My friends and I stopped by the Mermaid Beach Tavern straight after our flight to the Gold Coast landed. We weren't initially impressed by the downstairs bar and gaming room when we came in through the side entrance, but the upstairs area is beautifully designed and very spacious. I particularly liked the greenery, both real and fake, in the dining areas and the steam punk style light fixtures in the bar area. The Tavern serves regular pub fare as well as pizzas, burgers, pasta and grill. We ordered off the $18 lunch specials list, which turned out to be good value. The crispy skin salmon bowl and the pork and fennel bangers and mash were good and the service was pretty quick.

Such a beautiful spot to enjoy dinner with the family not overly loud and kid friendly. Food was amazing ??'? and service was quick. Staff were polite and very happy to serve. Bar staff were top notch ??'?.

Also located next to a mini putt place, where you can play a round with the kids and then enjoy a meal together after with a discounted dinner menu.

I have visited Mermaid Beach Tavern twice now for lunch and really enjoyed both the food and atmosphere.

The menu has great options and the meals are served relatively quick. They have daily meal specials, as well as a joint deal with Putt Putt next door for a discounted meal.

The bistro feels clean and well lit, with open air and greenery all around. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and will return again.

Extensive meal options, suitable sized meals for kids including an ice cream and kids activity bag, perfect for younger kids. For the older kids, over 12 years should probably consider the main sized meals. The kids' play area doesn't have play equipment, only some vending claw machines and toy machines, and dress ups, but they do have gaming machines. Beautiful venue, modern and suitable for locals and tourists. Great option for families.

What a pleasant surprise! Loved the ambient atmosphere and open air green spaces! Food was delish! Great place!

Kids meals are very small, which wasn't great for my big eaters, although 1 child ordered a full pizza, and loved it. Other meals were great. We had a last minute team dinner and thoroughly enjoyed the evening.

So unbelievably loud, not child friendly. Far too many areas with sports TVs and gambling. Very basic menu choices. We decided to leave 10 minutes after arriving for an early dinner. The place looks stunning but nothing else going for it unfortunately, we were so upset we had to leave as it was a family catch up dinner for us. Such a shame it's full of sports and gambling...

Good food and excellent service. Mermaid Beach Tavern offers some fabulous deals on meals that make going out for the night great value. Decor also lovely and there is always plenty of parking available.

Good place, seemed very quiet and a lot of the plants looked very dead which wasn't that appealing. The salt and pepper calamari was good, and it's nice that they do a deal with the putt putt next door but the putt putt menu could use a couple more dishes to mix it up a little. All up I'd probably return if I was nearby.

Food was good, the drinks were good, the kids area was pretty lame.

Chose here because we have kids. Food was lovely, staff were great. Kids room a little bit of a let down. There was a PlayStation and a tv and some dress up stuff, but everything else wanted coins to play. Chuck in an indoor slide or something and this would be brilliant. Otherwise top place!

We went on Monday and they have 241 in all the meals is a really good deal! For lunch and dinner. We order the fish & chips and the schnitzel with the creamy sauce. Another day the butter chicken burger, club sandwich. Always everything is amaaaaazing! 🤩. We gonna go back for sure.

2nd night into our holiday to the Gold Coast we thought to check out this pub as it was only 10 minute walk from where we were staying. We made a reservation online for my wife and 2 year old. We selected low seating as my daughter is unable to sit on a barstool.

Once we arrived we weren't greeted, I went to the bar to ask about our reservation, we were then told to go to the desk where you order your meal to find out where our table is. After waiting we got pointed 'over there, a table with your name on it' only to find a high table with barstools.

The meal was given 5/10, taste was good but when ordering a schnitzel without salad and extra chips was very disappointing. The schnitzel was tiny and came with a hardly any chips. I questioned the staff on the extra chips I ordered, thankfully the kitchen staff put another handful on the plate.

Overall nice modern venue, poor hospitality.
Hope they can improve in 2023

Enjoyable meal in a nice surroundings...the chicken schnitzel with the garlic and mushroom sauce was one of the best I've ever had.....not quite 5 stars as no table service, but that would not stop me returning

First time visiting. Loved the food, huge servings and the atmosphere was so welcoming and happy. We will be back. Staff super friendly and the decor was also super lovely. Will bring our friends and family to here.

Place looks great make over is awesome, food looks and tastes great and reasonably priced also Sunday session music with Rick Barron was great. Definitely be back

A gaming room, sports bar, clean toilets (you may even spot the local kookaburra) hanging around.
Look up while standing at the bar and on a sunny day the roof will be open.
VERY comfortable bar stools in the dining area.
The food is delicious and they have wine on tap.
We were warmly greeted by Shainey who was amazing. Knowledgeable, friendly and extremely accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble.
Highly recommended and we have already been back after our first visit and will be back again!
