Delicious, well priced meals. The chicken schnitzel with Mexican topper was divine!

Lunch. Stopped in for a schnitzel. Probably one of the best schnitzel's I've tasted. Just beautiful. Fresh and perfectly cooked. Will definitely be back.

10/10 from us. Stopped for dinner on the way home from Melbourne and the atmosphere was amazing, staff were friendly and the food was top notch.

Very helpful staff, nothing was too hard. Best meal. Had T-bone, this was THE best cooked, tenderest beef. I've had. Accommodation was clean and comfortable. All in all a great place.

Can't comment on the accommodation, but the food was beautiful, large and great value for money.

Great pub for dinner. They have a special each night. Thursday is Schnitzel night - $16 chicken schnitz with vege or salad and chips. Large meal! My son had a schnitz burger and chips and really enjoyed it. Another friend had lamb cutlets (3 per serve) and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Thursday nights the Lions Club and Young Anglers have meat raffles.
Apparently Friday nights are very busy. We were there Thursday night and although there were quite a few in for dinner in the dining room, (we sat in the lounge) the meals came out quickly.
We will definately come again?

All the pub food is great, burgers, steaks, parmi, schnitzels.
But the Curries ??? Chicken Korma Curry was more like a chicken Korma BROTH. No flavour, no cream, no coconut cream, no yoghurt. Nothing creamy at all. NO SUBSTANCE.

I believe all $$ goes towards pub/restaurant and none towards accommodation. The pub is very nice with helpful staff and the food while not the highest quality the portions were generous and was out quick. The accommodation side not so great rooms are as standard at most pubs, but the shared bathrooms are not really acceptable, the handle for the door was broken and trapped myself inside when I shut the door which I had to do as the shower had glass petitions so anyone using the toilets would be able to see everything, and the taps were broken to point I had to pick them up off floor to turn it on. As quick as I was trying to be the hot water ran out in under 5 minutes so I feel sorry for any groups that want to shower one after other as only first person would get a decent shower.

Big, high quality meals. I love the parmigiana and Mexican chicken schnitzels and the nachos. The Aussie supports live music in town and is a great place to have a beer.

Solid pub food, very welcoming for the kids. I had the Italian schnitzel which was very generously portioned. Not a gastropub by any stretch of the imagination but simple, hearty meals served quickly that get the job done. Would definitely go again when in Young.

After a long 5 hour drive and tireless cherry picking, we were looking for a nice place to dine at and my mum chose this place out of every other. It was nothing exceptional but of expected bistro standard food. Service was good enough and the staff seemed friendly, though we didnt really need help since we ordered through our phones.

I had the deluxe chicken schnitzel with chips, and the rest of us had some variety of steaks and chicken with similar sides. I would have had salad too but there was no option to add additional notes for the order, in which i'd have no dressing on it. Regardless, the food was quite alright, the chips were good, though the schnitzel was very weird. There was something about it that was kind of off putting but i ate it anyways because of how tired i was. It taste different to a usual schnitzel you would order anywhere else and it was also very bland. It was surprising to see no parmi dish here too, such a simple addition would make it all the more worthwhile. The rest of the meals were not too bad, but again, it wasnt anything exceptional. It was priced as any other bistro would be priced as well.

A decent spot, though if i ever do come past Young again, i'd rather try a different restaurant to fancy my tastebuds.

Had the 3 lamb chops and veg$19 & fish of the day with salad and chips.$18. Staggering quality and value. And a bottle of local grove estate rose for $26. Unbelievable value. Get there.

a popular pub good food selection. Does very basic and cheap accommodation, it is clean but shared bathroom etc and access is via a rear cat walk over the roof.

Food was good bar a few details. New owners might need to tweak a few things. Service was good.

The busiest spot in Young on a Wednesday night, albeit very few other options are available for dinner. Food wise, my rating is 3.5 stars. Very generous portions, fresh ingredients but a little overcooked - forgiven however, it's a pub meal after all and not expensive. Five stars for friendly and helpful service. Leaving feeling very full and overall rather satisfied.

My Wife and I both ordered the chicken schnitzel. On e of the best we have had. Freshly made and delicious. The meals are big and good value for your money. The staff are very friendly.
Come for a meal and drink, you want be disappointed.

We celebrated my daughters 13th Birthday at the Aussie with 22 family members and I can not thank them enough for the wonderful service, excellent food and very fair prices.
I would recommend the Aussie to anyone looking for good old fashion service and brilliant food.
Loved our experience and kotos to all the staff.

The publican here was extremely unfriendly and rude to me when I asked to see their bistro menu. Looking at the photos on Google Reviews, their food actually looks half decent and reasonably priced, but I can't support a place where I am treated with contempt and sworn at by the publican without provocation, simply because I was trying to make up my mind where to take my mother out to dinner that night. It doesn't take much to be a little flexible, understanding and just generally reasonable. Sorry, but based on my experience last week, this should be called the Un-Australian Hotel!

Wow what great meals. Asked for a well done steak thats what I got. So tender and juicy. Loved the side salad. Dianne sauce was more then enough. Great pub meal. Highly recommend

Main meal was lovely, food was tasty, hot, a good portion and very well priced. Unfortunately the desert was a different story. Being in Young we wanted some Cherry pie and were very disappointed with a soggy crusted pie that had obviously been microwaved. The pastry was like it was uncooked it was so sloppy. The cherries inside, all four of them, had a lovely flavour but could have done without the pips. All in all I would eat there again but only a main meal.
