Freshly re-opened, the Capertee pub has now become a regular stop for me on this route. Previously, I would drive on by but since changing hands, the new operators seem to have a fresher and more modern way of doing business. The rooms are cleaner, the food is freshly made now and of a great alacarte standard. Of note for the beer drinker would be the pub standards along with some craft inclusions. Any pub with more than one Coopers tap will always grab my attention. Aesthetically, the vintage timber, stone and iron features within make the bar room a really inviting space. The dining room is very fresh and modern with a good outlook to the rear. While I didn't count them, there would easily be ten or more rooms above the pub, making this a cool cruise location for an overnight stay or even party venue? My partner made particular mention of the wonderful renovation in the ladies powder room too.
I drive the Sydney-Mudgee road very frequently; and while there isn't really anything else in Capertee to stop for, the Pub is well worth it as a drive/revive leg stretch.
