Good value food and drink, with pub classics and some good daily specials, friendly, inviting, good selections of popular wine, dog friendly beer garden! Had the children Kiev, partner had steak sandwich, both good size meals. Stopping in Gundagai? Well worth a feed!

Staff were lovely. Food was great and plenty of it. Sat in the beer garden which was nice. Didn't have to wait long.

A good pub lunch. Lovely grilled barramundi cooked to perfection. Salad and chips just delicious. Good coffee also.

Good food and service, Great taste. Oh! and if you are looking for a vegetarian option, ask them. It's not listed on the menu, but they will cook something for you ?(e.g. garlic bread and salad).

15 April 2023, We chose this pub due to the high Google rating, we were wrong!
110 minute wait for hard, dry Scotch fillet, (med/rare ordered). For a town surrounded by cattle farms, this steak was very disappointing, and the nearly 2hr delay added to a long day on the road. No communication on meal delay from staff.
Smokers in outdoor dining area created odours that travelled throughout the dining area. (I thought smoking was banned in food / dining areas).

This is a nice place to spend coffee with friends! Tuesday Girls, as we call our group of 8 or more at other times, spend our coffee( morning) and lunch at this place regularly every week! We spend 5 to 6 hours just sharing updates on what is in the community or all around the world! Food and coffee are nice! No corkage fee every time we bring cakes for birthday
celebrations!

This is located just across the road where the Australian Pen Museum( old Assembly Hall building) at 214-216 Sheridan Street, Gundagai, NSW, is!

We have had meals at this hotel a few times and they have been reasonable but nothing special, the atmosphere is good and the staff are pleasant but on our visit tonight we had to wait nearly 1.5 hours for our meals, we and other patrons around us were getting disgruntled, I believe that if there is going to be a significant delay in the delivery of the meals patrons should be advised when ordering so that they can make a decision about whether to stay or go. We will probably think twice about returning here again.

We stopped in to the Lotts Family Hotel Gundagai for an early dinner on our way from SA to Sydney.
Eddie served us with a warm welcome and was very helpful in choosing beverages. Could not fault the service if I tried.
Food was pretty hit and miss. Stay away from the Salt and Pepper Squid. It's just that mass bagged stuff from the freezer section. Scotch fillet was a quality cut, very tender and delicious despite being overcooked (ordered it medium rare) but the Chicken Parmy is phenomenal. Fantastic protein to coating ratio, chicken was still moist and very generous portion. 100% would recommend.

Stopped here for lunch on Saturday only to be told the kitchen wasn't open which was disappointing. We still had a drink while there in their beer garden which was nice. The gentleman behind the bar was very friendly.

Enjoyed the Gundagai Lions Club Christmas party there. Had traditional Christmas dinner and it was beautiful, topped off with Christmas pud, custard and icecream. I especially enjoyed the extra scoop of icecream and the extra piece of Christmas put (courtesy of my adjoining eat partners)?

Friendly staff and great food. The eye fillet was huge and well cooked. Nice nice beer garden.

Lovely dog friendly beer garden but the food let us down. The flat head and chips was so dry, it was impossible to save it with the teaspoon of coleslaw or the equally dry half a lemon wedge it was served with. The dessert was supposed to be an apple and rhubarb crumble- it was actually a soggy muffin drowned in melted ice cream. It's not even hot weather today! I was really excited for a lovely family dinner here after reading the reviews- my dog at least enjoyed the vibe.

I went for dinner in the lounge, and chose a eye fillet steak with chips and salad.
It cost $33 and it was worth every cent. The steak was huge plus the veggies were abundant, not to mention the service was friendly, approachable and friendly.
This country pub meal was excellent.

Been there twice in a 1 week time frame - between 2 of us we had four different meals. They were all very delicious. Would definitely recommend eating there. Friendly staff

Simple pub food. Very friendly staff. Family friendly atmosphere. No fuss, fast and easy dinner before bed!

Now this is how a traditional pub should be run, a case study in excellence. Had a few settlers and a meal plus a good old fashioned chin wag with a local and his friend a "Man of League" who was polite, humble and willingly engaged with myself and elderly uncle whom is a long time supporter of this chaps 1970/80's NRL team the Sea Eagles. Pleasant surprise on retro round weekend.

Basics done perfectly. Lamb shank was spectacular, could be eaten with just a teaspoon as it was that tender.

The baked potato and sweet potato served with my wife's roast pork was also perfect. Roast pork was great, very tender and served with a small piece of crackling. Only wish is that we could have more crackling.

Presentation of food is very much standard, it set me up to be blown away.

I see that some other menu items aren't as well-loved, I'll probably stick to the lamb shank then. Hope we stop by on the way back home.

Tap beer is cold and tastes fresh. Great service too.

The hotel room is very well appointed everything you need is provided. The staff are helpful.I'd recommended it. The shower is fantastic, the fridge is a good size. The room is a good big.. The tv is in a good position.I'd stay here again.

lovely country pub saw heaps of space for family groups to dine there .the owner explained we had arrived at 1.45pm and the grill was turned off. But still rustled up the best roast pork dinners we had ever eaten. so hungry i forgot to take a pic. lol

Enjoyed dinner tremendously. We were passing through on our Melb-Bne drive.
We had the roast pork, lamb cutlets with bacon, lamb shank in red wine (special); and all were super yummy!
Service staff were friendly and cheery.

What a refreshing change from the Criterion down the road!!! We were made to feel right at home by knowledgeable staff who were attentive to the customer needs even when it got a little busy. Food was good and we dined in a pleasant family atmosphere. I do think they need to move the glass washer in the public bar though.

Great old Pub, Pet Feiendly & Enjoyable Meals. We had kids nuggets, Ribs & Squid. Can recommend all 3! Squid came with chips, salad AND a side of coleslaw. Ribs came with chips, veg AND mash! Puppies were welcome out in the beer garden which had an undercover area.

Best pub meal I've had in a long time.

Ate here last night, two chicken schnitzels looked like they'd been heated for a week, so dry. Two scotch fillets, soo chewy & fatty. When my husband complained was met with an argumentative waitress who said the meals were great??
Was recommended to us by a local shopkeeper? Won't be back!

Best cold beer & scotch fillet I have had in a long time. Great conversation with local identities.

This is the second time we have been here over the last few years and on both occasions we have been very happy with the friendly service and great meals. Today we tried the lamb shanks, grilled barramundi, and chicken burger. All were very tasty. See you again!

Did a lap of town deciding where to have dinner and chose the Family. So glad we did. Awesome 'counter meal' menu. Food was excellent, great wine list and lovely froendly atmosphere and service. Great place for a meal.

Amazing pub. Awesome character with a mad beer garden out back. The staff are super friendly and helpful and the food, well let's just stay I came for a week and I ate here every night. Every single thing I ate was amazing. I can't recommend this pub enough. I'll be back for sure. Do yourself a favour and get the ribs.

My wife and I enjoyed an excellent meal last night at the Family Hotel in Gundagai. Our scotch fillets were cooked to perfection - with generous servings of veges and the most delicious pepper sauce. A very good wine list (at great prices too) with excellent service from the bar and kitchen staff. Thank you. Our first time in Gundagai - we will be back.
