Good food, helpful staff, great view of the river from a cool old pub. The frill neck lizards out the back near the river are not the norm and like to sit on the outdoor tables. Good entertainment for the kids

Visiting this place was an absolute delight! The serene view of the water coupled with the lush greenery of the garden created a calming atmosphere. The ribs were incredibly delicious,. I highly recommend this spot for anyone seeking both a scenic retreat and delectable food!

Great hidden gem! I took a punt and stopped here on my journey home and I'm so glad I did! Brilliant old hotel, comfy bed, clean, tidy, everything I needed. Free breakfast stuff in the room, good (no, not good, great) bistro overlooking the river. Shared bathrooms, but there's plenty available, it's an old hotel!!! I really liked this place.

This is a beautiful old hotel that looks over the mighty Clarence River. The views are awesome. The service is friendly, and the food is amazing. Serving sizes when plated up is ample. The desserts are so Moorish. It's a beautiful way to spend a Sunday afternoon. But make sure you book a place first. Otherwise, you will be disappointed because you won't be able to walk in off the street as it pumps the food out.

Situated on the banks of the stunningly beautiful Clarence River, this is a favourite place to go for lunch, or a drink with friends.
The garden área is just lovely. The friendly Water Dragons are very comfortable lazing nearby in the sun. The meals are lovely, and the staff are friendly. If you come by boat, there is a pontoon close by, where you can tie up for 24 hours.

Gorgeous historical hotel, situated on the banks of the Clarence River. The sunsets are breathtaking. You can enjoy a drink or a meal while watching the river. For $89 for two people night which includes a continental breakfast, you can't beat it

Found this by accident, got lost a bit as the phone service was so poor in the area. Needed a stop over lunch and this became the closest one. Worried about the place from the outside but was pleasantly surprised when we went inside. Food was great and service and staff amazing. Highly recommended!!!

One of the best places to eat on the Clarence River, has beautiful shady garden tables on the river, bigger tables under the verandah and Cafe area or tables in the pub. Great food, salad is always decent not just an afterthought, service always with a smile. Highly recommend the chicken parmigiana with chips and salad.

Had a wonderful lunch out the back overlooking the river. Service food and atmosphere was wonderful. Highly recommended. We'll come again and stay next time. All the way from Brizzy for lunch and then back home to Brisbane and it was still worth it. ???'??

Absolutely gorgeous outdoor area on the banks of The Clarence River. The food was fabulous, staff friendly, amenities clean. Small parking area, but plenty of street parking. Disabled access. We've eaten here a couple of times, and definitely intend on returning. Ulmarra is a little bit off the highway nowadays, but well worth the stop for lunch in a scenic, relaxed atmosphere. The dessert range was also a highlight.

We had lunch at Ulmarra Hotel. It's a lovely location, eating in the garden or under cover. The staff are very friendly and service was great. There is a good selection of typical pub food at a reasonable price. We enjoyed the fish and chips and caesar salad.

Food to die for ... Some pubs should visit this place and learn that great food doesn't need to cost an arm and a leg. Chips done in a separate fryer for people with allergies. Bonus.

Great place to stop for Coffee and Cake, or a fantastic pub lunch.
Ulmarra is certainly a great place to stop on the Big River Way.

We had drinks and dinner in the bar as the dining room was fully booked. The staff were very friendly and the Yamba Prawn pizza and the spring rolls were delicious. We bought $10 worth of meat raffle tickets ( you get a free beer when you buy $10 worth) and won a meat tray! We watched the footy and had a great night.

A lovely hotel to stay for the night on the bank of the river. Nicely done up, clean rooms and restaurant with great food and service. The only thing to note is that there's no breakfast or tea making facilities. Cafe opens at 11.

One word - Fantastic.
Full of charm and old style hospitality. The meals are magnificent and they offer an all day snack menu which is great.
The staff know what hospitality is all about.
You wouldn't believe that the Ulmarra Pub is about 15 minutes north of Grafton.
Grafton Pub and club operaters should visit this place to see what hospitality is all about.

This pub is nestled in a really beautiful location on the Clarence River, south of Grafton. I didn't have time to have a meal, but it's got a very big restaurant overlooking the river. Not far from the freeway either and worth while for a stop over.It also has the most unique urinal I've ever seen at any hotel. I took a quick picture of it loz. They're actually beer kegs cut out
