Love this place! The staff are legends! We go every week for trivia & love the crowd. The wine list could use a tweak ? & maybe a few different specials but otherwise a great pub ??'? Also pooch friendly! ??

I think I've just eaten the best fish and chips in a long time. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. The salad was fresh and came with a variety of newly sprouted legumes. The tartar sauce was beautifully whipped.

Pineapple Parfait was delightful.

The Bennett hotel is the perfect mix of a family friendly atmosphere with chill relaxed vibes. The food is great quality for a reasonable price. The staff is also incredible with great service all the time.
Cannot recommend this place enough, perfect for all occasions.

Have been served the worst meal ever. Fish and chips. It was overcooked, batter dark brown and smelt of rancid overused oil. Waiter staff kindly returned dish to the kitchen but the second plate was equally as dark and smelt of old oil. The lovely waitress apologized sincerely and bought out a burger which was just reasonable. In the end I was given a refund. Very disappointed.

Great experience for Pub dinning. Booking on line easy follow up to booking professional. Busy night but food sent out in timely order. Steaks cooked to perfection and good excellent quality meat. Staff friendly and accommodating. Atmosphere had a real buzz without being over powering. On observation of different tables everyone seemed to be enjoying meals. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending The Bennett for next dinning experience. 10 out of 10.

The lunch specials are very competitive, food was good, open and bright atmosphere. Friendly service, food arrived quickly. Does not accept AMEX.

Absolutely delightful. The mains were amazing quality. We had the pork belly and it was as bloody amazing. The staff are super friendly too. Keep up the good work team!

Had a function here over the weekend... staff were amazing to deal with, so helpful. Food was fantastic, the courtyard is the perfect place for a celebration.

My husband and I had lunch today well hubby still raving about Barramundi and anchovy chips with lemon caper butter sensational. I had the rump cooked to perfection mash creamy and yummy. Do yourself a favour and book a table you will not be disappointed

Good atmosphere with a nice beer garden. Friendly staff and terrific well priced meals. Well worth a visit and they have excellent lunch specials.

Good pub, but beware of trivia nights if you are booking a social event - trivia questions broadcast across the pub - including into the beer garden where we were having a farewell get together.

I had 300g pork cutlet and it was very yummy, Monday all main meal is AUD$25. Family had Barramundi and Nachos, would like to visit again. ?

13 th August 2022 went there tonight. Staff do not know how to work keno they need training bad . Bar !!!!! We'll ordered a scotch and coke got a scotch and soda . Then tried again and ordered a scotch and coke and got bourbon and coke !!! I really think they need training in all bar work! They need training in all aspects of bar work.and need more light behind the bar to be able to read labels .our men never got the right beers they ordered every time. Will not be back ever!!!

Thursday afternoon was a great time for a quiet drink outside. Really lovely with hearing & covers. By dinner time it was hopping with a free fun raffle that patrons spun the wheel. The restaurant was busy. We didn't eat, but the food looked good.

Week I have to say I never knew this pub existed and was taken the my manager of Newcastle Brew Shop and his wife. We had a small team meeting then we tucked in to some tucker. Well once again I very impressed with the food at this great venue. I also noted that there are some excellent beers I could definitely go there for a session of beer, food, and a punt on the horses. I would call this a good day out. To all the staff at The Bennett Hotel keep up the good work and the service you should be proud of your staff.

The lunch specials are good value. Unfortunately the staff are efficiently unfriendly. Also, the air conditioning is freezing inside (like the staff) and the glare is too much outside.
There was one girl who, in particular, obviously hated being there and was so unfriendly as to make people feel like they should not be there. However, with one exception, the rest of the staff were so elite they wanted people to feel subservient.
You really have to wonder about people who invest so heavily in a place like this, but could not give a stuff about what the results are. I guess they see themselves in the same way as that girl. They must see pubs as a formula for investment, as opposed to a place where people are enjoying themselves.

I think this might be the best gnocchi I have ever had, and my husband is thoroughly enjoying his lamb. A stunning meal!
It's years since we've visited Newcastle, and we came back here for old times sake as my aunt used to live across the road. What a treat it turned out to be. Friendly staff, great new lay out, and did I mention the fabulous food?

We hosted our event in the Gazebo area at The Bennett and the experience working with the team in the lead up to, and during the event was exceptional. The flexibility of staff, quality of service and communication, and the delicious food was second to none. Will definitely be back! Thank you Ross & team.

Really nice suburban pub. They were what I thought really busy and the wait on our food was not bad. Everyone that I went with enjoyed there meals. Will definitely head back there

I like this pub, it's small and has a variety of good beers. Recent renovations are pleasant. Clientele are decent.

Had dinner here, food was good. Nice and clean with the renovations. Theyre done a nice job.

From the outside, it looks like an old pub, but when you step inside, all areas looked and smelt very clean and the dining areas looked fresh and updated (especially the courtyard). The food was delicious. I had the Salt and Pepper Squid which had a bit of spice to it from the passion fruit and chilli sauce. Generous sizes and good service.

This older style hotel has changed ownership and reopened their renovated restaurant just this week.
