We were celebrating a friends birthday everything was good - all happy with our meals. Standout for us was Chris, he took us to our table, always smiling and very engaging. I wondered if he was the manager of the Hotel as he took so much care around serving us. Also, his knowledge of the wines on offer was way above expectation. Thanks Chris and team. FOOD-Good sized mains. All our meals arrived pretty much at the same time!??'? Only disappointment was the meat served with the Open Souv was very very dry.😞

ATMOSPHERE- none really. Would have appreciated some background music.

Great food and service. Went there twice within a few days. First time was not as good because of uncontrolled kids who were running and screaming around. The second time I knew to ask for a table away from the kids. On both occasions the food was perfect and the staff very pleasant. It's unfortunate parents allow their kids to run riot and ruin other people's experiences. Fortunately at this venue there are ways to avoid the problem. Would happily go there again. It would obviously be more enjoyable if the kids were brought up with manners and respect, but that's pretty rare these days.

Food quality was excellent. We were with a large group and the food service was very average. The server taking the orders walked away with 7 of our group left to order. Waited 14 minutes to finally be able to place our order. Food was not delivered by table number and servers had to shout out to find the correct table. Very difficult to do as the room is extremely noisy.

Loved it real gravy on the roast and a real proper pork roast as well. It was the best I had . Dad loved his fish and chips said it was the best he's had as well

The indoor playground makes it a great place to come with friends with children. I had the schnitzel and enjoyed it. I appreciated that it was made from a 'real' chicken breast and not just a frozen packet Snitz (a real peeve).
The service, however, was non-existent, and it felt like the staff were avoiding customers. They waited until there was a queue until anyone came up to take orders, and the staff were very slow in taking them. Our order was also lost or forgotten; I'm not quite sure. But the rest of our table had food a long time before us. And it was tough to get the attention of any staff to sort it out.

The staff couldn't have been more helpful. I'd booked for 4 & had an extra 2 last minute, not a problem setting up another table for us. Nice & cosy outside in the Social, food was delicious & staff were great, especially Belle who took our orders with a beautiful smile.

My family and I would be what I consider regulars at Croydon hotel once every 2 weeks we enjoy a week night meal here, we find the playground to be perfect for our younger children and food nice.
However our most recent visit, I phoned ahead and requested a table I asked to be close to the playground area the lady on other end of the phone asked "if I had been there before"? To which I replied "yes" she then proceeded to tell me that you could see the playground from anywhere in the bistro. I said yes I understand but close would be ideal. (Now my kids are young when it gets busy It can get harder to see them) hence me requesting close, only if they were able to seat. Her phone mannerism was quiet annoyed and abrupt.
We arrived 5 minutes early. The place was very quiet only 2 groups of people at tables we were welcomed by a young gentlemen upon entry who asked if we had a booking I said yes. Then he looked at computer and replied "oh your seated outside"! I looked around at the quiet venue and asked him if we could be inside because my children wanted to play at playground and he said yes I remember your call I am unsure why she has put you outside, I heard your call. He said we are quiet this evening. And with that the lovely waiter sat us on an empty small table indoors.
That evening we had a lovely meal and as I went to the bar to grab our drinks you had another young lady training who was brilliant and a patient young man training her.

The staff, venue and atmosphere was perfect. One particular staff member Zach who helped me with a function booking was amazing. Showed me the function areas, explained catering options and even remembered my name when setting up a tab for function on the day. Highly recommend not only for a function but also for casual dining. Keep up the excellent work and thanks for making the function special. Definitely will be returning again for further functions and dining in the future.

Great food with an extensive menu. We had a large group and everyone was very happy. Large indoor playground to keep kids occupied.

Food was fantastic. Really really improved from our last visit. I ordered the vegan pasta and it was devine!

Staff were friendly and accommodating.
Only thing that wasn't great was the kids play room. Far too many older kids in there. Maybe a age restriction needs to be provided.

I joined as a member and have been coming here a bit over the last 3 months. The staff here aren't very friendly in the gaming area. I'm actually hesitant asking them anything. Even asking for coffee is usually greeted with distain. It's like they look down on you. They will refer you to brochures and show no interest in you. Some of the staff are nice but there seem to be a few that have been dismissive towards me. I'm always polite so I'm not sure why I have received this service. So many other options in the area all of which I've been to and not had surly service.

Food was decent but the service really let it down. When our food came out the coeliac on our table was served naan bread with his curry. We asked the girl that served us if she could please double check that the curry would still be ok to eat since the order notes had clearly been ignored. We were also missing a gravy off another dish so she said she would check both of those things and simply never came back......
Whilst our coeliac friend took a lucky gamble and just ate it this kind of service should not be neglected!

The service was great, staff very friendly and efficient and food was good and came out quickly considering the amount of people there. Didn't give a 5 because the noise level was horrendous and had to just eat and run because it was unbearable. Better acoustics need to be put in place.

The food was prepared very quickly, which was good. The food itself was overall better than average for this type of bistro. The portion sizes were good and the food was reasonably priced. I was quite happy with my barramundi and I appreciated that the vegetables on the side were not drowning in olive oil (unlike many other restaurants where the chefs have the mistaken belief that more olive oil is always better).
There was only one item of dessert on the menu, which was carrot cake, which we decided to skip. A wider variety of dessert options would have been better.
It would have been good if the waiters had served drinking water for our table, or at least informed us that we had to self-serve water from the bar. It took a some looking around to realise that we had to self-serve water from the bar. It would also have been better if drinking water had been bottled to make it easier to take to our table, however we had to fill up individual glasses from a water tank. There was also a wait for clean glasses.

Food was amazing, roast pork tender, my daughter loved the food.
Staff are absolutely amazing, Zach, kath, elly and the lovely team in gaming and sports bar. They all helped me with a complex issue and still managed to have a sense of humour whilst also serving over 200 people for dinner. .will continue to keep coming back.

Great meal & children friendly! Play area amazing , lots of parking! Food arrived fast , hot & tasty! Staff attentive & helpful!
Only issue was when I was booking, the lady did not give me her name & could have been more pleasant!!

Enjoyed an awesome Christmas lunch here today.

The service was great. The food was perfect and the price was more than reasonable.

You can always tell a good menu because they have 'Big' and 'Little' kids meal. Entrees and kids meals came out VERY fast (approx 5 mins). The rest of the mains didn't take much longer. Great kids area and great food and service. Couldn't ask for much more!

We really enjoyed our meals. The senior meals are different from the usual old people home meals served in other venues. All staff that we dealt with were extremely friendly and happy. Would recommend and will go back.

Constantly running out of on tap bees and cider. Come on, used to be a good pub to visit. Getting fed up. You need to replenish stock more than once a month

Walked in for lunch and was left to stand there for 10mins. When the staff finally came over they pointed me to an empty area at the front and told me I'd have to wait, the place wasn't busy. Decided not to eat and went into the sports bar where the sour faced excuse for a barmaid wouldn't walk 4 feet to serve me and told me to walk to the other side of the bar. Still no smile and bluntly said Whaddaya want? When I ordered a drink she says Nup, don't do tia Maria & coke. So I ordered the kaluha. Not only was she rude but it was clear I was an inconvenience that interrupted her lazily leaving on the bar looking bored. The staff here are rude, unwelcoming and I would give this place a miss!

Really bad customer service. My Mum ordered wok tossed vegetables. They were just steamed in loads of butter. She returned it and no replacement was offered or brought out. Waited 30 minutes for 2 milkshakes, it was a Tuesday Lunch. Manager walking around miserable. All in all bad experience and won't return and waste our money

Kid friendly hotel with great indoor playground to keep the kids entertained. Pork Belly special was delicious and the other meals looked quite tasty as well. Clean amenities. Overall positive experience would go again.

Regular pub fare.Sports bar had the footy on when I was there last weekend. Good size in there and the taps are decent.Food could improve.

Everything here is done online from booking a table to ordering your meal and drinks. Nice, clean and modern bistro but the customer service was quite passive and the ladies were always in a rush. We ordered steaks and asked for medium rare but was well done and burnt and was very bland. Definitely wasnt a fan of the food, boring, bland and expensive, to sum it up. This was a hit and miss for us.

Great pub. Got served some nice cold ones by a really nice bar keep. Definitely worth a stop

We just had a lovely dinner in the outdoor dining area, the food was fantastic, the best we have had in a long time.The new contact less check in and ordering.The food, drink and payment is all via an app on your phone. It worked well for our kids with new phones but if you have an old phone you might have trouble as we did to start with.Be aware that you book a table for 90 min so dont be late. 6pm and 8pm so at 7.30 everything is cleaned for the next group.Very happy great service and food, we will be back again soon.
