The highlight of Friday night was the "Mighty Reapers." Dave Brewer the guitarist! Thank you to the M. Bowlo for the foresight to put this group on.
Facilities were good. Lots of space, good large easy access bar. Outside seating allowed old folks like me to rest their ears and chat between sets.

Excellent place to see bands with good beer but the food was a let down. Had the rump which was cooked well but chewy. Chips were oily and average and salad was a few leaves. No seasoning what's so ever on anything. Is this a Sydney thing to not use salt and pepper?

Good spot for some bowls and drinks. Food was tasty. Got quite busy late in the afternoon on a Saturday with lots of young people having a few drinks before heading out for the night I guess. Staff were friendly and very helpful.

First time visit to Marrickville Bowlo it has its old school charm while being a little rough around the edges. $6.50 for schooner of Bulmers Cider was excellent value.

The bistro had surprisingly run out of Bangers and Mash, so we both had Chicken Schnitties with chips and salad ($22). Chicken schnitzel was delicious, large portion and perfectly cooked. Chips were a strange yellow colour probably from the oil. Salad was mixed leaf with one piece of tomato and only a small amount of vinaigrette that hadn't been fully tossed through. Mushroom gravy was nice but regular brown gravy was very watery. Food service was pretty fast.

Minus a star for the nasty long black hair that was in the bottom of my iced water and the lounge chairs are incredibly dangerous. The legs are bent and not all touching the ground. My dad almost hit the deck. Lawsuit waiting to happen, pls fix!

Great music venue, bring ear plugs. Nepalese food options fabulous too. Cockney Rejects were great too

Great place for a relaxed catch up with friends. Outside eating/drinking area is perfect for those beautiful Sydney days and keys not forget the Friday night/Sunday afternoon near raffles! There are two greens if you're into bowling and the staff are lovely, whether you're an amateur, barefoot bowler or fully kitted professional.

Great club, good selection of food on the menu, , all the food we had was great and will visit again. Was lucky enough to win the meat raffle as well.

This club is awesome ??'?. Note that you will need to either get a membership, be a local resident or have someone with a membership to sign you in. We had our discipline function organized at this venue. It was fun and the food was nice. Definitely recommend!

There was a band there which has a name I'm pretty sure is already taken, Stefan. Their backup name was a bit offensive because it only represented two of the five people in the band; but they sounded good. The singer got me up on stage and kissed me, there's photos of it everywhere now I'm a bit embarrassed. The band included Hixy Anger, a car door, a professional wrestler, the singer who kissed me, and me.

PS We left our meat trays there can I still pick them up?

One of the few still active local bowling clubs around with VERY passionate members.
Live local bands area with a good size solid stage on south wall, not the silly little pop up in corner some places have.
Great bistro in back left corner behind stage, be patient with the buzzer, good food takes time to prep. (try the chicken parmy).
A minimal poker machine area (a good thing).

Respect the rules of a bowlo.
1. Dont step on the green unless you are bowling. Even to take a short cut.
2. Have a good time.

This is a mix of hipsters & mature generation folk enjoying a good time. Worth checking out.

Food was pricey for a club meal but was very nice and the cheese garlic bread was superb.

Worst experience with the staff. The environment was good and we were enjoying the music but some guy at the bar kicked us without a reasonable justification. His only justification was "I'm the owner and I decide who is in the Club" We payed tickets for a show that we couldn't enjoy. There was no chance to talk to anybody for a justification on why we had lo leave. We were not drunk and we were not doing anything wrong. There were people that were actually drunk and they didn't have to leave as we did. As stated before, no one give us a reasonable justification.

Spent money on an Uber to go go 40 minutes to this place in order to support a friend's band with some friends visiting from out of country. Paid for tickets. Paid for and drank five schooners quietly at our table over two hours. I got up to use the bathroom and after I finished I came out to be confronted by security and I was told I had to leave the premises. I thought it was a mistake or misunderstanding, and when I asked what was the matter was, I was told that I was "too drunk" and had to leave. I was physically escorted out of the venue without further explanation.

A Marrickville gem. Actually, don't come here, we want it for ourselves. No frills, no pretensions. Tap beer, bowls, and often good gigs.

Great old establishment. Staff very friendly. Food very nice and big servings, well priced.... They looked after us for a work doo for the Barefoot bowls. Great afternoon had by all of us.

Great place for lawn bowls, the brisket sandwich is delicious (if a bit on the small side).

Definitely one of the best licensed venues in Marrickville, with the nicest outdoor area and greenspace in what can otherwise feel like a very cramped and crowded urban locality. I've met some of the loveliest people here over the years, from all walks of life and both young and old. Please support your local bowlo and live music venue. Sydney can't afford to lose any more.

Still one of Sydneys best classic live venues

Fantastic mix of people. All ages, vibrant positive atmosphere. Lovely friendly attentive staff. Highly recommended.

The bowlo is the bomb. Disco ceiling, lots of outdoor seating, pretty good prices and heaps of music gigs. Food isn't half bad either! Good vibes!!
