Booked a room, arrived and was told to wait a minute. He ran upstairs, obviously turned on the fan and opened the window. Im a non smoker!
The whole room stinks of cigarette smoke. Do yourself a favour folks and don't waste your time, you don't need the grief. 150 bucks to sleep in a noisy smoking section, I wouldnt throw eggs at the kip. Scum bag at the bar need a solid head butt for his actions.

Great service for the kids, and the $12 schnitzel on Wednesday is fantastic value. Great playground for the kids, nice atmosphere, friendly service.

This accommodation was absolutely FILTHY, like really disgusting. The description and photos are very misleading to say the least and what your booking confirmation says and what you get is very different.
We checked in and very quickly checked back out with a refund. Wouldn't recommend, I reckon you could have a feild day in there with a blue light ??

They've done a great job revamping this place. We hired the outdoor area and was a great place to host a quick lunch after my grandmothers funeral before heading back to the Homestead for reflection fireside. Meals were lovely & and quick, considering we had about 40 for lunch. We also visited the last couple of Wednesday nights. They have $12 snitzels on offer if that's your thing. The fish & steak have been really nice options. However, prices are a little on the high side for a pub meal. The place is a good option for families with the outdoor slide / game area.

Place looks great after the renovations. Great bistro meals good portions and well priced. Not a long wait for meals to be served. Kid friendly with a great area for them to play. Awesome staff happy to help and always smiling and jovial. And the rooms are a decent price aswell. Will be back and will recommend

I was happy with the accommodation here. There seems to have been a refurbishment fairly recently and my room was spacious and clean, with a big bathroom. I can't comment on the shared facilities. I wouldn't stay here without a car as it's about 10mins drive to town. The gaming lounge opens til 4am but I didn't hear any noise from it. Slight issue with smoke penetration from the outdoor gaming area but not a deal breaker for me. I felt it represented good value for money. The bistro and sports bar are both very nice. Staff were great. Would stay here again.

Awesome little pub. Renovations look good. Staff are friendly not sure if the pokies are friendly although they never usually are in any establishment ive been to ?. Great meals from the bistro good portions and quick service. Will return and would definitely recommend

Great staff and great prices. Unfortunately not many GF options. Food was like warm and my beef nachos had various raw chunks which was off putting. Was nice to go to a place with play area that's under cover though. Good atmosephere.

The only issue we had was the chicken schnitzel was too over cooked and cold. Also all the chips were cold and over seasoned.
I have been plenty of times and loved the above to the extent that I rave to my friends and family about it but sadly last night it was disappointing. I am not sure if it was a new cook or not but definitely different to all the other times I have been there.

I will be back as I love going here but not sure if I will get the schnitzel again.

Absolutely love this place. Such a great atmosphere for adults and kids.

My only critique is taking away the kids pizza. My son loves it but I now need to order a regular for him which doesn't come with ice cream.

The staff are very friendly and professional. The food is tasty, fresh and well presented. Very good price. Monday $10 burgers and Tuesday 2 for the price of one. Very clean dining area.

Awesome bistro for a casual night out. The dining area is spacious, bright and inviting. Very kid friendly or select a table on your own for a couple.The booths are popular so book early.
Staff are super friendly and incredibly helpful.
Delicious generous portions of food served piping hot with very little wait. I highly recommend the chilli prawn linguine and their chips are superb.
Looking for to many more visits. Thanks so much to staff for two great nights out with friends.

Held my baby shower at Five Islands Hotel on the weekend and everything was so great. We ordered a number of platters from the function menu and everything was tasty, the bar staff were lovely and attentive to my guests and nothing was too difficult for them. The play area and arcade games were so awesome in keeping the kids entertained. Since the new owners took over I think it's really improved compared to my past experiences.

Been here a few times, it's a pretty good little bistro with a play section that is fenced. The food is good. We had pizzas, calamari, burgers. Also works well for a small party. Only downside is the play area can get wet if it rains.

Highly recommend!! Ive found my new favourite place to take my little family!! So if you're looking for somewhere with the most delicious food large servings and at great prices along with super friendly staff and a relaxing family friendly pub then you cannot go past Five Islands Hotel. The Boscailoa Schnitzel is to die for and the pizza is perfection hats off to the amazing head chef Mitch and his team!! If you haven't been you're missing out!!!

The place was clean; however, we endured a night of passive smoke. A window was shared between two rooms inside the double room with an ensuite that we booked. Unfortunately, we couldn't close the window as the people next door were smoking and didn't want it closed.

I also booked from their website, which gave the option if I wanted to check in after 12.00 pm and before 2.00 pm. We arrived around 1.00 pm only to be asked to come back as the room was not ready.

I love the new family friendly atmosphere and such lovely staff. Great food and my kids love the play ground

We love to have family gatherings here as the food is nice and the kids have a good time. We only wish the playground was sheltered more so the kids could enjoy when it rains.

Since the new ownership and the place made over. It has been more inviting for families. Love the new modern area. Plus the kids area. And the all fashion arcade games ? Are a classic!! The food has been lovely on the fee occasions we have been.

Best pub food around. Great prices and large portions, the daily specials are awesome deals and very worth it.
Staff are friendly and fast.
Kids area is perfect to keep little ones occupied.
Pokies area is small but the sports area is modern and well presented.
Definitely recommend a visit for anyone!

Grate food grate customer service that 1 star they didn't get is for not having skilled scurity guards at busy nights. They had very young boys as security that he was afraid to act when he was needed to act actually the female bartender fixed the drama better than him

The staff were friendly ,Generous and kind.
Would recomend squid entree and the snitty. And they have a pool table!

2 for one pizza night!! I got a main meal and a lunch to share tomorrow. The pizzas were great. Generous with the meaty delights. Courtaney had the fedecinni bolognese and asked for extra extra parmesan cheese (being pregnant) and they did exactly that, topped the beautiful bacon generous meal with extra cheese with a small bowl on the side with the + extra.
Staff was super friendly and helpful. Clean and modern environment with the game on the big screen. Whats not to love.

So the renovation is really nice but for me the good ends there. I've now been three times trying to give the place a chance, particularly because our first couple visits were when it was just reopened.

The place has no real atmosphere so hanging around isn't particularly enjoyable. The menu is pretty lacking and recently 2 of the vegetarian options (including the only main) were removed from the menu. We've tried the pizza, the burgers, the schnitzel and the fish and chips. Mostly the food has just been average but on the last visit it was really poor. Pizza was so undercooked as to be raw all but at the outer edge, hubby said worst pizza he's ever had. The piece of chicken in the chicken burger was so small that 50% of the burger had no chicken in it and the bit that did have a chicken layer was super thin and tough. Just really disappointing, as this place could've been a great local.

Came here for a girls trip over the weekend.The food and drinks menu was great as it was quiet diverse and the actual food itself (Chicken Schnitzel and Fried chicken burger) was to die for.I would like to particularly mention the wait staff Mikayla her welcoming smile and helpful attitude made the dining experience that much better, when you dine out its all about the overall experience which includes waitstaff and she topped it - the best service ever.The reason for my 4 stars is purely because towards the end of the meal we continued to nibble and chat but had been interrupted three times within a span of 15 minutes by the other wait staff asking if we were done. The first time asking was nice as I can understand its part of the gig to ask to clear the tables, second time it was a little annoying and then by the third time within that 15 minutes it kind of was a turn off that we just agreed for her to take away our plates although we were still keen to eat the left over fries as well as order more drinks. But due to this we just left and did not spend any further (which we had every intention of doing so). But overall would recommend this place due to the food and drinks quality and if youre lucky Mikayla will serve you!

The renovation is great, the service was great too. The selection of drinks was good, but the selection of food was lacking. Also the pricepoint is much too high for the portion size and quality of meal. If they can either improve the portions and quality or lower the prices by a few dollars we would go back - but otherwise, no, sadly the value for money just isn't there. Lots of potential though.
