Great pub and great karaoke. I've been in 4 times on my trip here and had an amazing evening. Met nice, friendly people and the hosts are great too! I'll definitely go back when I'm next here.

I love this pub. I come to meet friends, sit outside on the corner and watch the people walk by. BUT I today I realised they have replaced the nice white chairs and tables outside along the hotel wall with stools. Not good. Take them back into the TAB room and bring back the chairs. I think most of your customers would agree with me.

The bouncer was a rude and abusive not sure whether he thought his pony tail gave him super powers and instead of letting us know where we were allowed to be he told us to "get in the zone "we had never been there before and did not know that we were doing anything wrong and then barged passed me and knocked into my injured shoulder not once but twice to get to the people at the karaoke without an apology. I understand you have job to do but I don't think I've ever been treated so poorly by someone in my own country. Won't go there again beware. On the other hand the bar staff were great

Came here for a pub meal and some beers. Actually the food was quite decent. We sat outside and just people watched. Was great.

I went here for the karaoke theme night which a friend was doing, the music ? was great, most of the service was ok , there was issues trying to book a table, as the staff said they would not hold it even if I called and was running late especially if they were busy.
There was a good variety of drinks/ spirits and soft drinks to choose from.
The pub only seems to sell snacks not meals so I cannot comment on the taste.

A huge thank you to the staff at Covent Garden Hotel for last night. My friends and I really appreciate you responding so quickly to ensure we felt safe and welcomed when one of the other patrons passed racist comments and made threats of violence towards us. Even though this person left the premises as soon as we raised the matter with one of lovely bar staff, you all kept checking on us to make sure we were safe. We appreciate you all for making sure that there is no place for racism at your amazing venue. Thank you.

Also, the karaoke on Friday and Saturday nights are the best. We love it!!

Like many people I know, I used to be a regular at Karaoke on Friday nights here. Unfortunately the way that karaoke is now run here is such that unless you are a friend or associate of the host you are unlikely to get your turn, at least not in a timely manner. You can arrive at 8:30pm put a sign No on and wait hours,!while others walk in after you and sing several times while laughing and chatting with the host. In the past when the karaoke event was very successful it was run fairly and respectfully. I urge management to look into this and many of your patrons may return if they are shown some fairness by the host. You only need to look at some of the other reviews to see this is an issue. The bar staff and security are friendly, range of drinks and venue is great. Unfortunate that this issue is ruining the place.

The crowd Covent Garden Hotel attracts is one filled with a diversity of locals, tourists and out of towners.
I always love the conversations I have with people from all walks of life there.
The outside seating is a great place to sit and just watch and enjoy as the visitors that China Town attracts go by.
Great prices, very popular and friendly.
Don't forget to try the sweets offered across the way at the window where you see all the locals lining up.
The cocktails are a must.

Well located, clean, comfortable, and we were able to have a conversation without excessive background noise. The barman was exceptional in making sure that beers and cocktails were all served at the same time. He is a master of his craft.

Back in 2012 was good. It's Too hard to come and sing karaoke coz the host prioritising there friends of people they know. I came in around 8pm last Friday and I put my name down. I lost my patience coz 10:30pm my name is not even on top 10 list of singer.

One of four couples having dinner in Chinatown for a friend's 60th birthday. Called in for drinks afterwards but then after about an hour, the barman decided that ALL EIGHT of us could not have another drink. When asked why, he wouldn't give an answer, then the rude barmaid chipped in also telling us to leave. Other patrons we had been talking with couldn't believe it either. Went to a different pub around the corner and stayed there for two hours until we headed home. Obviously the bar staff there didn't see problem with us. I have a feeling we weren't the "type" of people they prefer to be there. Won't be going back.

Beautiful and a small place to have a hangout, lovely music and you can try your vocals as well on Karaoke with a lot of fun and enjoyment.
Reasonable tap beer ? and full of fun place with easy access. If you visit on Friday night then you will get evening Friday food market just adjoining the place for BBQ food and so on.

On a summer day you can grab a beer and some great food and watch the world go by. Looks like they use the restaurant across the road for food items, which is a great way to have good food all day. Go shopping and relax with a cool drink outside where you can vape legally without a problem.

Unforgettable karaoke experience, we came in on Friday night around 9pm, took some shots and had the best time listening to some karaoke regulars and then trying it out ourselves! The karaoke host was so lovely too, definitely an awesome memory!

Great place to rest on a Sunday afternoon after walking around Sydney. There were $10 cocktails until 5pm! Great atmosphere too.

Terrible service, came in at 9:30pm on a Sunday evening after having dinner with my partner. After a big day of climbing the harbour Bridge and suffering a severe sunburn, the staff insisted on claiming I was drunk. Terrible ending to my first night in Sydney, which could have been avoided if the staff simply listened. Other patrons in were also baffled as to why the staff were giving us such a hard time. Do not recommend.

Nice place to hang out, they have karaoke Friday and Saturday which is amazing!!

I had an amazing Saturday night with friends.

The karaoke night started around 8pmish and I arrived there at 7:30pm to find a good spot for the karaoke night. You can't book a table on Friday and Saturday during the karaoke night.

The lady who ran the karaoke night was lovely and the 3 big screens were big enough to sing together.

The machine was playing up so it stopped a couple of music suddenly and it was random that my name was called for singing.

Good event to mingle with people however if you want to sing properly and don't want to wait for your turn, you need to go to a professional karaoke

Best Margie's in town! Friendly service and they always make sure you're alright. Jimmy went out of his way to make it enjoyable for all of us and we appreciate the service.

What a wonderful atmosphere and experience. Friday night karaoke with a supportive crowd. We felt like we heard the voice of an unexpected angel singing an Italian opera song! Moved us to tears. We will be back if he is a regular at karaoke night! By any chance do you know the name of the song he sang? Please let us know

An excellent place to stop over for a drink while waiting for your Chinatown connection. Strongly recommended for occasions when you're in Haymarket and looking to drink and dash.** Friendly staff, decent beer offering, good location, superior people watching, close to the tram. The main shortcoming (at least IMHO) is that it's not the kind of place (nor is it set up) for a comfy afternoon over several pints. If that's not your concern, bump it up a star or two and get amongst it.

** EDIT: Sorry, blast it, I meant having a quick shandy, not skipping out on the bill.

The whole Covent team provide exceptional good and friendly service. We always feel welcome and have made it our local. Special mention to Chloe who goes out of her way to ensure we are taken care of. What a lovely girl and bubbly personality.

Dropped in here on Sunday after lunch at Holy Duck! Perfect cocktails in a great retro pub. Good music. Loved it!

Depends on what you are here for. Came just for karaoke. Brilliant! Looks like there must be some regular karaoke singers here as they seemed higher standard than normal! Like going to a live gig for free!!! The beer was beautifully freezing! Had a great night.

Great venue; clean, well laid out. Good staff; pleasant, polite, can pour a beer. Cold beer. Buy jugs, not individual beers; otherwise expensive.

The Security Guy with the Tattoos was very helpful he recommended lots of nearby restaurants to try and told me where all the local train stations were which saved me a lot of time getting back to the hotel.

Good location but it was not a nice experience with the staff. I feel ripped off simple having spent money there.

Hey... My kind of place. An old style kind of bar, good aircon, fantastic spring rolls and cold beer. Perfect for me.Also in a good spot for people watching if that's your thing

Great cocktails and friendly service

Majority of patrons are usually an older crowd of 30+ which makes for great Karaoke/atmosphere. Light Rail across road, Central & Town Hall Stations a short stroll and taxis/buses plentiful. Friendly staff & security, great place to sit outside and watch people go about their business.
