Great pub with good atmosphere, had the $15 schnitzel and it was excellent.

Service & food was good, but a big downside was the portions of food, e.g. with veggies we only got broccoli, compared to other places we've been, it is a smaller seving, for some feedback there should be some variety in the veggies and larger portions especially for the price,

The Empire Hotel is a local gem that lives up to its reputation. Their nachos are outstanding, bursting with flavor and generous portions. The friendly staff creates a welcoming atmosphere, making it a perfect spot to enjoy a meal with friends. The value for money is excellent, making The Empire Hotel a must-visit.

Great pub with nice clean interiors and very good food. There are daily specials and a weekly meat raffle. Still has the public bar and pokies while also having a good bistro. Also do a Sunday Roast with kids eating free. Service is good and food comes out fairly quickly.

I've ended up here a few times recently. I quite like the renovation and it gives a choice of seating types and vibes. The pub grub menu works and in general the food is pretty well executed. Service needs work though. It's not that the staff aren't friendly but every time I have been in I have encountered a bit of a confused first day energy.

This is great local inner west pub. You will be spoilt for choice as to which part of the pub you sit it to have a drink or eat. The area near the window and fireplace has a nice traditional feel to it. The front of the bistro which is very brightly lit and good for a family, the area where the very large TV is to settle in with mates. There is also a back bar and outside area.

The food is good, the Schnitzels are amazing and I mean awesome!!! they are cheaper on Wednesdays.

The worst food I've ever had in a pub. Burger bun and patty were offensively cheap and stale, my partners medium rare steak was charred, chewy and beyond well done. Wouldn't wish this place on my worst enemy.

A great pub!!!!! Parking is quite ample considering the area. The locals are lovely and the staff are great! Haven't tried the food yet, but if it's as good as their wine, you're set!!!!

Staff rude, untrained and arrogant. Cannot make "lemonade, lime and bitters", despite help. Renovation has been done well, but has removed most of the previous character and is now a chain pub orientated more around poker machines than providing a strong food and beverage offering. Has really gone downhill since being sold in 2021 in terms of food, beer selection and service. Thankfully The Salisbury is just down the road and it's a proper pub.

Barramundi and Asian Coleslaw
Simple but amazing dish, the coleslaw had a chilli ginger flavour, I loved it to the last bite. I did not want to wash away the the aftertaste with a beverage, it left a pleasant flavour in my mouth. Shout out to the chef & cook they said hi while I was waiting, cool dudes.

We chose this pub because they advertised that they were showing the Sydney Derby. 10 minutes before kick-off we asked if they were showing it and they said they weren't showing it.
Don't advertise things you're not playing.

Renovated, clean and happy atmopshere. 3-3 different areas to sit and eat. actually has a menu. friendly staff. and its clean. How unusual and uplifitng for the inner west. Although the trendy bathroom tiles in the courtyard are odd. nice menu and atmophere. i like it.

Had visited for a client's doggy bday party. Great little pup friendly outdoor garden. Pub snacks were nice. Friendly staff. Will definitely visit again for lunch or dinner.

Great pub love the set up outside bar is great only let down was the food ordered a steak and a beef burger with a egg took 52minutes ??'? to get our order and the egg on the burger was a hard boiled fried egg ????'?burger tasted great ??'? but not so great ??'? with a hard boiled egg and the shoe string chips were dry and cold ??'? like they were ready 15minutes into our meal being served but had to wait for a egg to be hard boiled/fried our friend ordered some sweet potatoes chips which I ate and were terrific ??'? my partner wasn't impressed with her steak which was rather bland for a $30+ steak had no seasoning ??'? was cooked nicely ??'?the mash potatoes was very bland and watery and the vegetables was 2 pieces of broccolini maybe they should take the s out of vegetables to make it singular not plural without being a complete negative Nancy these only minor 5 things I've mention could have easily got a 5 star review and made our who experience alot better the place had potential cooking a egg, seasoning food & getting the chips ready b4 it's being served ain't a loose all end all situation may I also suggest turning the volume up a tad on the sports on the man screen would create a bit more atmosphere and perhaps the raffles done on a microphone we didn't know what was going on outside and left giving our tickets away to others I live and work near by so definitely keen to come back

Came here on 17/4,2022, they have renovated the front. It looks modern however, I much preferred the previous look. The warmth of the pub is now replaced by modern clinical look. The specials was also not available. The menu was a little odd. We didn't find any food in the menu that we liked so we ended up leaving after a jug of beer.

Local favorite. We always come here for the specials and beers. Good atmosphere friendly staff

Recently came here in February 2020 and noticed the tables from the dining area are replaced by a bar stool table set up. Bar stools were a little wonky. Tables were a bit small too. For a larger group we couldn't fit comfortable with all our knees under the table. Quite awkward to eat a meal with these new tables. Please bring back the sit down chairs !

Have given this place a couple of tries, while last time the burger was pretty basic, the fish and chips I had tonight was also pretty basic. The staff are friendly, however $25 for fish and chips with such a small portion it felt a bit of a rip off. Not a bad happy hour $7.50 for a pint is a good go.

A great overall experience at the Empire Hotel on a Friday night. We booked the table in advance for a dinner party, even though our group has less numbers of people coming comparing to the original plan, the staff is friendly and happy to remove their table set up to accommodate us. The place was decorated with a vintage European feeling and it was quite busy. All the staff wore their masks and even some of the customers who lined up to make their orders at the bar - great stuff! The 4 stars are for the food actually as they were alright but not too spectacular. The highlight was actually the rump steak with tender and juicy that was cooked to our request to medium rare. Thank you!

Great staff, great food. Drink prices are around the Sydney average. It's unfortunate that they close a little early. And that they allow children in the venue, who ruin an otherwise good pub.

Without a doubt my Favourite Hotel in the Annandale area! I have so many great memories in here. It's always great to be here, the staff is always on show with their best attitude, te food its amazing and the specials are not to be missed! Used to be an amazing pub and a favourite for Sunday lunch. Must be under new management: menu much more limited, the build-your-own burgers have gone and pokies have been added. The kitchen has moved to the front dining area which makes it noisier and less chilled. Still OK but disappointing compared to before.

I visited The Empire on Saturday afternoon after my vehicle had been involved in an accident near to the hotel. Mary was exceptionally helpful, comforting and caring. I cannot speak more highly of her. She is an asset to a great venue. Thank you guys! Keep being amazing.

Great pub, good food and staff are awesome.

Very different to the old Empire... craft beers are no more, the food is a deep fried fest. Our $7 'Side' was twice the size of the $12 'Snack' - the flatbread and hummus had enough hummus for 1 piece of flat bread thinly spread across the plate. The polenta was just a mess... looked like something I gave my kid when he was 6 months old... my kid wouldn't even touch the food.Shame as it was a great pub, we're locals, but will not be back.

Lovely staff, nice beers on tap and a decent kitchen. They've just re-opened after a break due to COVID etc so it's nice to be able to support the locals.
