My partner and I have been to a couple of the beer events that the Burwood has hosted. The events were fantastic. The pub itself is incredibly beautiful and sophisticated whilst also encapsulating a very cozy and relaxing vibe. Tony and Sandra are extremely friendly and inviting. I recommend the Burwood Inn very highly to all!

Came for lunch on a random Thursday. Dining room was just over half full.

Definitely a meat centric menu but still solid options for vegetarians/ pescatarians.

Winter menu featured a few pumpkin based items - highly recommend the tandoori pumpkin pizza.

The sweetest lady was running front of house solo today. She was so on top of things! Brought us some house made tomato based sweet chili sauce... that was well worth it.

Amazing Staff!

Recently we had a 30th Birthday at the Burwood and I couldn't speak more highly about the staff and the space.

The staff at the bar, the staff assigned to the party and the kitchen were all amazing. So easy to deal with, friendly and professional. All other establishments should be taking notes.

The space provided out the back was great with plenty of room but also plenty of seating. Just a great space, very beautiful.

And the food was delicious.

I would go back to the burwood for the service alone.

Do yourself a favour and go have a drink at this hidden gem.

We came in for a quick lunch Good Friday. Service and food top notch. Scotch fillet with mushroom gravy excellent. The gravy didn't at all taste like the usual packet mix. Wife loved the barramundi special. Can't wait to come back, worth the drive from Sydney.

The owner Tony and his brilliant staff are what made our stay awesome. Room and bathrooms were good and clean and just what we needed. We got a light breakfast to start us off on our day too. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Thanks so much everyone.

Netty. Was. Here. Undisputedly the best place to get steaks in Newcastle. High quality marble scores, a variety of cuts, 100% Australian sourced beef.

I had the sirloin as recommended by the chef as the preferred cut to cook medium rare. It was, like all the times I've eaten here before; PERFECT!

Beautiful table settings both indoors and outdoors. Always a popular spot so I do recommend making bookings. Or be like me and hook in as soon as the kitchen opens.

This place seriously has the best steaks I have ever eaten. I had a rib eye and my partner had eye fillet. The best steaks are here. I have eaten steaks at some of the finest steakhouses in Canberra and other parts of Australia but the steak here wins hands down there is no comparison. If you are in the area and want a good steak this is the only place to go.

Such a beautiful venue! We had my daughters christening lunch here- a group of around 20 people. They kindly allocated us the beautiful courtyard all to our selves. Everyone commented on how nice the courtyard was and also how delicious the food and drinks were. The service was great also! So glad we chose to have our event here :)

The Burwood Inn what a beautiful establishment, the interior was very rustic and homely what a great atmosphere. Was there for the steak (had the 300g sirloin) was cooked to perfection and the friendly staff was always on hand to make it an unforgettable evening with friends. Highly recommend, a good time was had by all.

The steak was so good! I got a medium rare eye fillet and it was amazing! I will say though, it was a bit more medium, but still delicious! The ambience was really nice as well, and the staff were super happy to accommodate us on a Saturday night without a booking, so that was great!

Great atmosphere, great service, staff were wonderful. We had the cutlets which were great and the schnitty with Dianne sauce. Best Dianne sauce I've had in years but I'm really sorry the schnitty was not that great. It was overcooked (burnt) and tough and dry. Next time I'd have a steak. But would definitely go back.

A very good place to stay in Newcastle. Very clean rooms, very clean shared bathrooms, a great kitchen with a small breakfast. Enough towels! We went to eat once. Even as a vegetarian there was a very tasty dish. I would always recommend it!

I really enjoyed it here; for my 50th birthday (yikes) I searched for a good steak restaurant in Newcastle and the Burwood Inn was highly recommended. I hadn't previously been aware of it. I came here with my family and the ambience was very pleasant, the service was great, and the steak I had was terrific. Really flavoursome. My family also enjoyed their burgers and other items too.

I will definitely come back; it was a great experience all around.

What a fantastic venue this is. We had our daughters engagement dinner there last night with 20 people. The service was impeccable. The food was amazing and the whole experience was fantastic. The Burwood Inn is our favourite local place to eat, it never disappoints! We had dinner there recently and it was all so delicious- it's the kind of place where foods you wouldn't normally like are prepared in a way that makes them taste great. Can't wait to sit out in the courtyard again when it's a bit warmer!

Lovely warm ambience in the restaurant which had a flame fire burning plus it was a real surprise to see such a pretty place behind the hotel. Food was good, usual fare with a few exceptions which gave the menu a more European twist. Reasonably priced and something for everyone. Pub had a live band which was excellent. Reminded us of being in a typical pub in Liverpool (UK). Friendly and fun. Good night out. Would recommend.

I highly recommend going to this place. The steaks are seasoned very well ,juicy and tender and sourced from very reputable farmers with marble ratings which is hard to find in a good restaurant and they proudly state it on the menu. The staff were incredibly friendly and very welcoming. The environment was very relaxing. And it's perfect for a date. And it's worth the 2 hour drive from Sydney.

Best steak I've ever had. The best waiter ever Chris looked after us from the get go. Juiciest rump ever. Truffle butter was to die for.

Excellent steaks and great service. Super staff that go above and beyond to take care of reservations. The bar staff are also friendly. A great example of a fine pub. Support the small local places that outdo the rest.

Best pub and hotel ever! Stopped by on way down the coast. Was a busy Sat eve - bit worried might be noisy. Nope! REALLY good value. The rooms and halls and bathrooms - clean-as & lovely. The food GREAT! Super friendly owners & staff too. Will deliberately come this way again just to stay here. Great place!

Great food and service. This was my first time at this bar, and I will go there again. I had the mushroom pizza, which was tasty. All the meals were generous sizes.

A wonderful place to stay! The owners and staff were amazing and went out of their way to look after us. The restaurant was truly superb... the atmosphere was fantastic and the meals really are true to the awards that they've won.
It was the best stay and was perfectly located to Lingard Hospital.
