came in for lunch today & they were pretty busy, i didn\'t have a reservation (8 people) but Rebecca & Oly were more than accommodating! Food was amazing & arrived promptly! Jai & Daren behind the bar were a great vibe! Check the Allen out if you haven\'t already!

This pub has had a wonderful renovation and now has a great vibe and atmosphere. family friendly with a kids gaming room and playground. Food is cooked beautiful and large tasty meals. Staff are wonderful, and very helpful. We did have a delay on our meals but being that it was extremely busy and first week of reopening it is probably expected. the app system was playing up also, once we told them we had been waiting an hour, we had complementary drinks and meals were out not to long after. We had been back 3 days later and app working great meals on time and food and service still just as great. 🙂

We had dinner on the reopening day of the hotel Allen 25/05/2026. The newly renovated venue looks 100% better than how I remembered it, it's definitely a step in the right direction for this Townsville iconic hotel. Our food was great and came out fast, Staff seemed very friendly.
We will definitely be back again in future.

First time seeing the Allen since the revamp. Dale, Rebecca and team have a wonderful venue. Meals were crazy large in serving size. Kangaroo carpaccio was something different and was really nice. The aranchini were actually delicious and the right balance of flavour, texture and warmth. I am not sure if the chips are hand cut but they were different and very welcomed. Quick service given the volume of people in the venue. Drinks were delicious and staff were very attentive. We tried several cocktails and they were all under the $20, good serving sizes and can actually taste the alcohol (unlike other local venues). The place looks great and has a warm and welcoming feeling. I can\'t believe the size of the venue. Deffinately a 180 return from the venue that sat there 2 years ago. Will definately be back very soon. Thanks for a great lunch Bec & Dale.

Ordered a Steak and the Date Tart.
The steak was perfect, and I had to try the Wattleseed Gravy. It was tasty and different and I would order it again. The chips were slightly undercooked.

The Date Tart was really yummy. Would 100% recommend it. I will say the base was a little tough to cut with a spoon, so I had to use a knife.

The service was great, really personable and friendly. I didn\'t receive a spoon with my dessert, but a server quickly noticed this and corrected the mistake.
The air con was a bit too cold for my liking, wish I brought a jacket.
