Pretty nice spot for a drink. But please fix your bathrooms. It's 2023. A communal peeing area with a stench of urine is not sexy

Quite quiet on a Saturday afternoon - was very relaxing upstairs in the lounge area. Crowd started to pick up around 6pm. Good atmosphere, good location, would be nice upstairs on warm summer evenings. Worth a drink here if you're passing by.

Such a welcoming, inviting and warm space - lovely staff and the food was excellent! I had the salmon and mash which was perfect for a cold winter's night and my friends had the burger, curry, pasta and parma- they all loved their meals too! Thanks so much - I will be a new regular!

Had a terrible experience here when celebrating a friend's 30th birthday. The waiter mixed up his orders and delivered our table another table's steaks. He then blamed us for his mistake, and demanded we pay. Afterwards, he was overheard slandering our group. This is a group comprised predominantly of doctors. This place will no longer be getting any business from me or my colleagues.

Having a catch-up with friends, street level bar - good people behind the bar - stayed and had the beef burger and chips - awesome, simple but spot on - then back to Newcastle for us - just one part of a great visit.

A friendly pub, with lovely staff. The beer selection isn't the greatest. I didn't dine, but the meals being brought out to other tables looked good. A nice ambience.

We had our Xmas catch-up with friends and we were all so happy we chose the Beacham. Fantastic food ( Beef Wellington yummm) and wonderful staff. Love the renovations too. Can't wait to come back.

We had a great time dining at The Beacham during the week. The Beacham is a nice quiet pub where it is easy to have a conversation during a meal (unlike some of the other pubs we have visited). Our food was tasty and the staff were friendly.

Can't recommend this venue (The Velvet Lounge) enough for a private function. I had such smooth and easy interactions with Claude who I communicated with in order to organise my birthday.

They made it such a great experience, the stuff were fun and easy going. The food was fantastic and they allowed me to bring my own live music which was awesome!!

The place itself was the perfect atmosphere.

Nice pub with very friendly satff. Good wine selection. Had a lovely lunch here with quality ingredients. Nepalese lamb curry was a star. Beef in my Thai salad was very tender. Only gave 4 stars as salad was slightly overdressed. Definitley recommend!

My friends had a dreadful experience trying to book a birthday party for me at this hotel. Originally, my friends would not tell me the true story about what happened, but after the ridiculous response from Beacham management to my original review, my friends forwarded to me the entire email chain - and here are the FACTS:
1. My friends booked a private room to hold a birthday party for me, and all three of them gave over their credit card details.
2. When I found out, a full two months beforehand, I asked if this could be changed to a sit down dinner instead. The Beacham responded with threats about a $1500 cancellation fee.
3. I then told my friends to ignore my change and go back to the original booking. They made an appointment to meet on-site with Claude, but it was his "day off" and it "slipped his mind". Over the phone, with another staff member doing a tour, he confirmed the original room would be ours.
4. Unfortunately, sometime that week, another staff member double-booked this private room to a "South American operator". We were then told we couldn't use the rom anymore and would be given a roped-off area in a public bar instead.
5. By this stage, everybody was fed up, so we decided to move the party to the Oxford Hotel. They didn't require credit card details, they didn't charge exorbitant fees, and the entire night ran smoothly thanks to their great staff. None of us will ever deal with or step foot in the Beacham again.

Best pub in the city, the little rooftop beer garden is my favourite spot to catch up with friends. The chicken Schnitzel is perfect ? and killer chips!

Decent bar with nice decor inside. Reasonable choice on the pumps. Friendly staff. Upstairs has a pool table and a courtyard. Not far from other Oxford Street bars. Wasn't too busy when we went in at 11pm on Saturday night.

Damnnnn... the veggie lasagne is insane. Best lasagne I ever had.
You'd swap your first born for the banana pancake dessert.

I love visiting The Beacham, recently renovated with a gorgeous new fit out, makes a great place to drop in for a drink, a casual delicious dinner with restaurant quality food at pub prices - you can't go wrong.

The staff top it off completely, with their genuine welcoming service, makes you feel right at home.

I ended up booking part of the terrace for my Birthday celebration last week and despite the hideous weather the staff manoeuvred themselves with ease and professionalism.

My guests loved being in the venue and were impressed by the delicious food and perfectly made cocktails.

I would not hesitate to have another celebration at The Beacham - ticks all boxes - delicious food - amazing properly made cocktails and fantastic staff.

Fantastic Reno of a pub. Decor and outfit is amazing. Great choice of drinks and food. Staff are very friendly and always up for a chat.
Also a few floors and a rooftop beer garden. Definitely worth a visit for a night out.

The Beacham recently hosted my birthday party upstairs in their newly renovated space. It was a fabulous night and the staff were sensational - very attentive and flexible with our party planning prior to the event and supportive on the night. I got many compliments on the food and service - and the new renovation looks awesome!

Had such a great meal here with my husband last night! Delicious Thai Duck Curry and Prawn Risotto and so reasonable (under $18 each). Good wine selection too.

I only recently returned to this pub after many years. I remember when this was a gay pub and all the guys wore blue singlets, short shorts and work boots. I'm not really sure what that meant but it's changed since then and attracts a more mainstream crowd. The food is basic pub food but it's very good and it's well priced. Nice main bar with a great selection of tap beer.

Without doubt the best pub for miles... and I walk here from Surry Hills... ( and pass a lot of others!)
the Salmon Pasta is always a winner..and the specials always an interesting diversion from the value for money menu...( which is always excellent...) Staff Brilliantly charming.. cocktails always excellent as well .( as my 70 year old ladies who lunch here swear) and the outside / inside upstairs deck .. one of Sydney's best kept secret...

Fantastic night at this gorgeous city pub in the heart of Darlinghurst/Paddington art scene. Delicious food. Thai red duck curry, Beef Wellington, prawn risotto, chicken and leek pie and so reasonably priced. Why eat at home? Love the lampshades. Just a classy, comfortable European style bar where everyone is welcome.
