Overall was a nice room comfy little area but i wasn't impressed at while my partner and I were getting into a few things a worker had knocked and opened our door at around 3am, Very confusing why any worker would open a customers door unless for an emergency

Had to stay here for work and will never return. "4 star Hotel". One towel in the room. Bathroom very unclean and drain clogged rendering the bathroom unusable after a short shower. One bedsheet with many black hairs in it. Absolutely disgusting. Tried to use their QR code to purchase drinks to the room to make the stay slightly more bearable. The drinks never arrived and when I asked the bar staff they said "no we don't serve drinks to the room" and were not helpful at all. Also stinks of cigarette smoke throughout the entire Venue. The plastic wrap over the fire alarms seems to be safe also. Stay away

Serving sizes are very small, food quality can improve however definitely a good hit on a Saturday afternoon

Unreal bananas . Was there the other week. Lost about $150 in the gaming room. Then the very next week I had $40 to my name a bit of petrol half a pack of smokes and a drink waiting for me in the car. I pulled out $1150 and walked out. But then again I'm not going back. Lol you all know why. You win some you lose a LOT.

Ordered beef burgers and a chicken schnitzel. The order was delivered to our table as a takeaway order, even though we had not said takeaway and had also ordered drinks and were given a table number. Working in the industry, I know this stuff happens sometimes and we would have been more than happy to just eat the food as is, but the chef rolled his eyes at us and just walked away without saying a word. The beef burger patties were over cooked yet still full of liquid/water almost as if they had been boiled or stewed. The buns were stale and dense. The chicken schnitzel was brought to our table as a chicken parmigiana, which would have been fine if the tomato sauce on top hadn't tasted like it had come straight from a can heated up. Both side sauces intensely watery with no flavour. For a meal in a quiet pub on a Wednesday evening, I would have expected much better service and food for $60.

Lovely accommodation in heart of Surry Hills. Nothing flash but comfy beds, nice common area, functional (if not large or easy on the eye) en-suite. Surprisingly quiet at night. Overnight stay was very convenient and cheaper than anywhere else in Surry Hills

Ordered a cheesy garlic bread and had waited 32 minutes before asking a staff member where my order was. She then went and checked and then rudely told me oh we have a function on it will be another 7-10 minutes and stormed off. I waited another 10 with no sign so decided to cancel and get a refund. The staff member then opened the register, got the cash out, slammed the register shut and slammed the money in my hand.

Atrocious customer service and frankly poor planning for a day with an event, sporting fixture and usual crowd.

Will continue on our afternoon elsewhere

The bathroom had mould in the shower, did not look to have been cleaned. A small bathroom with the tiniest sink I've ever seen. There was no fitted sheet on the bed, just two sheets so when you went to sleep on it you could see the mattress it was very unprofessional. The shower drain was stinky, there was nowhere to put shower products in the shower which is unusual. The fridge was at a normal temperature but due to the small freezer section it made everything you put into the fridge freeze. Rooms are not sound proofed even a little bit. You can hear every person who walks past your door and we could hear really loud bangs in the night and the morning.

Great staff and manager , Jin went out of his way to assist etc , also a good bloke , Bonus was a free s hooner each day of our stay ,thanks again Graeme

To the old bearded man with the dog that sits on the balcony and yells abuse at women on a regular basis. Id rather not be yelled at as I walk past. I don't know if staff are aware of it, but it is disgusting behavior and needs to be addressed. I would not enter this establishment.

I've walked past here a few times now on my way to Jontys. Today I thought what the hell, I'll check it out. It was warm inside, quite a nice temperature to have my 28th beer given the weather we've been having.

The room is spacious by Sydney standard. Toilet looks dated and not entirely clean. The carpet in the room has stains on them. Bed sheets have holes in them. Price reasonable for a few night stay.

I don't like the renovations they have done to the [---] room. I never win here the machines don't pay. Diverse cross section of the community due to its location. I'm not that fond of this place...

Crown Hotel at Surry Hills: good. ??'?

Very good option for a place to stay in Surry Hills. Rooms are large and clean. Exceptionally well located. Good self service breakfast. Friendly.
We will stay again.

Good for a quick drink or two, bet on yr fav sport, or just catch up with some mates. Plus, they have the only ATM in the area right now. Thx for the convenience of having that ATM! Since BP has closed down, it's the only place to get cash out, within say 2kms. Bring back the banks/ ATMs!!

The refurbished upstairs function space is great for hosting a gathering. Hamptons style is different from any previous iteration of the area. Clean and classy.

Overall I had a great experience at this fine establishment. This was topped off by a bartender named Tom, who was extremely helpful throughout my stay ;)

i would just like to note how well i was greeted by a man who said his name is Tom. if anyone knows his number email me as i would like to thank him in person. if you know what i mean ;)

Having family who were locals and enjoyed the atmosphere, staffs familiarity with the locals I was on my way home and having purchased a bevy for home which was in my bag, unopened. Upon looking for my id the bottle was noted by the barman who actually lent over the bar.... this was used as a flimsy reason to not allow me entrance..upon research I failed to find the rule which denied my entry. I was looking forward to a refreshing lemon water and a half hour of chance on the pokies.
I'm glad my father and the many old friends and locals are not alive to see the demise of their beloved crown. It's not about the locals having a comfortable place to relax it's just another yuppie overpriced place where people are judged by the staff on appearance... and going by the perusal inside my bag contents of your wallet

Amazing venue. Perfect size for roughly 100 people. Layout is great! Venue manager Shawn and his staff are absolutely amazing and great to liaise with. There was never a problem with our ideas and planning of our daughter's first birthday. Shawn responded promptly to all my enquiries and questions and there was never a time of day that was a bother for him. The staff at the Crown are accomodating and lovely. T and Mitch, great managers running the venue with Shawn! We booked rooms upstairs which made things so much easier to access the venue and the rooms are clean and modern!

They allow you to set up to your liking. The catering as well was delicious! Food was great, couldn't fault anything!

Great experience and can't wait to hold future events there! Thank you to the team @ Crown Surry Hills for contributing to a great day for us!

The staff were all so helpful and friendly, especially Mitch, he was outstanding, he couldn't have been more helpful and lovely. The rooms were clean and stylish.

Great pub for a couple of snappy schooners. Always call in when I'm in the harbour city. Friendly staff which is missing in a lot of other venues. Definitely do it people. Here's cheers to beers at The Crown

Great price for the location.Staff are super friendly.Manager was kind enough to change booking date after a mistake on my end.Room was lovely and very clean.Honestly couldn't fault it.

Very friendly and professional staff on duty. Made me feel comfortable. Love the new layout of the place which made it easy for me on a disability scooter to navigate around. Also Iove the choice of carpet. Makes the place more vibrant. Haven't checked the toilets yet. A definite improvement.
