Brilliant food. Can never fault it. Sometimes there's a bit of a delay in receiving the food but that's understandable as they're always so busy which shows that people are coming back on regular occasions for the food. Shout out to Jack the chef. Great food guys. Definitely budget and family friendly.

Enjoyed Christmas in July for lunch today with friends. The main meal was perfect, the Turkey and ham were cooked to perfection and generous serves. The vegetables were tasty with honeyed carrots, sweet corn, and potatoes. The dessert of pavlova and chocolate dessert were the best. The tables were decorated for Christmas and in all a top meal. Have never had a bad meal at the Big Fish. Will be back again.

Dinner is a good bang for buck, worth the price and the portions are decent, u won't finish up hungry l. Kids meals could feed an adult.

The food and atmosphere was great. A relaxed vibe. I thought this work be a great place for a family until I saw the topless waitress in the bar. I have zero issues with topless wait staff but this was in plane view of kids. A door or some kind of separate area from the main dining space would be appropriate

Love this place. It's a great place to catchup, right off the Bruce Highway. Perfectly in the middle of the Sunshine Coast/Bribie Island/Brisbane for long distance "meet in the middle" lunches.
Lovely food and very quick service.

Atmosphere is lacking, but please dont let that put you off. Boring can be good when the staff are great and the food is way better than average pub grub. We have been a couple of times in the last month and the food is consistently good.

Great place to stop and have a bite to eat. A really good range of affordable dishes in a traditional open plan tavern atmosphere.

No canned lemonade though. Chivas Regal or Dimple Whiskey would be a good addition to the bar fir those that would like a higher end drop.

I really enjoyed the $20 250 gram rump plate. The steak was cooked perfectly. Well done.

Not bad for a pub feed, good size meal, and certainly can't complain about the prize with the daily specials tonight was Rib 'n' Rump with Salad and Chips for only $27.90. Ribs were tender, falling off the bone and the flavours were well balanced, chips were super seasoned and the salad had lots of dressing. The steak was cooked medium rare, tender only a little grisly but otherwise tasty

Grew up in the area but never really came here before last night.

The food was amazing, most of our group had to get takeaway containers because we couldn't finish it all. Entree wedges were equivalent to what I'd expect of a main, heaps of different parmigiana style toppings for chicken schnitzel but even the schnitzel itself was beautifully cooked. I had an entree and main that came to $30, but the food was definitely worth it. Jug of coke set us back $10 but it served three of us twice over (maybe more).

Service was very naturally friendly, didn't feel like it was forced or "customer service" friendly. Kitchen messed up my order but they remade it and let us keep the messed up one as well, which made everyone at the table happy (who doesn't love an extra plate of cheesy garlic bread?)

Overall, hands down a good place for a casual family dinner. Highly recommended if you're in the area.

Went for lunch on Sunday. Had the good old classic chicken parmigiana. Chips were good, chicken was nice as it is real chicken used not frozen stuff. But unfortunately they had melted the cheese that much that it had burnt down the sides of the chicken, wasn't pleasant.

Out of eight people I was told my meal would be five minutes. 15 minutes later I went up to ask for my meal and was told it would be ready soon as the chief was standing talking with everyone. Ended up the meal was sitting there getting cold.
Gave them a four star for atmosphere as I was there with family and their over priced drinks keep me happy. Would not recommend!

The portion of the meal is large, cheap, and the environment is large, very suitable for dinner

Haven't been here since before Covid19. Atmosphere has improved. Menu is good, price is reasonable, food quality average. Drinks, be nice if they filled the glasses but the bit that annoyed me most was when they swooped in took my drink away before I'd finished it. Ripped off at the start and the end. Up till then I was thinking I might have to come back and support my local. Yeah nahhh.

Came tonight and it happened to be Chicken Schnitzel night. We got two of these, and OMG! Amazing. So many topping choices. And the chicken itself, cooked to perfection. Seriously, very easy to over to and be dry. These were thick and cooked amazingly. The young lady at the bar was really nice too. Only newish but service was great. Thanks for dinner guys

Great pub, great staff, great service, but the food was just under top quality. Was good, but could have been a bit better. Having said that, we will be going back.

We have not been here before as we are new to the area, I must say the food is NOT to die for, the chips were stale and the Parmigiana Burger had a very burnt taste to it, to add to that it wasn't that busy and it still took over 20 minutes to get the meal, it was very disappointing. In saying that the wait staff a very pleasant, but they don't cook. We did mention the experience to the staff but it was ignored with no feedback.
We will not return

I attended a Chamber Function at the Big Fish Tavern. The staff were ultra friendly and helpful. Modern premises. The patrons were raving about the size and quality of the meals. I will return with friends to sample the fare firsthand. The outdoor function area was ideal. A big thanks to the Big Fish Tavern for their hospitality.

First time here for dinner. Booked a table thank goodness. The place was packed. Meals were great but a bit cold. Staff were great very friendly and helpful. Will be back.

First time visiting this place. It was ok. The meals are large and they look great, but unfortunately was average tasting. Neither the wife nor myself finished our meals. The current carparking situation is horrendously bad. Restaurant area is on the small side. Staff were friendly.

I have been a regular lunchtime customer for many years upto 3 years ago when I was overseas, have held 2 Xmas lunchtime functions for my staff a few years ago and was never disappointed with the food ,service since returning from overseas have been 3 times for lunch during the week and had my usual steak and was not disappointed like nothing had changed
Last Sunday took 3 people for lunch and the fish special and was bitterly disappointed service was great as usual no complaints there however the battery on all the fish meals was dark drown almost burnt I would guess the oil they were cooked in needed a change I only ate half my fish ,the bowl of salad which I have always enjoyed was terrible couple bits of tomato and something that resemble cucumber and a heap of different lettuce leafs which resemble a bowl of grass, hello go back to your salad and dressing of old I have to say in what at guess would be at least 75 + meals there over the years this is the first time I have been disappointed

Disappointed in the attitude of the manager, the meat in the stir-fry was off, the manager wouldn't hear of it and assumed that I sought a refund, not so, I simply wanted to advise them. No performance necessary.
As a former State Member of Qld Parliament we have dined there many times but no longer.

This manager couldn't be spoken to boardering on abuse, my other 4 guests with me agreed, the manager had a chip on the shoulder to the detriment of the business.

Travelling from Gold Coast up the highway and stopped into the Big Fish Tavern for a rump and ribs. Totally impressed by the food and the beer. Unfortunately couldn't find out what Lucynda said that got her banned - but hey - it was worth the visit.

A group of us went to The Big Fish for lunch. Food was delicious, prices good. This is right next to the Bruce Highway on Pumicestone Road, so if you are travelling it's a good place to stop for a break and some lunch/dinner. We will be back.

Plenty of room in the dining area. Meal today was rump steak with chips and salad that 6 of us had. Was okay without raving about. Chips were only warm and sauce was on steak when usually on the side. Will try once more to see if it gets better. Staff were friendly..

A get together lunch with a group of 8, easy wheelchair access and staff could not of been more helpful. Meals were all of 5star quality. None of us went home hungry that is for sure. Highly recommended.

Had a few ales there with some work friends and a feed which was delicious in the dining area which had family's feasting and groups of people catching up. The bar has all the nesesities for sports bet. A large out door area both out front and the back. A gaming room and keno, also a lingerie model doing the rounds making sure the patrons had there beers.The bar staff work hard to ensure you have a great time. It's worth a stop for a coldie..

Good pub with good food and quality service. Some of the staff have been working there for years maybe even since it opened. Very convenient with the service station right next door and a regular seafood seller in the car park.

Most of the time its great, every now and then you have a less the fantastic experience but overall it is good
