We stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment for the weekend as we were going on a balloon ride, very exciting! The apartment was great, well set up with kitchen, separate bedrooms each with en-suite bathrooms, one even had a big bath! In the lounge was a wood fire heater with a big pile of wood ready to go. It was lovely sitting around the fire, all cosy and having a wine. We had a few drinks at Harrigan's which was lovely, there are a lot of choices of where you want to sit as there are many zones to choose from both indoors and outdoors. We have eaten here in the past and was good pub grub, in particular the pies if they are on the menu.

We went for lunch Easter Saturday. We were quickly seated without a booking. The Duck Maryland was delicious, the Margarita Pizza needed some work.
They have a great range of drinks on tap. Well worth the visit.

Warning! If you are planning to visit any wineries or the Hunter Valley Gardens from
here, beware that everything closes at 4-5pm. This came very surprising and unpleasant for us, as we are used to long opening hours from Czech Republic.

Now about Harrigan's.
The rooms are a bit old and dull, nothing special and not very homey. But it was clean and fine for one night. The beds are very soft and not good for the back. Nice to have a little terrace to sit on and watch some native wildlife hopping by (Rabbits and kangaroos).
The check in is about 1.5km eastwards at another hotel's reception, which meant extra travel for us and was a bit weird.

The food in the pub is superb. It's served super fast and was one of the best we had in our trip. They managed to make a standard bruschetta so beautiful and delicious like I have never seen before.

The location is perfect. Good rooms. Could spot a couple of kangaroos from the balcony. The restaurant is good to visit. Great live music. My daughter enjoyed it a lot.

We had dinner here the night before our Wedding with many of our guests joining us (around 65 people). I had booked in advance and Harrigans were happy to arrange tables near each other which worked perfectly on the night. Food was delicious. Many of our guests returned over the weekend even to just have a drink as they loved the location and the great atmosphere.

Went to Hunter Valley last weekend to celebrate our friends birthday. I had booked us into the restaurant weeks in advance and they rang the day before to confirm. As I have been here twice before, I had recommended it to the group as a great place to enjoy the evening after visiting one or two wineries during the day.
When we arrived we were all welcomed in and shown to our tables, after ordering our food we all ordered one drink at the bar and then returned to the table. The food was very enjoyable and we were having a great time. After we finished eating, we then went to the outdoor terrace to enjoy the live music and then ordered one more drink. Just as we sat down, my friends mother was approached by security and abruptly told that the bar had decided to "cut" us off and that we were to finish our drink and leave. I went to speak to the security and they explained that although they did not believe we were showing any signs of intoxication and they even advised the bar that he was happy with us to stay, but that it was the bar managers decision and that they had the final say and said we must leave.
I explained that we had only finished one drink after spending a lot of money on a meal for 16 people and I'd like to speak to the manager to understand the decision they'd made but the manager refused to speak to us.
Extremely embarrassing being told to leave the premises at 8.30pm when showing no signs of intoxication and from reading the previous reviews, it's clear that they're happy for large groups to come in to spend a lot of money on food and then kick them out without cause or reason. Might as well go to a fast food restaurant. Certainly won't be returning again and will be advising anyone I know going to Hunter Valley to avoid Harrigans!

Good indoor and outdoor areas. Good selection of food and drink. Great quality. Pricing reasonable for the area. Friendly staff. Best to book, especially with a group or busy time.

We held our wedding reception at Harrigans on 26/08/2023. Everything was perfect! The food was wonderful, the staff were attentive and friendly, and they accommodated us when the babysitter didn't show, meaning the kids had to come to the reception!
Maddie and Stacey in Events are lovely and very easy to deal with!
The accommodation was also very lovely. We will most definitely be back!

Our visit to Harringan's Bar was a delightful experience.
As a small group, we chose the bar for lunch and were pleasantly surprised. The food was not only delicious but also came in generous portions, all at reasonable prices. If you're looking for a great choice, I highly recommend trying their shared platters. The nods of approval around the table spoke volumes about their quality.

The abundance of seating was also a notable feature, ensuring comfort for everyone. Whether you're looking for a satisfying meal or a casual get-together, Harrigans Bar certainly delivers on all fronts.

Perfect stop off for a drink while travelling through the Hunter Valley. Meals are served quickly when the crowds are small. Expect to line up to order around peak meal times if the pub is full. Options to sit inside or outside in all weather conditions.

Everything is good here, food, location, accommodation. Was gob smacked by how rude and condescending the front of house staff were. Tall brunette in particular, really disappointing to see such a great place be bought down by nasty and poor customer service. Saw multiple people look perplexed by her foul attitude after being "greeted" by her. Absolute sad sack sally, don't know how people like her keep their jobs

Food is fine with a fair price, had definitely improved since the last time I've eaten here. The duck is a small light meal, pizza is basic but tasty and the pot pie doesn't have a great range of flavour. Creme brulee came out burnt but delicious otherwise. Style of the pub is great and staff are awesome!

Took a friend from out of town here after a day of golf up the road. We had the beef burgers with maple bacon and cheese and chips side. Everything was unreal. The burger was perfectly cooked and tasted great! The chips were easily some of/if not the best we've both ever had!!

Do not stay here.
We had a terrible experience. For my wife's birthday, we were going hot air ballooning and staying at Harrigan's, as it is close by.
For dinner on Saturday night, we booked a table for two next to the fireplace. On arrival 10 minutes early we were seated next to the cash register and the Passover bar, I questioned the manager as to why we were not receiving a table at the fire. We were told that this table was booked for us, and I asked them to find me a better table. Apparently I was not nice enough and was threatened with being thrown out by the restaurant manager.
I shut my mouth and took a share table in the bar area and we ate our dinner after complaining to the bar manager with no further success as the restaurant manager came over and intervened.
After eating dinner, I went to thank the chefs for a lovely meal as I usually do. At this stage I was again approached by the restaurant manager, and I asked her to see things from my perspective. She would not listen and kept talking over me, so I walked away, not wanting to make my wife's night any worse. When I got back to my table, the security approached me and threw us out as the restaurant manager had lied to them and told them I had sworn. I absolutely did not swear or raise my voice, The restaurant manager had obviously wished to cover up the situation that she caused. We left quietly and will never return.
No apology was made or any attempt to rectify the situation once the mistake had been made. We were made to feel that the mistake was our fault.
There are so many lovely places to stay in the Huntervalley. Do not stay here.
I am anticipating a comment from management below that will make some excuse and blame it on me.
Very disappointing experience.

Great location amongst the wineries, we went during the week with no crowds so we were served quickly for drinks and food. The burger was awesome and whilst it was fairly small compared to most pub burgers, it was enough to fill me. The beer and cider went down really well too! It is a great place to eat if you don't want to spend mega dollars in a winery, whilst being amongst them all.

We were ALL impressed with the speed of the service. No kidding by the time I got back from the bar to our table, the steak (one of the best I've ever had) was ready and waiting. Excellent meet and greet from security and hospitality staff. No idiots, great music.
We are definitely going back.

Highly recommend eating here if you want value for money, good serving sizes, good food, friendly staff, lots of options on the menu and fast service.
We ate here during a very busy public holiday period and these guys handled it every well. We didn't have a reservation and they were still very accomodating. The food came very quickly (although be prepared for a long queue when ordering as there is only one line up to order at the register which can take up to 20 minutes just to order) We have eaten here twice now and are planning to come back because it's a pleasant place to eat, nice surroundings
and good value for money.

Visited here after arriving at our hotel to be told their restaurant was fully booked that evening. This turned out to be no bad thing as we enjoyed our visit to Harrigan's.
We opted for the Monday special of Cheeseburger and chips at $18, which we both enjoyed and thought was good value for money. After ordering, the food was quick to arrive.
The only thing I didn't like was having to queue separately for food and drinks.

We have been here before, food was good. Unfortunately my steak was overcooked and as food was ordered at the bar, there was no one I could contact regarding my food, ended up having to walk my plate back to the kitchen.
They did deliver a new plate within 5 minutes with the steak cooked as requested and I was happy with this, however I think they need more staff to provide some level of service.

We were recommended this restaurant after our wine tasting and purchases at Hunter Valley. The service is a total shock. We arrived with 15 persons and were told that we could only be seated outside even when we could see spaces that could take more than 3 times our number at least. That's even after we offered to be seated separately as it's convenient for her. We were told we had to come into the kitchen table to place our orders, no table service. A sure sign of discrimination. Raised the same issue with a manager-dressed person and nothing was done. All wineries around should surely boycott this restaurant for the good of your clients.

Great Irish pub in the beautiful hunter region. Location, food and beverages all on point with a great aesthetic to the establishment.

A very easy day trip to make from Sydney if you're up for a little drive, have some lunch then head back down.

Strongly recommend the Guinness pie.

Overall the area is beautiful and lots of options for beverage, however our groups chicken wasn't cooked very well, some sections of the meat were raw. I had a friend later few days after comment the same on the chicken schnitzel. Would have felt more comfortable with a well cooked meal. Was concerning to hear the same comment days after.

Went in a large group and found the service to be great, the food was excellent and the general atmosphere was wonderful. Live bands music over the weekend, a great selection of tap beers and of course local wines. We all really enjoyed it. It gets busy so book a table if you are wishing to dine in.

Lively pub with a great vibing atmosphere. The outdoor dining area was sunny relaxing and had a band playing some nice tunes. Enjoyed the steak sandwich. The steak was cooked medium and the flavours of the sauce and condiments were nice. The chips was top notch, crunchy, crispy and delicious!
Great place to enjoy a meal with the family.

A great place to relax on cold nights. Good bar service and many beverage options. Sadly the food was ordinary. There was quantity, but alas little interesting flavour. My ribs and wings were bland. Covered in a sticky sugary sauce of uncertain flavor. The meat had little interest to savour.

Place is a bit of a landmark for the Hunter, worth popping in for a meal and beverage but note is it expensive and their is a wait for the bar. Been here a few times to break up the Hunter wine tastings, experience is pretty consistent.

We originally went inside and was told they could fit us in. Went outside and got a table straight away. Interesting the place had a large number of tables which were reserved but virtually no one was sitting in them.

Food service was incredibly prompt. I order at the outdoor bar and we received our food about ten minutes later. Guinness was really good, house sparkling was very average however.... Mushroom gravy was decidedly limited in terms of mushrooms! ?

Atmosphere is fabulous. They had live music which added to the environment. On a nice day you could happily spend an afternoon relaxing over a few beverages. If you are staying local there is also taxi details to get you home safely.

Would certainly come again, but you do kind of feel like your being churned out asap.

The place to be in the Hunter Valley on a Saturday night. With great food, drinks, live music, dancing and fun. It's a beautiful bar and dining space. It was nice and warm during a cold night. The security and staff were all so lovely. Great customer service! You have to check it out!

The food is great and reasonably priced. A few mates and I popped in for a Saturday lunch on our motorcycle run through the area. Great indoor and outdoor areas. Lots of parking and not the crowds you sometimes encounter a bit closer in to the city. Great atmosphere and beautiful interior decoration with attention to the little details.

Our stay was great.
The food was exceptional.
We did have a problem with a smell in our bathroom. I spoke with the cleaning supervisor in the morning, she had someone look at it as soon as we left our room.
All the staff were polite and friendly.
I will recommend Harrigans to all my friends.
Also I loved the carport to park under, right at the door.
Thanks Bryan

The venue itself is absolutely stunning inside and out, the atmosphere was lovely as well. We hadn't booked in for dinner but the lady at the front door showed as where we could sit, handed us menu's and gave us instructions on how to order. We ordered 5 mains, the came out quickly and were absolutely delicious. Prices were reasonable for both food and beverage. The overall experience was extremely positive and we would love to return soon!
