Great Pub and GREAT food went for a reunion whcih occurs every Year and despite our numbers being in excess of 20 persons no one had an excessive wait for their meal. Great cold beers and variety.

A relaxed Sunday lunch. Comfortable well spaced bistro area, few hard surfaces so not noisy and helpful staff. A regular venue for us.

I really loved staying there. Nice, friendly hotel with comfortable rooms. Shared bathrooms which give you a lot of privacy though - own sink in the rooms. Very friendly owners, good location and nice atmosphere with the pub downstairs. Would love to stay there again :)

Good looking pub, and good marks across everything, except the food.

Had a $30 prawn salad , mostly spinach with undercooked prawns. The chicken burger was also average with not many chippies.

The chicken snitzel was good tho.

Stopped here for dinner the night before the Sydney marathon. Food was ok, not exceptional but still good. I had the pappardelle pasta, which was a slow cooked lamb ragu pasta. This was reasonably tasty, but came out super quick which made me suspicious. My partner, who is pescatarian, couldn't find many options so decided on the kids meal pasta. Overall I'd probably give this 3.5 stars.

Great place to stay for a weekend in the city. Just a ferry or train trip away from the CBD. Had dinner here which was also good. Saw some poor reviews, but it appears to have been refurbished since then. Beds big, clean and comfy. We'll stay again.

Was a little hit and miss with the food. Mine was nice but someone else on our table had a chunk of plastic in it. The female server walked past our table 5 times before cleaning our finished plates and always avoided eye contact. Drink service at the bar was fast but it seemed like a hassle every time we ordered a drink and didn't get friendly or welcoming service.
Live music was great and nice vibe.

I have been here a few times now and it's a lovely old school venue . Great wine selection and the food is tasty. The staff are very welcoming.

Hi guys I came in 6 Weeks ago the food tasted 1 Star and a 1/10 , Dirty Bathrooms, Why would you manager allow dogs into a pub where people are eating , Staff also very rude and unhelpful, The 350g Scotch Filet was dry overcooked and Chewy , The Chips were also under seasoned and chewy Once again I am very disappointed about this pub being dog friendly the owners were lovely to the dogs but not to me

2. Better Staff
3. Better Food
4. Cleaner Bathrooms
5. The Meal too Overpriced
6. The Chairs were very wonky
7. The place smelt entirely of Mould

The 350g Scotch Filet and Chips the staff charged me $400 instead of $40 the whole meal was such a disappointment I walked away super unwanted at this Pub.

Staff are friendly, atmosphere is nice, however the burger is really bad. Grislely meat, stale flaky bun, looks like an entire bottle of garlic sauce. Not worth the $24 we paid. Didn't eat it.

Great spot. If you don't know what a meat raffle is give it a try+ the pub, food and drinks are good and worth a visit

It is a hostel/backpacker. The room doesn't come with air conditioning. You need to open the window for more ventilation. However, the hotel is located on a main street. The car sound is quite loud if you are light sleeper. And more importantly, the room doesn't come with toilet, it is shared toilet. We overlooked it when we book the room. We have to search for other room to change hotel.

Stayed here for a small getaway to Sydney from Newcastle. Upon check-in we were greeted nicely by the bar staff. The room we got was not bad. Humble and cosy in size and simple but pleasant bed set-up. It had a beautiful terrace to sit out on but unfortunately time didn't allow us for that. I personally would have preferred air-condition rather than the fan on the ceiling. It did have a window you could open for ventilation but it didn't have any screen to leave open overnight. The food we ordered was really good. Nice selections of burgers and deals for the day.

The place is strategically located near the ferry point. The place is quiet and comfortable with a shared bath and kitchen.
Downstairs you can find the bar to hang around and many other places nearby to enjoy wine, pizazz, Italian food, and Indian cuisine.

This place is just amazing, incredible cheap for their services and quality.
We arrived without booking at their rush time in the reception, and not even 15 minutes after we get in our private room under 150AUD.
The bed ?/ shower ?/ location everything is just fine, clean and comfortable.
One of our best last minute choices. ??

Quaint little pub nestled in a gorgeous location. Food is always on point, and staff and management are fantastic. Hands down my favourite on the North shore. Please don't change ya formula

Stayed only one night but the room was excellent. Clean and recently decorated. Comfortable bed. Great location. Just a shame I couldn't try the food and beer.

Great bar staff. Feels like a pub should do. I win the raffle often, good place to meet friends. Will see if they scrubbed off the mould when I visit with interstate people tonight. Update - it's been cleaned -fab

We stayed here for our last night of a three week trip and it was perfect. The room was renovated recently and was done well. We love the bathroom and the bed was super comfortable. Dinner and beers at the pub below was a great last dinner in Australia. The manager and staff were friendly and very helpful during our stay.

I used to love coming here in my lunch breaks to sit and enjoy a beer and lunch on the awesome balcony deck out back up the stairs, but the neighbours noise complaints sadly means patrons are no longer allowed up there - it's such a shame! The balcony had a beautiful view of the harbour, it was amazing on a sunny day. I still drop in occasionally in hopes other things improve... theres rarely anything for vegetarians or vegans on the menu and the service is now pretty average, it feels like they don't want to be there which isn't pleasant. I was just charged $17 for a spritz when they used to be $14 - there was still a chalk board saying they were $14 up at the bar... you'd think they'd give you the price they're actually advertising them for when you point it out, but no. I'm currently sitting in the corner lounge and there's black mould on the ceiling above the old fireplace. Not great!

Great little pub. Usually nice and quiet with great food and friendly staff.

Great old Skool pub. Rooftop is beautiful and peaceful. Downstairs area is very comfortable. Good quality price. Drinks not expensive. Definitely a great place to visit with a few mates.

The chef here is great. I recommend the curries and roasts. Sometimes a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. In summer, sit up on the roof deck with views of the water. It's a great local gem.

The food is surprisingly nice, great place to have a drink with friends. The rooftop terrace has lovely views for sunset. Big enough to host an event like a birthday party. A good place for locals.
