Great activity to do with a small group or family. Driving Range is a favourite activity now with the digital tracking and easy access to balls. Friendly kiosk service to hire a driver. Driving range gets busy at times and have to wait for a booth. Meal and drinks service with QR code is simple and quick. Food is always served hot.

My 5 star review goes to Greg in the Bistro. We had a function here recently & he went above & beyond. The club itself, 0 stars!!

The driving range has recently shortened the rubber tees used with their mats. I was advised I cannot use my own regulation rubber tee to practice with driver. The staff explained this was due to many players hitting balls over the nets onto the golf course.
While I can understand the issue, it is clearly a result of poor planning by the club and results in a less than ideal practicing environment.
This may not be an issue for a complete beginner, however, I imagine any serious player would not be happy working on their driver swing hitting effectively off the deck.

Driving range was amazing with the new technology you can play virtually on courses and compete with others on the top tracer app. The course is very nice and staff are friendly.

A fantastic practice facility, a first for Newcastle. The top tracer technology gives you instant feedback for each shot and very accurate

Great course and feed, driving range is excellent. Charging extra for pay wave and eftpos at the bar is pathetic though.

Good course. With a nice modern driving range. Some holes where undergoing renovations. A shortened tee on the first hole was a little disappointing. The back 9 is a much better layout than the front 9. It's quite a hilly course so if your not in good shape you may need a cart.
The greens and fairways are pretty decent .

Great facilities but lacks a ticketing system and ball limit (e.g. 100 balls per customer/lane) during busy times. Also young children and adults wander close behind other patron. Easy stuff to fix.

Great gold course in excellent condition, variety of challenging holes. Really good driving range with ball tracking, food, and drinks service.

It is a fun place, many games to choose and the chips they have is so crispy and tasty.

Course was nice but not fair letting big groups start on the 10th in front of people already playing. Back 9 took over 2.5hrs due to this. Poor play pro shop.

One of the most affordable golf clubs in Newcastle, and still a high quality course. The driving range is state of the art and you can just rock up and tap your card to get balls dispensed. Reasonably priced drinks for after.

Terribly disappointed as the course was excellent but from the moment we had litterally arrived and stepped out of the car we were instantly attacked by a female staff member for having an esky. Myself and the person I had arrived with could count on one hand the times we had played golf so were unaware we couldn't bring anything and a simple explanation or to inform us in an appropriate matter would have sufficed. I have honestly never been treated so rudely in my
Entire life in a professional or social setting from the moment I've stepped out of a car. Absolutely atrocious!! Against better judgement decided to pay and play 18 holes. At 9 holes we returned to the club house to get lunch and use the restroom and were told by the same lady to hurry up and get back out there as it's a busy day and were forced to drink and eat our food uncomfortably fast.
On the 12th hole this same staff member donned the fluoro vest with a colleague chased us down to where we were playing and wrongly accused us for only paying for 9 holes. After finding out she was mistaken she stormed off in a rush without any apology. I'm sure anyone reading this would think surely there has to be another side to this story but sadly there is not. There was no just cause from the start for the awful treatment received at this establishment. If myself or anyone behaved in the manner she did we would not still have employment at our place of business or anywhere I have been or heard of in my lifetime.

Great club. Nice cold beers after the game. Course can be testy, but magnificent vistas. Greens are slick and well tended. Thumbs up to the greenkeepers with the traffic it must get. New driving range that was well patronised when I was there. Friendly staff made it a pleasant outing. Highly recommend!

Excellent golf course, and clubhouse! Friendly happy staff, excellent grounds keepers, course is always in good shape! Very happy being a member!

Visited the range twice now, great facility, ball tracker was a bit glitchy the first time around missing a fair few, but was great the second only missing 1 ball out of the 100 I hit.

Quite unhappy with the man at the front desk as he refused to hire me and my disability client who is in a wheelchair a biggie because he didn't was to play a game of golf but wanted to watch and get fresh air.
A bit harsh if you ask me and as someone that enjoys golf I will never go here again

New range is fantastic. The facilities are 10/10 the range bays all have monitors to track your statistics and if you wish you can play a selection of mini games. Awesome set up and staff were lovely. Also the schnitzels are nice too ;)

Had the pleasure of using Greg and his crew for catering and event on the weekend. I know his food is great but wow we had 150 people blown away with how good the food was and how professional they are well done guys, was the worst weekend for bad weather and roads flooded but Greg was amazing. If you need and event catered for you cant go past Greg Sinclair.

beautiful landscape with clean sensitised golf carts. A phenomenal bar that sells mouth watering milkshakes.

Greens on front nine in better shape than the back nine

I like this course but the greens really disappoint, for mine.Too sloped on the front and too two paved on the back spoils an otherwise pleasant course

Attempted to book in a group 20 avid golfers today for a game of golf 1 month in advance. All with Australian Golf Link numbers keen to try out apparently an extremely social course that welcomes "social golf everyday". Following the "must book with pro shop no walk ons" I was road blocked in any attempted to book in, asking when booking sheets were released and even suggesting we play comp at separate times. I was turned away abruptly.Wouldn't recommend at all by the service I received at the "Pro Shop" and will happily spend my money at one of their competitors

Good venue with great views, limited choice of menu items, but the meal served was excellent. # Give the Charlestown Golf Club a try for a meal in very pleasant surroundings.
