First the good news: the pizzas taste good, and they have reasonably priced beers, and a decent selection from which to choose.

Now the main event. The service is shocking.

My best guess is that whoever bought and renovated the pub in recent years thinks they own a high end gastro pub. The decor, lighting, menu, branding, etc all point towards higher aspirations (which I have no problem with). But they obviously resent the clientele they attract, and this culture has flowed down to all the managers and then to the service staff.

When I go to a bar and have to interrupt a conversation to order a drink, it's all good. But when the people who I'm interrupting act as though I'm ruining their night... and it's not just me: everyone who I've been here with has reported the same thing. All genders and ethnicities are equally treated here.

After having been there a few times I can say that I was served by exactly one person who smiled.

What a shame. Could be super nice. In the hospitality industry, it pays to be hospitable.

Their pizza is the best in this area by a long shot. The bases are ridic thin and just perfect. The flavours are just awesome.

We went for a group dinner and were seated in the courtyard. The food was quite good especially the pizzas, staff were good but not around frequently enough to order drinks, courtyard was cold could have had more heaters.

Overall: Decent Italian food, especially by pub standards, not expensive, pretty good place.

A truly great inner-city pub. Fantastic food, excellent service, and great vibe. The boss there, Phil, was a fantastic host...looking forward to coming back!

A great pub to visit for any occasion, the Camelia Grove has an indoor pub and restaurant area with screens for watching sports, and an outdoor beer garden with heaters, that's dog friendly.

They have a good choice of beer and wines and serve delicious Italian food! The pizzas are traditional wood fired, Italian style pizzas and the pastas are freshly made. They have a nice selection of antipasti with items such as freshly made focaccia, delicious burrata and a generous antipasti plate.

If you're looking for a parmi or a pub steak, there are plenty of venues serving that. If you're after amazing Italian food, in a cozy pub that you can bring your furry friend to, choose the Camelia Grove!

Came here as part of a photography course, they used the back room for some modelling shots in the morning and we had pizza for lunch - and oh my, been looking for somewhere that made good pizzas since Renzo's and Johnny Gio's closed down in Tempe/Newtown.

Came back today with my partner to grab one of their delicious pizzas again and they enjoyed the Sunday Roast which was Porchetta this week, soft, juicy and crispy crackling.

We hadn't been here before and decided to try it out when it popped up on Google.

So glad we did! The food was amazing - hearty portions without being overwhelming, friendly staff and great ambience.

We'll definitely be back.

Since the new owners have come in this pub has been transformed into a real neighbourhood gem. Brilliant food, beautiful Mediterranean-style outdoor areas, and a fab beer and wine list. Recommended!

Alexandria's 150-year old pub @Cameliagrove serves the best pizza and pasta. The modern Italiano bistro also includes live music and welcomes furry friends. ?

We also had the opportunity to try the latest edition Fiotente spritz. It's light and refreshing, perfect for the summer holidays

Awesome place for food and drinks. The newly renovated building is very nice with a great atmosphere for outdoor dining. The woodfire pizza is very tasty. 100% recommend.

Best place for a Saturday arvo. They've recently renovated and the courtyard is so beautiful. Food was exquisite!

The woodfire bread is better than Totti's. By a country mile. I eat here very regularly, and the food never disappoints. Please bring back the Amatriciana pasta. That was my favourite. Staff are very friendly and really look after you. Wine list is lit, with many good options. Courtyards are cute.

We had our engagement party here and I couldn't recommend it enough. Gillian and the staff were incredibly helpful in planning the event and were so easy to work with. On the day, it was raining so we moved the event indoors.

the chefs and staff did an amazing job and service was amazing, if anyone needed anything they were into it. I couldn't thank everyone enough for their help in planning our special day.

The interiors are beautiful, the bistro and the beer garden are amazing and great spaces!

Gem in Alexandria that I can take my doggie to and get the BEST pizza in town. Great little local pub but attracting people from near and far for its quiet location and fabulous food. The staff are super friendly and the Manager is fantastic. Nice little courtyard. Highly recommend!

We had the funghi pizza and chips. The pizza was very very good. Nice authentic base. (Good chips too).

Second visit in two weeks to take advantage of a lovely night in the back courtyard. Still ironing out some service kinks, but the food is great. Highly suggest reviewing the tap beers, they are not going to cut it in this neighbourhood!

Now run by Hunger Hospitality. Signs went up in January 2021 (Now June 2021) saying it will reopen in 6 weeks. I've been given repeated false information since then.
