Attended a Baby Shower luncheon on Saturday and the venue space was extremely warm and inviting.Great decor and atmosphere. The expectant mother did a phenomenal job on the decorations for her event and the guests were extremely impressed. What was meant to be a joyous and stress-free occasion, turned out to be quite a terrible dining experience. Understandably during the covid restrictions, many pleasures were unable to be experienced to their fullest, however, food should not have been one of them. Each guest received a plate with what was suppose to be hot and cold canapes. The slice of nori roll was so dry that the seaweed encasing the rice cracked into pieces when bitten. Seemed like it had been prepared hours before and left uncovered. The chicken skewer was cold and dry, the felafel was hard and dry...virtually inedible. This was not just my experience however, other guests at our table of 10 had the same complaints. I raised this issue with the sister of the mother-to-be and she felt so embarrassed, and went to see the manager to complain. Covid Pandemic or not, in-house caterers or sub-contractors...the freshness and quality of the food should not have been compromised...NO EXECUSES...!!! The embarrassed mother-to-be could not appoligise enough for the poor quality of food. If this is any indication of the quality of food served at this club...then myself and many others who attended as guests, will not be returning, nor consider this venue for any of our upcoming functions. I do hope the mother-to-be seeks some kind of reimbursements from the club for the poor food experience, and the club obliges.
