The Bald Rock is one of my favourite pubs in Sydney, the food is always good, staff are friendly and most importantly, the Guinness is great! It has such a nice chill vibe too.

Being the end of the year, sadly we missed out on the 'best' views. However it was a nice pub, friendly service, good food. The salad (pictured) was more leaf than anything else, but a few additions would make it great

I cannot say thank you enough to Jessica and her team. They did an amazing job at an event I hosted, and were so kind and friendly the whole time. Their attention, especially Jessica's, to detail is superb. The place is beautiful, the food is delicious and timely, and the bar is amazing. Every part was perfect (perfect enough to leave my first ever review). If you're looking to host a party, don't hesitate to do it at the Bald Rock Hotel.

Always my favourite place to go for a Sunday roast. All three trimmings in a cosy atmosphere. Family and dog friendly, this local hub has history bursting from it. Classic balmain pub.

Great atmosphere and food was pretty decent. But do not recommend the gluten free pizza - the base was super soggy like it was sat in a puddle of water, was disgusting and didn't end up eating it. However in saying that the cheese and toppings were good so we picked it off and had it with some fries which was delicious! The rest of the meals were all super tasty.

One of our regular places to eat in. Good atmosphere with friendly staff and great food. They had a grilled salmon a while back which was amazing. Hope it comes back on soon.
They have a good kid friendly menu.
Parking isn't too bad. We usually get a spot on the side street.
Also has a big screen for game days.
You can book for large groups online.

I dined there with a friend last night and the food was disappointing we had the duck which was dry and the seafood pasta which was not a pleasant tasting sauce it had too much chilli - it was inedible. We informed the waitress and she was rude and ignored us she just took the plate away. The musicians who performed were awesome and the pub atmosphere was good.

Lovely pub. ...kind of funky. Excellent staff. Great food. Everyone in our group of 10 enjoyed their meal. The curry chips are a must have. Will be back.

I met up with a few friends for a meal and a few drinks, the staff were really nice and the food was excellent.
Added bonus is you can take your dog into the beer garden ??'?

"Proper Fish and chips"
The "fish" is unidentified.. but was basically a thin, grey species with wafer thin batter. The chips were crunchy french fries and the only connection to being "proper" was a thimble of malt vinegar in a vague nod to British fish n chips
Not great... Over priced and poor quality. It looked like all ingredient were frozen and bought from Coles...I think they could try a lot harder.
The beer was good and they had sport on screen.. they get a star ?.

Bald Rock is a lovely old school pub with a nice atmosphere but besides the friendly staff and speedy delivery, the food is phenomenal. Really nice veg options. I will definitely return and highly recommend for a quiet, relaxed place to eat out.

Great vibe, lovely historical pub with nice alfresco and indoor dining spaces. Great service too.

A lovely bar / restaurant that's been here for decades and nicely done up. Good indoor and outdoor areas, good selection of drinks and beers, nice food.

Service is also super friendly here. Haven't been here in over a decade and really enjoyed our afternoon with friends. The Cumberland sausage and mash was fabulous and the gravy was on point.

Happily come here again.

A great little older style pub! Lots of character and very clean. Great menu with generous servings. Excellent staff and service. Thursday is a popular Trivia Night and 2 for 1 Margaritas. Good vibes. It was a rainy evening when we went but I imagine it would be lovely on the patio for a sunny Sunday lunch. Will definitely return.

As a (semi) alcoholic, I love this pub. The wait staff are unjudgmental. The exteriors and interiors are second-to-none in what you want in a pub. Wholesome atmosphere. Nice people. Fantastic food. Great, quiet location, with great music and fellow patrons that exert an aura of happiness. 5.5/5 rating if I could..

My only suggestion: rebuild that balcony that was destroyed those many years ago! If I had the money to spare, I would literally help fund it!

This pub offers everything a pub should. It's tucked away in a back street. It's small and cosy, with a wholesome indoor section, outdoor seating on the footpath, an open terrace and a covered terrace. They serve great beers and Guinness on tap, and a tasty Sunday roast. It's definitely the best pub in the area.

Such a great pub, starting right from the booking to leaving after a beautiful feed with great hospitality. The waitress Isabella went above and beyond in helping celebrate my wife's 50th Birthday.
Definitely will be back even thou we live 50+ Kms away.

Warm friendly atmosphere where you feel everyone is a friend. Great food and lovely helpful bar staff. Feels like home.

Old pub in Balmain with a great vibe and live music. Meals are pretty standard pub meals but the prices are reasonable and the service is prompt. Space in the main bar with the band is a little tight which might make some folks a bit nervous in these times of plague but there is an outside beer garden where things are looser. The atmosphere is cheerful and spiced by the appearance of the occasional local celebrity. Or by someone who looks like they should be one. Book in advance to get a table. Parking nearby is not easy but possible. Put this one on your list.

Had a reservation booked to have dinner and we were placed outside not aware we would be near the smoking area.
Suffering from asthma I asked to be moved. No one seemed to care. We were told they were finding us a table when we saw the same guy taking plates into the kitchen and basically hiding from us.

We always come to this pub and we've been completely disappointed and won't be returning.

Definitely one of the best pubs on the peninsula. Food is great, lighting and atmosphere are inviting and comfortable and the back courtyard is dog friendly and always bustling with people.

So lucky to call this place our local. Delicious food - don't pass up the chicken wings - and a nice selection of beer and wine. They've taken care to make a great atmosphere for lunch, dinner, or to watch sports. Extra points for the lovely staff :)

Came up from the Southern Highlands and visited this pub for dinner. Great service, great food, great atmosphere. Will be coming back soon and recommend to all.

A great down to earth pub in an area where there isn't a lot of down to earth pubs. Friendly service, laidback clientele. The pub is made of sandstone, with warm interiors and relaxing outdoor settings. Great to watch sports. I think I just found my new local.

The baldy
