Lovely old pub with little street appeal, but once you enter very nice, open & airy especially the beer garden.
Dined in the beer garden - meals & drinks seem expensive compared to other pubs. There was a normal menu & choices & some specials. I had a salad & very tasty & appealing to eye.
Orders at the bar - staff were ok but not friendly & overly helpful/responsive.
Inside were various other bars including pokies - found pokies unpleasant where smoking inside was still allowed.
Didn't see any specific parking, so on street or in multilevel carpark at rear.

Golden Sheaf has been around forever. Fortunately, it has remained consistently good. I recently had lunch there and was pleasantly surprised by both food and atmosphere. We were welcomed by the friendly staff and attended to quickly. The menu was varied with usual lunch fare and absolutely delicious. We had 3 main courses, all delicious, which we shared and washed down with great wine. Prices are really reasonable, so a pleasant and welcome surprise.
We sat outside, a particularly pleasant area, and enjoyed the atmosphere.
Parking is a breeze as the venue is located opposite Woolworths carpark. Well worth a visit.

? I ordered the salmon for lunch, which was cooked perfectly and served with a delicious lemon butter sauce. The salmon was flaky and moist on the inside, and the skin was crispy on the outside. The lemon butter sauce was tangy and creamy, and it complemented the salmon perfectly.

I also brought my dogs, and they were welcome to sit at our feet while we ate. The staff were very accommodating and made sure that my dogs had plenty of water.

This place has the coolest atmosphere! There are multiple areas you can eat (indoors and out) but the outside area is sooo cool! I did not expect that from the street view. The schnitzel was super crunchy on the outside, yet tender and juicy on the inside. Definitely check this place out!

Chilled pub vibes with delicious food. Tuna poke bowl was amazing but as per my friend falafel burger was dry.

Came for a team lunch and the food and service was amazing! I was going to order something small from the main menu but their Tuesday specials include a Burger (any burger from the menu) plus chips and a drink for $20. I couldn't skip past it and glad I choose the burger. The chips were tasty and so was the burger than comes with 2 sauces. Customer service was also fantastic! The waitress at the food ordering counter was super nice and helpful, the guys bringing the drinks and lunches out were also champs bringing us extra cutlery and napkins etc. to our table. It was also toasty and warm in their undercover area - lunch was perfect!

The crispy chicken burger had a great crispy crunch, just like the chips. With a relaxing beer garden area that feels miles away from the busy street out front.

Came here for after dinner drinks with the group and loved the vibe. Its a very 'young' crowd out there and the dj was belting out some fabulous numbers. Fun way to spend an evening with a group of friends

Food was OK, decent, straightforward pub fare and not expensive. The kids meals were a hit with my daughter. But the best thing about this place is the atmosphere in the garden out the back, great music belting out of an awesome sound system, not too loud but not boringly quiet. Huge spacious area with loads of free tables when we visited Friday dinner time. Great bar service too with fresh cold pints.

Great place with lovely part outdoor indoor ambience. I love the huge tree in the middle, it gave a magical vibe, though the fruits it sheds do hurt a little when it hits you. Was pleasantly surprised how good the food was, the chicken schnitzel was so tender and juicy. Service was also prompt with attentive staff. And best part is that it's dog friendly.

Always liked this pub, but the kitchen has lost it. Steak over cooked and fries still frozen in the middle.
Seafood linguine that had little taste but was quite obviously from frozen.
Disappointing after having been such a great pub in the past.

Beautiful food! Compliments to the chef. Best rib eye fillet we've ever had. Loved it. Great atmosphere and customer service too! Very happy.

Good atmosphere during the day/early afternoon. Kid friendly for lunch and close to all other shops in Double Bay. Good drinks selection and food is solid but a bit pricey.

Grant venue for Anzac Day as well, with a dedicated stage and great compares.

They also do a poker night but haven't been and it's known for a great atmosphere on match day!

Amazing crew working here. They really look after locals well and are always friendly and welcoming. Food is always ??'? ? nice ambience with tea lights and fresh flowers ??'? on the tables... the carpet gets cleaned here and you can tell! Also gaming staff are wonderful too.. cant forget about them ?

I went on Saturday 29th with one friend and were sitting upstairs in the booth seating. When my friend went to get drinks for us a man came up to me and then proceeded to swear at me when I said I didn't want to talk to him. When my friend came back they were even more aggressive towards her and began elbowing her, cornering her, and intimidating her, as well as taking our drinks and drinking them (during Covid no less). They then threw a drink at us, at which point I went up to the bar to ask for a security guard. The bartender, Ryan, immediately had me identify the perpetrators and stayed next to them to ensure he could identify them to the security guard, and to ensure they wouldn't bother us again. The security guard then came and asked them to leave, and ushered them out when they reacted negatively. Ryan then came over and told us that they have left the venue and wouldn't be bothering us any longer. He then took down information about the assault which made us feel even more secure. We really wanted to thank Ryan and the security guards on that night who helped us.
We don't generally love coming to the Sheaf because of the men that my friends and I have to deal with there, but this has made us feel a lot more secure going out here. Thanks to Ryan and his quick reaction we will be back again.

Quality venue. Beer was good. Fairy lights in the tree out the back were pretty. I like.

My wife and daughters brought me here yesterday (Sunday 6th September) for father's day. What a great place, beautiful courtyard, top quality food and great service. Nothing was too much trouble for them to accommodate any adjustments we asked for. The only thing would improve it for me would be a larger selection of beer's on tap.Evan NicolaouThanks guys
