Bistro & food was awesome. Excellent quality and decent value. Great to see all the improvements happening!

Had lunch here with some friends. Great meals and the prices are good.
The pub has just been renovated. Looks nice inside. The staff were really nice.
The only complaint we had was the veges weren't hot.
We had burgers, snitzels crumb cutlets and they were all great.
Most of us came from different areas not close by except for one who lives in Medowie.
The others came from Stroud, Singleton, Fernbay, Elermorevale and Maryland.
We would all definitely go back again.

We got food at the bistro, was one of the first people to order and the food still took over 45 minutes. When it came out the steak my partner ordered was well done, not rare like he asked. Service was good and friendly though. And the food tasted fine.

Rooms very basic but clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. We had to wait a long time for our meals and my steak was more medium well than medium that I had ordered. I still enjoyed the evening because they have great patrons that added to the atmosphere.
I would go back.

Worst experience I have ever had in an establishment. We waited 2&1/2 hrs for food. Was here for a 60th birthday booked in advance. 4 couples from our table had to leave without having a meal.when the meals did arrive they were not complete meals. Seafood topper on steaks cost $8 & was UNEDIBLE. prawns used in the sauce were like rubber. People getting refunds left right & centre. on the up side the bar staff were good, so to have a beer here is ok. But do not book this place for any function. as all the planning & effort of getting these people together was wasted & a 60th birthday ruined.

ALL staff are great. Food is excellent, great pricing, rooms are comfortable.
First stay was great, this time it was like coming home. Made to feel welcomed back. When working away from home there's no feeling like you are welcome.

We've stayed here once before and had the perfect time. We booked to stay again after Christmas this year but ended up having our car break down on our way up. The people at bull n bush were kind enough to offer us a refund for our stay which we understand can be a big ask. We were really looking forward to our holiday in medowie and port stephens but unfortunately couldn't make it so despite the inconvenience for everyone, having our stay refunded last minute makes things a bit better for us and is something we really appreciate. Would recommend staying here to anyone. :)

The worst steak and salad I have ever had ! If it was Scotch Fillet it must have been the oldest beast ever !!! The chips were the only saving grace !

Nice meal great beer out standing service well worth a try .

We had to find last minute accommodation as the place we booked in February decided to contact me 3 days out from a wedding we were attending telling me that they didn't think their accommodation was going to work as they had and were still completing renovations.
I called the Bull and Bush and they not only had a room for us we were able to check in an our early so we could get ready without the last minute rush.
The room was clean and comfortable.
We enjoyed a drink and luch at the pub, definitely wear your eating pants as the servings were huge.
I would definitely recommend both the pub and motel.

Person infront of bistro argued they they didn't get their order wrong. They didn't even stop to listen that what we ordered we didn't get. Paid for more than what we got. Not happy, travelled from Darwin.

This is the biggest hole in the wall. Rude staff, disgusting food/food poisoning, expensive drinks, 3 dollars for pool, a dollar to choose a song and they can't even put the footy on in the pool room. The only pub venue in medowie with so much potential and it's run by incompetent people who don't care about the patrons.

Great bar staff and beer garden area but unfortunately food was not so great, possibly bad luck because we ordered during a busy period, but it was obvious the kitchen could not handle the orders.
Also a fair amount of the gaming machines had errors and so we were unable to play.
Nice venue around though, would definitely go back for another beverage.

Great bar and cleaning staff - friendly and accommodating. Meals are excellent, good servings and the chips are great. Nice surroundings and a very pleasant experience overall.

100% the best. Service, food and the locals. Try the ribs, they are to die for. The pork cutlet is massive and cooked well. I'll drive all the way over there again for a feed.

New to Medowie, been to the Bull and Bush for dinner and beers twice, both times the food was fantastic (Parmi & Rump steak). The kitchen and bar staff are very friendly here.

We've been stuck at home for a few days the rain so excited and we went for a drive to Medowie we stopped off at the Boolin bush hotel motel we ordered a meal and we got steak well the steak was like fairy floss it was well cooked and the veggies was great haven't had veggies for awhile anyway if you're coming past the Boolin bush hotel call-in have a meal or a beer or just come in and relax from MWH

Great little pub for a cheap feed! Came here for a work lunch and everyone left feeling really full. Beer garden is definitely the best place to sit and eat.

New to town, tried the local pub for food. 2 times all up but never again. Food is basically heated up, and something out of a frozen food isle that you can take home and heat up yourself. Very pricey for what you get. Veggies are pretty standard only peas and carrots. Please pick your game up in the kitchen.

It was clean and had quite a moderate size room. Perfect for the price that they charge.

Best place for a cold one in medowie.

Nice reception by friendly staff at arrival. My wife and I stayed overnight due to a family wedding. The room was clean and well presented. Recommended if you're passing through and need a place to rest.

Overall a fairly decent place but only the dirty kettle got to us.
