Fairly standard western sydney pub. Cheap beer, quick service, dim lights.

The room is modern and comfortable but had a weird smell. It looks like there was a water leak recently. Hallways needs renovation.

The room was clean, but no kettle.
The other guests were atrocious. Typical western Sydney rabble rousers with no consideration for other guests. For example: slamming of doors in the early hours of the morning, speaking in loud manner like they were foghorns, guests continuing to party well into the early hours of the morning, young lunatics trespassing and accessing the foyer setting the fire alarm. Management did not even attend to the fire alarm or to reassure the guests. The fire brigade was not called to make an assessment to deem it as a false alarm.

The icing on the cake: gastroenteritis from the pub attached to the motel.

This motel's saving grace was it's young, female receptionist. This was a trip to watch the Knights play against Penrith. Not a vacation.

The rooms at this place are huge, really comfortable beds and has a really nice spa bath in the massive bathroom. Excellent value for money.

How good is the service at the blue cattle dog hotel. Stayed 2 nights for a golf trip. Best time I've ever had, Dani's banter and quick, efficient service made our 2 night stay very enjoyable.
We will be back as long as Dani is pouring the Carlton dry.

It's probably a great place for locals and tradies. Nice building, nice set-up. Even have Young Henry's on tap, although it tastes like they don't shift much... The fact that all the parking spaces closest are reserved for the pokie players probably tells you all you need to know!

Not a bad joint in my opinion. Beers cold, food is awesome and the banter from the staff is A grade! Will definitely be back.

The rooms had an excellent standard of cleanliness and the staff were fantastic - really helpful and friendly. although one staff member up in accommodation stood out more for my wife and i think she said (keagan) was her name.
My wife and I are in our late 60's and we were struggling with our luggage and walking up the stairs wife has a walking stick so she was finding it difficult, this amazing Young lady who had finished already popped her bag down in reception area she then proceed to take our 2 suitcases up the stairs to our room then come back down to help my wife up the stairs.
We have stayed at plenty of hotels over the years and NEVER have we had this level of service from a housekeeper.
She went above and beyond for Us

Went in for dins. Had the schnitty, parma, steak, ribs, onion rings and garlic bread. Food was great, ribs were succulent, schnitzel was moist and crunchy, steak perfectly cooked. Service was very welcoming and efficient. Food came out pretty quick and everyone at the table got served the same time. Venue itself was quite nice and didnt appear outdated or tatted. Very clean premises with a nice childrens play area also.

Absolutely fantastic experience, was not expecting to be blow away, but wow!

My son and wife both had chicken schnitzel, both tender and crumbed beautifully. Lots of carrots for the veg, with some broccoli and a small disc of corn. My wife had the smaller serving and couldn't finish it.

My daughter had the penne bolognese, it was so tasty that I would have been happy with it.

My steak was cooked medium rare (I asked for rare). It was flavorsome, but a little gristly.

Onion rings were lightly fried and had real onion in them. A little oil heavy, but they are deep fried.

Overall really impressed with the meals!

Moved back to the area and was extremely disappointed to see how down hill this pub has gone.
Restaurant have some lovely staff and food has improved since returning after covid.
As for the pub itself I would not recommend. Management are on a power trip and do not know how to hold an adult conversation about a matter and do not know how to converse with customers. They would rather pull faces at you behind the bar then to come out and greet any customers.
Very disappointing to have management not return calls merely because they refuse to resolve any issues. Now before you respond to tell me to contact you if I have any issues, we have tried multiple times but your ego has got in the way of obtaining real customer service.

Only good thing about this place is they have karaoke on Sunday night. Staff are nice but close early. Foods good but was better back in the day.

While waiting to have dinner with my family this afternoon I witnessed a member of staff behave appallingly. The staff member named "Shelly" thought it was appropriate to put another customer on show carrying on. It was disappointing to see customers being treated in such a manner and I do not intend on returning.

Thankyou for your response however I am not part of any 'friend circle' that you are suggesting. I will assume management at this establishment is struggling as they are now projecting their issues onto other customers which is very disappointing to see. It is not a pleasant experience to go out for a meal and watch customers be abused regardless of the situation. I can see why your staff have issues if that is the way they handle problems. As I result I would say the reviews you are receiving are quite justified.

Rooms and bathrooms were ok! Other than receptionist, staff was not friendly as much as I got the feeling that maybe it's just me, I am not white that's why! Overall experience wouldn't go there ever again and would not recommend to any of my family and friends!

Wasn't a bad place to stay, the beds were pretty good. My complaints are the price and that they didnt have a microwave or toaster in a family room. Just a way to get you to spend more money at there eatery downstairs, the room was pricey enough.

The Blue Cattle Dog Hotel is not a Queer/LGBTQIA friendly pub. The staff kicked a young baby Butch women out for swaying a little yet allowed a man with blood all over his shirt who was involved in a physical fight with two women to stay in the venue. This man was aggressive and inappropriate towards patrons the entire night.

The band, The Frocks, handled the actual fight extremely well while security took their time and showed little leadership skills with approximately five minutes to attend and EVENTUALLY broke up the fight yet violence continued on a minor level, it did in fact continue. The Frocks were amazing and set three was was pumping with dancing and joy yet security still pinpointed and overly focused on the young baby Butch.

I was unable to dance with my date without people deliberately and drunkenly falling all over us. Some was very scary. Some was innocent mishaps. None was monitored or averted by hotel staff.

As a Queer Femme, I am unlikely to ever to attend this venue again. It is unsafe.

Great for families. The indoor play area is genius. Staff are nice. The food is delicious.

Clean and tidy room. I stayed in the queen and single room. Bathrooms spotless and the bed is super comfortable. Will definitely be staying here again.

Check in effortless, room clean and location central to everything we needed. Beds clean and very very comfortable tidy basic amenities in room however the 1 downside was it lacked having microwave to reheat food. otherwise good for price and service was awesome

We love the food at the Cattle dog always the best, but I must say the service that Janelle provides to everyone is 10/10. We always watch her run off her feet and always wonder where is her help.. Janelle always smiling and up for a quick chat..

Nice pub, great service all round from the bistro to the bar, highly recommended.

Great location, not far off the freeway but not too much road noise. Meals in the bistro were tasty, and the staff were all friendly and helpful, and responded to our enquiries promptly. Beds were comfortable and rooms were clean and tidy, would definately stay again and recommend to others

We stayed for 5 nights and everything was great. They had a port-a-cot we could use, great housekeeping, lovely staff. Overall, a top place.

Awesome steak dinners cooked as requested and delivered super fast. We ate on a Tuesday night.whennit wasn't too busy but enjoyed our meals. Chips were delicious. Highly recommend

Best Schnitzel you can get in Sydney west without going out to country. Few old regulars, punters and tradies keep any rabble-rousers in check and the staff are great. Fantastic for family meals or a quick catch up with beers and a chin wag with mates. Always feel great visiting old blue.

Smells better than alot of other pubs. Bar staff are relaxed casual and do a great job. Great place to stop for an after work couple of drinks. Can't wait to try the food. I'm sure it will be 5 star worthy too

First time here went for dinner, foods is delicious and generous portion nice fresh and tasty well.

Lunch was great I ordered the Thai beef salad was a big portion and very fresh.Then sat and enjoyed a few hours of drinks. Nice and chill.

My local since 1985... sorry to say we choose not to frequent it often these days. Food is good at the bistro, but even after the renos of a few years back, it still needs attention. Dining chairs are all damaged, ladies toilets have never been pleasant, but to have doors that don't have a lock on them And who pays $7 for a schooner No wonder we prefer the RSL up the road.

I have to say the bar staff are amazing and the cleaners were just so helpful Sue you are just amazing.You're just a wonderful lady with such a big heart I will recommend the rest of my family to stay as well. Only been here 3 nights and cannot fault anything. Rob, Sue, and all the bar staff went absolutely over and above what I expected. So helpful, polite and respectful, nothing was too much for them all. Got 4 more days to go and feeling happy and comfortable. Have stayed at similar establishments but this place takes the cake. Looking forward from now on on to make The Blue Cattle Dog my first point of stay from now on as I visit family in the area quite often. Keep up the good work !
