can't be accessed before you check in and have a key. The condition of the exterior, lift doors, common areas, combined with a lingering musty smell in hallways gives this hotel an unpleasant atmosphere. The room itself was clean, the bed and pillows were acceptable. Having no power points next to the bed was inconvenient. There were tea/ coffee supplies in the room but no teaspoons ???" The bathroom vanity has zero space to put a wet pack, and the bathroom is very tired. The location is convenient to shopping and restaurants.

Centrally located in the Sutherland Shire, this a a very affordable place to stay when visiting our family.
Nice and handy to restaurant retail outlets is a plus.
Admittedly the rooms are dated, however I understand there is a renovation programme underway and this will lift the standard.

Stay here every week for work. What you would expect for a motel closer to the city. The prices of stay vary from week to week which is a bit inconsistent. It's a motel not the stockexchange.

I have been recommending the hotel to family and friends.
Overall I was very satisfied and will definitely stay there again.

This hotel is NOT a hotel, so many broken things in the room aswell as well an extremely low cleaning standard, I should have taken a photo of the shower but the tiles were covered in black mould. I don't know how they get away with charging $200+ a night but we got stooped.

There was rarely any parking while I stayed there

I am legally blind and use a Guide Dog for mobility. I found the staff to be incredible accommodating and understanding of both mine and the dogs requirements. They put us in a room attached to a large balcony and there were no difficulties with checking in and out. Very much exceeded my expectations.

Great location, room bathrooms need exhaust fans installed and mold removal, depending on machine prices a joke, good for th price, could be far better

Room was clean, bathroom average , lift facilities needed attention, location was good for me, check-in staff were friendly . They took a $250 bond from me even though I had prepaid for the room . Tried to checkout at 7.15 am but no one on reception and no notices to advise when reception would be open. The information sheet given to me on checkin states reception open at 7am. Took them 4 days to return the $250 bond and I have still had no communication from anyone to apologise.

All in all not a bad stay and staff were friendly enough, but I could hear my neighbours being intimate through the walls, and housekeeping didn't take or replace my used plates and cutlery. I even came back one day with the bed made but a pillow was left under the sheets (just a bit strange). Upon leaving I found a scratch on my car and was disappointed to find out there is no security footage in the car park I was in. Would stay again, but not in a hurry.

My daughter and I stayed here for 3 nights and we were very happy with the room and service provided by front desk staff..

Visiting for some work at the local marina and needed a place that was clean and tidy. Only $100 a night. Parking is great. Rooms clean and tidy so was perfect for a quick business trip.

Room was well presented. Clean and tidy. Close by to alot of places that are walking distance. Parking is off street but needs to be better shown as it is a little difficult to park.

If youre wanting to stay in a nice room dont book this hotel, we found a cockroach in our bed, there was black mould in the shower, the bathroom cupboards hadnt been cleaned, our mirror in the room had cracks at the bottom of it and to top it all off the remote for the Tv in the room had no backing on it and was held together by sticky tape. We explained this to Tara at reception and she was lovely and offered for us to upgrade but we declined. Book at your own risk*RESPONSE to the reply of the owners* a refund was not given straight away, we have to chase this up with the website that the booking was made though.

Best value hotel with exceprional inclusive values. Staff are amazing and so friendly. I recommend staying here when next visiting Sydney

Lovely and clean very nice stay. Employees where very helpful we only stayed one night and found it very comfortable.

It had everything we needed at a price we could afford, thankfully - and wow! So close to Westfield, the trains and Centenary Park! Even walking distance to the hospitals
