Had the fabrica pasta party lunch. EPIC.

Bustling, noisy, lovely local bistro 'Cricks' above the famous pub. Nice selection of sharing plates. Good cooking, good value wines and, of course, beer from the pub downstairs. Friendly service. We had red snapper, roast chicken and a number of starters. We'll be back! Highly recommended.

Literally get the cheeseburger, it will blow your mind- how could something so simple be so delicious!? I am a 36 year old hospitality professional working in the industry for 21 years and THAT BURGER, has left every other bread,cow,bread combo in the dust. Don't eat the burger here because it will ruin cheeseburgers for you for life, nothing will ever come close to perfection again. Thank you Cricketer Arms for absolutely demolishing any competition in the world for best cheeseburger I've ever tasted. If there was a burger world cup you guys are in the final and sinking that last golden goal- Kudos and thank you my friends, you deserve recognition for being the best at what you do!

Was told the Kitchen was open at 4:00pm, opened 4:12pm. To pay for my meal, I had to give my name, address, and phone number. I don't like that, I just want to pay!
There is a service fee, for what? It's tiny, but that's not the point! I should be paying for the meal I'm eating only.
Two of the staff were abrupt and rude, two of the staff were lovely, 50%, not good odds, it's a service industry.
The meal was crumbed fish, mashed peas, and chips. I couldn't believe it, the meal came down without the mashed peas, three ingredients and they forgot one! When asked they said "oh, is that on the menu" ? I think the chef should have known! The chips were packet string style and the fish was nice, the plate uninspiring!
Overall very, very disappointing! I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Not being harsh, was in the Industry in the past, just being honest. They could do much better!

At the risk of annoying the regulars of this venue, I gotta say, I've paid over $70 for steaks not as good as this in Sydney. 200g 'butchers cut' at $29 was bloody perfectly done. Served with salty fries = perfect. A good wine to pair too, served by a friendly bar guy!

A classic revisited.
Used to go here all the time years ago but it dropped off the radar until recently.
Tried to book the new French style bistro upstairs on a Saturday night but was full. We walked in anyway and were super pleased to be squeezed in. Staff were really helpful and the food was amazing. A simple menu very well delivered with a good choice of wine to wash it all down.
Downstairs feels like a 'proper pub' with some good beers on tap, a pool table and a fire in the winter.

Warm flat beer as they have no refrigeration in cellar on a warm February day. Lovely retro feel. Food was really yummy. Quick and yummy especially the roast chicken.
Just let us eat in the courtyard if no one is smoking. Settle down with all the rules. Fix your beer it's criminal.

You have too visit the cricketer at least once in your life, great selection of beers and the food is not bad
So try it. The toilet graffiti is ...... worth a visit.

Easily the best pub in Sydney. What pub do you know that has a jazz band rock up on a Thursday and play a song about it (that everyone sings along to)? There's only one.

Love the Crix, but they need to update their hours. Turned up at 10.20pm on a Tuesday, only to be told they close at 10pm on Tuesdays. Apparently, I should've hacked their internal system and checked their house roster and not google hours. My bad.

Lured here by the "best ever" crispy skin chicken Kiev's and all the talk about the vibe. Happy to report the staff have been delightful, the beers were good, food on point and the vibe was great. We loved sitting outside the front with the fading remnants of the sunset and fresh air. Very cute little pub.

The Aperol Spritz was a little watery from a flavour perspective and I could have had a little more juiciness to the Kiev.

Would be happy to return.

Epic gem of a Surry Hills pub, famous for inventing the AJ Simpson (Jamison whiskey highball variation with 1/4 cloudy Apple juice, 3/4 Soda water, ice, lime wedge) ??'???

Also the Chicken Kiev last night was pretty much the best pub meal I've ever had. Huge roll of butterflied chicken breast running with buttery garlic sauce on the inside when you cut into it and crackling crispy on the outside. Damn.
Vglad I ordered the same as a mate who was in the know about the Kiev.

Favourite pub in Sydney! ? excellent service, friendly faces, great drinks, cute beer garden, pool table and fun music. What more could you ask for!?

Cute little courtyard, friendly people, and the food upstairs looked amazing. Need to go back and try the Sunday roast dinner

Customer service was very average, staff were very abrupt and unhelpful when taking our order. Steak was cooked above request and burger was dry. Seemed like a slower night so expected better service and food quality. The outdoor area seemed like a good area for functions.

It's okay. Food was very average. I had the burger and tasted extremely plain and the meat was very average.

Very good and quirky, particularly the "the throne room".

The men's toilets are absolutely vile, bordering on dangerous. They remind me of toilets in Nepal.
Good friendly simple pub otherwise just don't use the toilet.

A timeless real NSW pub. Please go, it's one of the last left.
