I remember this location from 10 years ago when it had more of a rock vibe, more relaxed. Now, they are forcing an elegance into the space, a seemingly high level, which it definitely is not.
Staff response: Initially, very friendly and accommodating. However, when we ordered drinks, we waited at least 20 minutes for service, even though the place was nowhere near full. When we ordered a second round, we again waited endlessly. Meanwhile, two bartenders were just standing at the bar, chatting.
I do not recommend.

Absolutely loved this place, the music was great and the service was impeccable. Met this lovely bar back named enzo who made our night, super friendly and helpful and quite the comedian. The venue was clean and lively, I will be coming back!!

Great location and live music but some of the cocktails are an absolute scam. We were charged $37.50 for a spritz that consisted of a 125ml serve of fizzy wine, topped up with ice an orange slice and soda water.... Felt like an absolute rip off being charged that much for a watered down wine

My husband and I were on a private tour of Sydney and we stopped in Bondi Beach for lunch. Our tour guide recommended Hotel Ravesis for lunch. It was busy since it was a warm, beautiful Sunday. We didn't have a reservation but the manager was very kind and made every effort to get us a table on the balcony. The food was delicious and my husband enjoyed any local beer. I had the chicken skewers and he had the fish and chips. He said it was the best fish and chips he's ever had!
We found ourselves in Bondi Beach again last night but this time with friends. We mentioned having a great experience for lunch at Hotel Ravesis and our friends wanted to try it. We were once again greeted by the same friendly manager who managed to get us a table for 6 on the balcony. We failed to get his name both times but he was incredibly accommodating despite not having reservations and made us all feel very welcomed! All of us enjoyed our food. We tried the kangaroo skewers, burrata, hummus, fish and chips, chicken skewers, the kingfish, crab pasta, and lots of drinks. Everyone enjoyed their food and those who ordered fish and chips said it too was the best fish and chips they ever had! The wait staff was very friendly, accommodating, attentive, and fast with everything. I highly recommend Hotel Ravesis for lunch, dinner, or drinks. I would also recommend having a reservation as both times it was very busy and I know we got very luck to get in!

Cockroaches in the room and the staff did not even care or offer any resolution other than a free drink card that only covered the cost of the bottom shelf liquor. When we mentioned the cockroaches the staff told us "oh ok well they are common in this part of Sydney". When we checked in, the couch in the lobby was roped off because someone in the bar area had thrown up all over it. Save your money and stay somewhere else. A real disgrace. Location is the only good aspect of the hotel. We also ran into another guest in the hotel in the elevator and they told us they found a clump of hair in their bed when they checked in and were also offered no resolution.

The food was absolutely delicious!!! Such great flavours and delectable fusion of great produce and imagination.

During a recent visit to your establishment, my wife, who is presently pregnant and dealing with anemia, brought food from outside due to her specific dietary requirements. We also had ordered food from your restaurant. The staff member we interacted with, a lady in black, informed us that our outside food was not permissible. While we understand the necessity of such a policy, we felt the manner in which it was communicated was far from gracious. Sarcasm and the words "Get out" were used. We were unaware of this rule, but a gentle and considerate clarification would have sufficed.

Furthermore, this same individual made us feel rather unwelcome by removing our cutlery while we were still awaiting our order. It's these small acts that impact the overall dining experience significantly. Even more disconcerting, the staff member and a waiter appeared to share a private joke at our expense once they had moved away from our table. The whole situation created an uncomfortable atmosphere that seemed discriminatory in nature, perhaps related to our Asian heritage.

We understand that maintaining a comfortable environment for all guests is likely a priority for your establishment. Therefore, we hope you take our experience into account for future staff training and hospitality guidelines, ensuring no other customer experiences a similar disappointment.

EDIT: The manager on Duty told us one single time. We did not ignore her.

Went here for dinner. Location was beautiful across from the beach. Food was delicious except for the cocktails and the waiter Kelly. Kelly seems like she hates her job. She was very racist and sassy towards us. Told us to leave when there were other people around, kelly just wanted to home. Kelly killed our whole vibe that afternoon.

The staff and venue are lovely but our food was slow to come out, came out in a random order and was either dry or too greasy. The presentation of the food isn't very nice either. Overall wouldn't recommend or return

Had such a wonderful dining experience. Our waitress Kelly was really professional and the chef's cooking (thank you Omar) was exceptional. Would recommend to everyone!

Dining here was exceptional. Came for lunch on a Monday afternoon. Great view of the beach / ocean. Not too busy but great vibe, including music. Staff was helpful and friendly. Ordered crab pasta, kangaroo skewers and octopus skewers, all phenomenal, and not too filling. Drinks included "the altitude" and "hush" - made well. Would recommend to all tourists and locals.

Just look at the picture. $22 for these lousy, chewy, bland, low quality calamari. $22! And a side of an old piece of lemon. My god, the standards have dropped here. To top it all off, right after I paid for what I ordered and started to walk towards the exit (paid $70 for two drinks and these awful calamari), a waitress starts running towards me claiming I didn't pay - which is ridiculous as I showed her the transaction on my phone and I paid right in front of her colleague (could have asked him first before chasing customers down the stairs accusing them of not having paid). In short, bad experience, poor service, overpriced and bad quality food.

I've really enjoyed having a cold one with calamari, French fries and fried broccoli. You can feel the beach vibe inside the bar. It's worth walking in.

I didn't expect the food to be this refined. I liked the way calamari was cut, and fried broccoli(not everyone's favourite veggie) surprised me. Sea salt and olive oil took this dish to another level.

You can see the beach goers walking past and can really feel the beach holiday vibe inside.

Staff definitely can be more friendly which seems to be causing some issues for this joint.

Other than that it's a really good place to relax.

For these reasons I give this place 4 bears.

I have seated here for less than an hour and the waitress came to us 3 times and asking us whether wants to order more and even worst the third time she came to us and telling us that they are busy and wanna get our bill soon. We did order our main course and drinks and izzit too much to sit for an hour? Bad experience and not recommended to come here even tho the food is okay!

The hotel is in an excellent location. The ocean view is breathtaking and there are plenty of restaurants, shops, and convenience stores within walking distance (a few blocks). The bar on the ground floor has live music and energetic atmosphere. I was glad that as it approached midnight I could no longer hear the music and fell asleep easily. Room 16 is a split level room with the bathroom on the bottom floor and the living area (kitchenette, desk, living room, and bedroom) on the upper floor. The balcony has a side view of the beach & ocean, I was disappointed by the wall blocking the view but glad they thought to add the window. It could be difficult to get in touch with reception in the late hours as the staff is limited and they may already be occupied, but they are friendly and helpful. If I ever visit Bondi Beach again, I'd definitely stay at an Oceanfront room at Hotel Ravesis with plans to stay up until midnight listening to music.

If one more waiter/bartender serves up my drink with their fingers clawed over the rim of my glass I will just lose my sh%t. They did it 3 times. I dont know where your filthy hands have been and I have to drink from that glass. (Not the only bar in town doing this I should add for fairness)
Otherwise most of the dishes were great with a couple of average exceptions (crab pasta and chicken kebab) and a very relaxed location upstairs. Food service was great!

After several attempts trying to explain to our young inexperienced waiter who had obvious difficulty understanding English we ordered a carafe of cranberry ginger beer for $44. It was so full of ice that any taste of vodka was completely diluted. A real rip off.
The food menu is overpriced bar food made to sound fancy. It was pretty damn ordinary.
The wooden chairs were extremely uncomfortable. Looking at the people eating and drinking, it only goes to show what low expectations people are prepared to pay for.
Ravesi's years ago had an excellent reputation for its food. No more. About the only thing remotely pleasant is the view of the outside traffic with glimpses of the beach. This place could be so much better. Very disappointing for such an iconic location.

Went on Thursday night to catch up with a few friends. Staff were amazing. Easy going atmosphere and the vibe was fantastic. It wasn't too loud and we had a great time. It's a great place and you get to meet lots of people. Would probably go more often. One of the best places to go in Bondi.

Huge rooms with lots of space. If you can't sleep through noise, I'd recommend bringing earplugs but can't fault this as we were advised beforehand. Wish the weather was better so we could enjoy the balcony.

I have coeliac disease and eat here regularly with a friend who is vegetarian. The kitchen team are allergy aware and accommodating and the wait staff are mindful too. It's the only place in the in the Bondi are I feel safe eating. Service is prompt and attentive most of the time and always friendly. Bondi is a transient suburb and although there are often new faces behind the bar, a high standard of service is maintained and there seems to be a consistent positive work culture.

5-star dining experience!

Travelling for work, we stopped by the hotel for a bite to eat., We were warmly welcomed by Shimon at the bar, a fellow Canadian lad. This is why I love meeting Canadians abroad, so friendly and made us feel right at home! He recommended some incredible appetizers. Service was quick and the waiters were friendly. The location is wonderful and the venue is multi-floored and decently large. We stayed for a drink after dinner and they had some great artists in the evening, can't wait to go back on our next journey and highly recommend to others there now.!!

Very nice food and great setting on the Bondi beach strip. The restaurant 1st floor balcony is well worth it. The unfortunate part is they charged 1.5% for a debit card we used! Almost all good restaurants do not charge any fee unless its Amex which is clearly advertised on the menu, this restaurant does not advertise card surcharge fir card use until the bill arrives which it is already added.

Been visiting Ravesis for over 15 years. Nothing better than sitting outside on the balcony enjoying the view, people , drinks and food. Latest incarnation of the menu is excellent. Ravesis never fails to disappoint, keep up the good work.

Amazing food we had almost everything on the menu and we were very happy with each dish. My girlfriend loved her margarita. The market fish and the crab pasta were stand-outs.

Great bar for groups where you just want some casual drinks and nibbles. The view over Bondi beach is amazing (especially during sunset) and the vintage decor is stunning. The dips and bread were good starters, however the cheeseboard was really lacking the "wow factor" for the price we paid. However I will love to come back here for the service and the overall vibe!

I stayed at Hotel Ravesis for 2 nights in their Beach view terrace suite with two girlfriends and we absolutely loved our stay! The sun terrace was perfect for afternoon hangouts, the bathroom is super spacious and the overall interior and atmosphere is amazing! Make sure to have drinks at the hotel bar overlooking Bondi Beach (and skip the queue as a hotel guest!) We can't wait to be back!

We had the best stay at the Ravesis right in the heart of Bondi - we were lucky to have the suite with a terrace overlooking the beautiful beach.
The rooms are nicely decorations and very spacious, and the beds very comfortable.

Definitely recommend having a drink at the restaurant for sunset - the cocktails are amazing and the food was delicious (try the cucumber tomato feta salad!!) YUM!
The staff was super friendly and we felt very welcome and would definitely book another stay very soon.

Fantastic service.. first pic is from room 5 window the next across the street from the hotel... room was very clean and has all that you need... no use ports for charging devices so make sure you have your Power pack.. a great bar on a few levels and the beach a stones throw away... you can't go wrong here...

Went there on a Saturday night (Didn't have a booking, just walked in). There was a queue to get in, but it had a good vibe! The upstairs closes earlier, so there is little hope getting in later on in the night. There was live music and a little bit of dacing. And if you're going back into the city, the bus stop is across the road, and busses run late into the night.Definitely going back there again!

Great place to spend time during weekend. Book your spot by appointment to enjoy beach view. Highly recommend to beach lovers.

Great bar and restaurant. No Longer fine dining now well priced food and drinks. My favourite spot to spend a few hours in Bondi.
