It's come a long way from the dated pub on the hill in the 90's, though I love that the sports bar still had that old pub vibe, and the pool table was fun. I recently spent a couple days in Husky and tried a few of the meals. The food quality had some hits and some misses. Ribs were great, but very small for a $39 price tag, the slaw wasn't great, kids meals great portions. Delicious chips. The calamari was a little chewy and stringy, but was excellent in the Pavilion. The pub food was probably more 2-3 stars.. But the staff were great, the location and view excellent.
The food in the Pavilion was actually significantly better and worth the slightly higher price tag! The steak was well rested and tasted amazing, octopus was fantastic. Grilled prawns were tasty. I would have liked to have tried one of their cocktails, but they stopped serving those at 8.30pm on a Friday night, so we missed out. A little warning of this, on the menu or by the staff, would have been great, as we were looking forward to try one after dinner.
But overall I enjoyed the experience and would happily go back.
