Nice, relaxed pub popular with an afterwork crowd. I was there with some friends and we had reserved a booth. Even though it was a Thursday night that seemed to be a good idea.
I wish they didn't have the smokers area in the back as the smoke wafts into the indoor part which is unpleasant.

A bustling pub in the middle of Surry Hills. A lot of space to grab a table but do make a reservation if eating. The food was good, without being unbelievable. The chicken of the parmi was great quality and the chips were good too. The coleslaw could've used some sauce as it was a bit dry. The burgers were again good. Was quite loud and busy when we were there, which made it a lively vibe. Great selection of beers too

If you're a beer person, then this is your new home. They have no less than 20 tap beers to choose from. Go for the paddle, as it's a good way to sample a lot in a sitting. The friendly staff will patiently let you try a few to taste too. You get good pub grub here, the standard fare. We always end up with something deep fried to pair with our beer. Best pairing with beer. On a sunny day, it's great to sit outside in the sun on the footpath. They also have a good beer garden area, plus seating upstairs. Never a problem getting in, the problem is leaving. Get yourself in and grab a beer.

Outstanding range of beers, but all of our group thought the food was bang average, especially the anorexic chicken wings and the greasy and powdery chips. I certainly wouldn't visit this venue for the uninspired food, but thankfully you visit the Dove & Olive for the craft beer and here it never disappoints.

Staff are helpful and knowledgeable about the different beers and there are many great seating options, inside, outside and upstairs.

Drinking, then highly recommend. Hungry, try the Strawberry Hills just down the road!

There's nothing that gets me more nostalgic than a classic pub with a Sunday roast, their own beers on tap at an outrageously good price and an outdoor patio in the glorious Sydney sun. The roast brought me back to a sunny Summer day in London with tender beef and all the trimmings ??'??
The pints were $9.50, I thought the days of sub-tenner pints in the city were long gone, thanks inflation, but I was thankfully mistaken. We'll affectionately refer to this pub as The Dog & Olive (see pic below), the missus, the pupster and myself will all be back!!

Friendly bar staff, delicious food, vast selection of beers, super comfortable seating with inside and outside areas.

Good little local gem with decent food and lots of beer choices! Price is a bit steep but it's convenient and consistent so I will come back again with colleagues!

Good pub vibes. Pretty busy and popular pub in Surry Hills, located walking distance from the light rail station. I went during lunch time and there were many others enjoying their lunch and a beverage too. I had a chicken leek pie and chips, which was delicious and had good chunks of chicken inside. I would come back again.

We had a sensational Sunday lunch enjoying the winter sun outside. The pub was very busy and there were alot of places to sit inside though it was noisy. The roast of the day was so large we easily could have shared the plate and as it was we definitely didn't need dinner that night! Enjoyed a couple of middies with our meal suggested by the bar staff. Everyone was super friendly and obliging. Will definitely return for a meal!

One of the best Sunday roasts we've had in Sydney... huge portions, tons of very tasty gravy. Good veggies. The Yorkshire pudding wasn't very good but given how good the rest of the meal was, we didn't mind. Great value for money!!

Yesterday I was here around 12.30, and this Smoked Beef Ribs on food special just can't be ignored.
When the food came, first thing I noticed was .. oh... how do I eat this whiteout being messy?
Beef Ribs was plated in kinda entree/small sharing plate.
It's really hard to eat without being messy on the table.
In my opinion, Chef could use better plate for presentation.
Food was flavour some, but since chips was tucked underneath the beef ribs it self, and soaked with some braising sauce, it was all soggy.
Overall it was great, service was good enough and place was clean.
However If you are UFC fans, this place is not showing pay preview of UFC.

One of the better places in Sydney for a Sunday Roast. The vegetables and Yorkshire pudding and gravy were tasty. The beef was nice but the lamb lacked flavour. Cost $26 and portions were generous (loved the extra gravy on the side as well).

Pub is a little dingey and could do with some TLC. Service was ok.

We had the most wonderful time in the private space we hired - a huge thank you to your staff on the night who were the absolute best! The lady taking care of the event was a superstar and addressed all questions promptly. The terrace was the perfect space for us, we were a bit worried about covid (my mate's wedding is next week) so to be able to have this space tucked away was amazing.

Nice clean pub. good big meals prices good. most beer is craft. Service was good. Wasn't busy for Sunday lunch.

Well, my singular friend Adams food came out cold, so he was unhappy after he waited 45 minutes. The food only came out after we reminded the waiter of the order, suspicious...In other news they do have an awesome seltzer on tap. Overall I would stay clear of this joint if you like your food in your mouth rather than on the floor ?(fairly sure I got food poisoning hard)

Booked the upstairs 'balcony' area for a surprise night for my wife and had a great night. We were well looked after. The area was perfect, nicely set up and food and drinks options kept the crowd happy.

Dove & Olive. What a great space. Last night I had a party for my sister and brother in law for their baby on the way.
I cannot praise the staff enough. Mid melt downs they were there and so accomadating. To the owner, you've got a great team. Thank you so much, we had the best day ??????

Would give it no stars if I could. Me and a friend ordered 2 burgers at lunchtime. I seen the waiter give what looked like our order to a table that came in after us. 30 minutes went by and I went to the bar to check where our food was and of course they lost our order. 20 minutes went by and eventually our burgers and chips came out. But of course to make our experience worse the food was freezing cold. If we weren't so hungry we would have returned it. Absolutely horrible experience!!

This is the first time I have visited the Dove and Olive even though I am a local to the area. We were here to celebrate a birthday. We sat downstairs and ate firstly in front of the windows. What a wonderful spot. I had the schnitzel which was absolutely delicious! It was perfectly cooked and nice and thick. The gravy made it even better. After lunch we discovered the bar upstairs. We sat there comfortably enjoying a few gin and tonics. I really appreciated the quality of the glassware It made all the difference!

A staffer with a manbun was rude and unprofessional. Not a good experience.
