Arrived for dinner there, took a while to get main meal, mainly hotel for locals, menu limited and not what I expected. I wouldn't return there, The Farm is a much better venue for paddock to plate food. Disappointed with variety of menu.

We stayed last night at The Eltham Hotel in the Margaret Room. What a fantastic experience. The room was beautifully decorated and comfortable. We both had a great nights sleep. The staff are all friendly and helpful and our dinner was delicious. The Open Mic night was fun. The pub surroundings are stunning. We had coffee on the upstairs balcony in the morning - we were the only ones there (I think) so tranquil. We will definitely be back. Thank you.

There were 9 of us for lunch. Booked late at 11 same day. No hassle. Menu was interesting and varied. Not a single complaint from anyone but the opposite. Rave reviews on size and taste. I am the Parmy Queen at any pub and it was huge. Well cooked great chips and green salad. Could not eat it all. Really hot day and even though under the roof it's almost cabana style and two seated at the end got sunburnt. A hat and sunscreen would have helped so it's on them but come prepared. We got there at 12 and there was a handful of people. Left at 1 and it was packed out. Great funky country pub.

This place is great - a happening and friendly country pub and the rooms are beaut. They're stylishly decorated and the bed is comfortable. Such a delight to sit on the veranda with a whiskey as the sun goes with the sounds of chatting and laughter

Great food. Went for the pigs head sausage and Yorkshire pudding with onion gravy and an extra side of chips with a pot of gravy just for dipping.
Good beer selection too, local brews and some from further afield.
Very pleasant dog friendly outdoor / under cover area.

We drove here from Tweed Heads for lunch one Sunday. It was packed but the food was delicious and well worth the wait! The chips and Demi-glacé (gravy) were fantastic as was the sausage. We sat out the back and enjoyed the lovely rural setting.

The bistro is excellent - really great food, well above 'pub food'. Left lunch truly satisfied.

Service was outstanding.

Beautiful bespoke hotel with a gorgeous outdoor area with overhead heaters that welcomed our dog and ourselves.
Staff were super friendly and welcoming. But, don't eat here if you are Coeliacs. Only a couple of GF options which included chips. On inquiry..yes..chips were GF...but 'sometimes' shared fryer with gluten food. No GF bread or rolls. Ordered Bonito with green beans and salad off specials board. Kitchen couldn't even supply green beans gf as they were cooked in water that had pasta cooked in it. Small fish arrived with extra salad, fish only charred on one side and salad was dressed with vinegary dressing that was awful. Ripped off for $28. This place needs to lift their game....there's so much potential for improvement. Disappointing! I got back to my car and ate a muesli bar for lunch.

Buzzy pub with a fantastic kitchen, live music and great atmosphere. Chips were epic! Great salt to crunch ratio and a perfect aioli to match. Defs worth the trip.

Incredible food and services. Freshest fish! Snitty was massive and the salad was to die for.

We stumbled across this pub on our travels and we will surely be back.

Wow what an absolute surprise, this pub is absolutely amazing. The food is beyond incredible. I am vegan & gf and not only do they cater they exceed expectations. The Brussel sprouts were to die for and so was the cauliflower! And don't worry you carnivores they have everything you'd expect in a pub menu but again completely exceeded all expectations!

This is a great pub in an absolutely beautiful location. Have been many times since moving into the area, and love the trivia particularly, always bring our visitors from out of the area here. I've always found the staff friendly and the service pretty quick (with one exception during a gig). Food is all nice, and some items are stand outs (the brussel sprouts!) and the rotating specials where there are usually lots of vego options make it not boring. (As a non-meat eater who doesn't like mushrooms I do feel slightly betrayed that the cauliflower burger has recently become a mushroom one..) but there are still other choices for me. I disagree with other reviews saying it's overpriced, food prices have gone up a lot lately and I think this place is on par with other pubs in the area, eating out isn't cheap these days. House wine $12 small glass. Nice atmosphere. Standard pub menu with occasional good dishes. Easy for families with kids. Casual & country vibe.

Cute atmosphere, great flavours on the menu (just wish more were vegan), decent choice of beers on tap, great live music, & multiple areas to hang in or out. Toilets were limited (2 women's, 1 men's cubicle, no option for GNC folks or disabled people as far as we could see) but in decent cleanliness. Also scored 30+ mosquito bites but that may have been walking from our car to the venue - will wear repellant next time but would be great if the venue used citronella oil burners or something as a natural deterrent too.

Love this place. The food is amazing and despite it being packed, the wait time was spot on. No idea how they managed it given the crowd! The music was good and the wait time for drinks was very short given the numbers!
Can't wait to go back!

If I could give this place less than 1 star, I would. Today I was working in Eltham and looking after a friend's dog. I decided to go down to the Eltham Pub for a pub feed as I had heard the food was great.
Upon arrival, I overhead the guy running the joint say "make sure you serve everyone else before this girl", as he gestured to me.
I thought that perhaps the other people had been there for a while.
I then went around to the bar and asked for some takeaways and some water for my dog but before I could say anything the same man walked around and told the bar staff the same thing! I was received with such disdain that I thought I may have forgotten to wear pants. I kinda wish I wasn't so that this behaviour was justified...
Maybe it's because I am from out of town? Maybe some staff there have a problem with the way I look? Maybe they don't like dogs?
Either way, I can only describe the atmosphere of this place as completely hostile toward me. For no apparent reason.
I would not recommend this place to anyone who wants to have a nice experience.
The staff even seemed surprised at my reception.
When I got home I tried my steak. It tasted off... Still can't tell if the experience down there soured me on the whole thing or if they really did try to give me food poisoning just now. Will keep you posted.
Management here needs a serious reality check.

Epic Location. Amazing menu. The cauliflower burger are delicious as well as the zucchini rice salad. So yummy! Highly recommended...

Food is a bit pricey for fairly standard menu. Nice food, but nothing fancy. Beer is excellent. Wine list is minimal and would not rate for wine lovers.
Definitely recommend for a stop.

What a pleasant surprise finding this establishment. Great food, wonderful selection of beverages, and in the evenings terrific acts, ranging from regional to international performers. All that being said, it's the people working there that make it a place to be visited again and again- awesome!!!

What a lovely place to stop in for lunch. Delicious menu with a twist and a good mix of drinks and cocktails. Good seating inside and out and kid friendly ?? ps. I couldn't wait to take a bite

This pub is the perfect place for couples or an adult catch up or party. The live music playing was great and the staff were super friendly and helpful. The menu may not have a lot but the food is amazing. The fish and chips was especially good and the steak was juicy and tender. The menu even has kid friendly options which is great for families. The pub even had a pool table which added a whole lot of laughs and fun while waiting for food. But be warned when we started playing pool we attracted a bit of an audience which was great fun. This is a great place to go for dinner or drinks and the town with its rolling hills is pretty spectacular.

beautiful old styled hotel, an absolutely sensational drive to get there from a view perspective. some of the best views I've ever seen. highly recommend a nice relaxing day out. not opened Mondays. check website for open details. very friendly staff, exceptional meal menu & some great stories to be told about the history of the pub

The Eltham is always excellent A great country pub with a menu that pleases everyone from vegans to carnivores The 2 of us ordered 3 share plates which was plenty. The Eltham has plenty of drinks to choose from as well. The service was excellent and well worth a visit surrounded by beautiful countryside

A character country hotel. Not a single TV anywhere, how refreshing to see people actually talking to each other and not staring a sport. Yummy food, good service and charming bedrooms upstairs.

LOVE THIS PLACE!! Staff are so nice... courtesy van picked us up from our van and they found us later in the evening to as us if we'd like a lift back...legends!!

Such a cool little spot too

This might be the perfect pub. We stood around the fire on a cool evening, had a fantastic meal, played some pool and chatted with the locals. Great beer selection, had some friendly banter with the staff, I wish this was my local 10/10

Not great. Food was average. Pretty tasteless and not cheap. The staff were lovely though. Got a free drink from owner/manager when we told him our food was cold. That is good customer service. Probably wouldn't return unless the food quality improves.

Staff will look after you if you look after them in return! But that's the beauty of customer service right. Definitely try the plant based cauliflower if you're having a little more than drinks because it really was magnificent - venues quite cute too, lovely local spot for dinner with friends and family ?

Great place for lunch. Plenty of room in the sun or shade. Selection of pub type food and choices for vegans and vegetarian . Below is dish of cauliflower and puree with wild rice

Lovely old hotel. It was hard to choose my meal as their were so many delicious dishes on the menu. My daughter chose the venue for her birthday lunch.

Great place for a catch up with friends. Delicious food across the whole menu. Fantastic range of boutique beers on tap. Friendly efficient staff. All 5/5. The individual chairs in the beer garden are attricious. Uncomfortable and low, but there are other 'fixed' seat tables which would be a better choice.
