Heard the Grand Hotel Bistro has improved.
I had the Thai Red Curry with beef. The curry flavour was ok but the meat tasted like it was just barbequed with all the other steaks served that night and just dropped in. I ate the rice and vegies not the meat. We ordered within 5 minutes of each other, 3 couples. First two meals came out in 5 minutes. Second two meals in 10. Last two meals took 45 minutes, a Snitty and a Salmon ?
Would need to win a meal voucher for me to return, but I would probably donate it.

Service was great and atmosphere was family friendly.
The food lacked passion, alchemy and or the homely feel.
Having said that we were hungry and didn't leave much on the plate.
Perhaps the chef? had the night off.

Best food I've had in the New England area. The food and service far exceeded the plain presentation of the building. Had the barramundi, large perfectly cooked fresh fish with a good salad (not just premix). Will go there again for lunch.

Great little pub. Food was very n ice. Could have been a lot warmer.

Haven't visited for a long time. Starting to look great but prices are exy! $1 more here for a schooner than other pubs in town.

Hadnt eaten there for a while. I had a sensational steak special with a stylish salad. Big enough to satisfy my taste without costing me a bundle. Service was good, pleasant clean and covid safe.

On holidays in armidale, had a great lunch with my son today, staff very friendly, the food was great, very fresh salt and pepper calamari, and the barramundi fish worth every cent. Dog friendly also. A great local pub.

More expensive than with previous management, but still good pub food.

I am eating here tomorrow night to catch up with some old friends, and I called to request a table thats dog friendly be reserved. The staff who answered the phone was so so lovely to organise with and so positive about bringing my pooch along, very different to many other places who arent pet-friendly. Despite not having eaten here yet, 5 stars from me for wonderful and friendly service!

Excellent meals and service with good social distancing in place. We liked this place.

Prices are very reasonable, nice service at the bistro and good pub food. Their daily specials at $12 for dinner is fantastic value.

Great food! Top 3 places to eat in Armidale in my opinion. So many seating areas. Good gaming area with an extension on the way!!

Great, friendly service. Food was a bit slow to come out and when it did, only some of us got food while the others had to wait longer. It was a Saturday night and they were quite busy, so that was okay. But the food was delicious, very big meals and full of flavour. Would definitely be returning for future nights out
