There's hardly any mention that you have 28 Licenced Poker Machines!!! I did my money on them as I always do!!! They are a scourge on society and a cash cow for Pubs and Clubs. Avoid this place at all costs.???-

Two nights at The George for NYE with 6 people. Everything was perfect. Restaurants very good waiters excellent and food exceptional.

My review is about the pub dining experience. The atmosphere is a peaceful, lovely old pub. Staff were all friendly. Unfortunately service was quite slow and everything seemed disorganised for a fairly quiet Sunday. Pepper sauce on steak was so strong it overpowered everything, and no salad with pub steak/chips is unusual. Coffee was possibly the worst coffee I've had in years. Ordered cappuccino and received a tepid, burnt flat white. Luckily, the disorganisation lead to our coffee bill being lost, so it was free anyway.

Our friends had their engagement in the function room, nice space with balcony for those smokers and anyone needing some fresh air. A man I can only think is the manager was very accomodating and friendly int he setting up for the night and serving us lunch that day. Delicious breakfast meals available all day. A lovely woman serving overheard us saying we had an hour to kill and recommended the free Ballarat art gallery over the road. Thanks for all the great service!

Now if you have a date in Ballarat, Quality Inn The George Hotel is the place to rest up and stay over. As a weary traveler we found it's central location absolutely perfect. Everything in the CBD is walking distance. The room was pleasantly fresh new modern and sophisticated very roomy with high ceilings. What a treat. All the normal well stocked bar fridge. Even the iron and table came in handy. We will be back on the return trip passing through.

We only had food but were impressed by the fine old building, very clean restaurant area and all the staff were very efficient and friendly. The beef cheeks were excellent, I would definitely recommend them. ??'?

After so many business trips to Ballarat, I found this fantastic hotel to book. A comfortable room , all meals are available on premises. Staff are very nice with very good customer service.

This is a kool venue with multiple different rooms that lead into an outdoor open well-lit alley area. The only negatives in my experience is that the bar is one of those places with sticky floors/benches so could perhaps use some additional cleaning. Also the outdoor area can get rather breezy so a heater or two would be nice.

Perfectly clean and well set out rooms.
Check in was quick and the receptionist was particularly helpful with our booking which wasn't straight forward.
Was my second stay and I will be back

By far the highlight of our Ballarat trip. Before setting foot inside the gaming area, we were awed by the well-preserved 1850's building. The gaming area itself was well designed and spacious, and offered a decent selection of machines. Once you hit collect, be sure to spend some time by the ambient fireplace - if you're lucky there might even be a movie on (for us, it was The Hobbit; upsettingly bad CGI but not the establishments fault)!

Staying here tonight. We cannot sleep for all the banging and carry of of swearing and noise we can hear outside and ownstairs. Who knows when that will end.
The hair-dryer in the room doesn't work. The frosted glass next to the toilet was clearly not cleaned and you can see what I assume is urine run marks and splatters from the other side as you come in.
Such a shame as the rest of the place is awesome. Location is perfect, hotel is a beautiful period building.

Very comfortable bed. Lovely room. My only complaint is we are early risers and wanted to get an early start for home but there was no way to exit the George. Or bill was all paid.

As good as it gets!! We dined at The George and it was an excellent experience. The dining area is well laid out with plenty of space, and privacy in the booths. The food was fantastic. Our slight variation in the order was accommodated and the food was top notch. Particularly impressed by the serving sizes - very generous, especially the salad. The food itself was excellent. Service was great. Our host, Gary, was attentive, personable and efficient, and helped to make the experience enjoyable.

Great place to stay, right in the middle of town, close to everything you need. Facilities are good, very clean. Would definitely stay there again.

booked online for today.Drove from Geelong to find the hotel closed....very kind receptionist explained that the bar/restaurant etc were shut until Friday even though there was no mention of this online when I booked.My booking was confirmed.Do you really expect me to pay 158$ for a room in a closed off hotel when the management cannot be bothered to inform intending guests that the facilities will be unavailable.To add to the poor service,the car park was a few blocks away and the entrance was locked when I arrived.I was then told the hotel was shut until Friday. I refused to stay and drove back to Geelong. Utterly unacceptable......terrible attitude to guests-at 158$ for room-I do not think so.AVOID!

Lovely heritage and central hotel, close to restaurants, big and clean room, friendly receptionist, who explained very thoroughly the parking which is bit tricky.

Went to the Lounge nightclub here, had a bloody hoot of a night! After someone pinched my favourite Levi's Jacket the team here found an exact replacement from Europe and even delivered it to my workplace. Cam is the man. They took their duty of care above and beyond. Thanks heaps team!

We recently organised a board meeting at the George and cannot recommend them enough! Renee was so lovely to deal with and made the day run smoothly from organising the projector and supplying materials to ensuring lunch was made to fit in with our schedule

Stellar customer service from hotel staff - lady stayed on the phone to help us find the guest parking around the back of the building.Beautiful heritage building, high ceilings and room was a great size, tastefully decorated

Ballarats leading entertainment venue. The most friendly staff, and wonderful supporters of the Ballarat community. Always a pleasure to drop in for a coffee on my way to work every morning, and always look forward to popping in for a beer on the weekends.
