Stopped in to the Australian Hotel, recently changed hands and renovated. To be honest, I had not been there before to compare, but it looks great. We sat in the outdoor dining area, huge yet unimposing tv screen (if you like that kind of thing or not). Pizza was delicious. We did not look around inside except to see they retained some of the old pub area with vintage tiles (now they would have some stories to tell). Typical pub menu but servings looked good, there is plenty of parking and a drive through bottle shop.

Such an improvement, Sam, the manager so friendly, but quite distressed to hear today is his last day! He has been an asset he has taken the pub from a dive to a reputable place for families, local tradesmen and the elderly!
I guess from The Bird in the Hand at Pitt Town will now have our patronage!

Came up from Melbourne to watch the boat races and came to the Aussie for dinner. What a fantastic place, the staff were very accommodating. Walked in and was instantly greeted by the manager (Kate) who found me a table in a very busy atmosphere. The other manager Sam was very upbeat and welcoming. Will definitely be back to see them both again, they run a great pub.

Renovated very well. Nice outdoor space, kids area with plenty of seating around to keep an eye on the kiddos. Ps you know a place knows kids when there's a plain pasta with butter option on the menu!
I order a margarita pizza, I love a wood fired pizza base, it was delicious!
Also ordered the parmigiana, the chicken was so tender.
Highly recommend this local pup, the new owner have done a great job! ??

I went with mates and was thebonly one who got the steak. It was quite average due to the fat content but everyone else I was with commented on how great there meal was. Very family friendly environment with outdoor dining, play area for kids and a big screen on the wall.

Talented young chef. The food was great and we all enjoyed it. The lady with the lovely friendly smile, who also served us our meals made us all feel very welcome. The renovations are very nice. The outside settings are also very nice with a small play area for the children. Overall a great day and I'm already planning my next visit. Maybe some time in the near future update the front facade

Nice place. Went on workday so very quiet however it's setup to have great get togethers.

Very friendly staff. Very nice lunch, nothing like a chicken snitty. Portions a little small for a pub meal however very tasty.

Little bit of road noise as it's on the corner of 2 fairly busy roads but not unbearable.

Overall nice place, would recommend.

Fantastic venue. Looks great when you walk in. Friendly staff, food came out hot, and within the time frame we were given when we ordered. Prices were well within the range I would expect for this type of venue. Not a fan of poker machines, but they were located away from the dining areas, and I did not notice them. Big screen in the beer garden was great for watching footy.

The Australian Hotel is worth more than 5 stars. Outstanding service and food.
The Great Northern was super cold and fresh and my Scotch Fillet with salad and fries (how could anyone knock the French fries, we've all been to McDonalds and those fries are just as good) was outstanding.
Good portion size and value for money if you ask me. Will be back with the family soon.

Great feel and a great beer garden how ever food is below par, chicken snitzels are average and French fries are terrible. Not the first person to think the food is below par

Limited menu due to having just opened but that's understandable. What was disappointing was portion size for the price. Everything seemed undersized/small and we left hungry. The arancini was tiny, child size and tough. The calamari also small...as was the burger. I know it's early days but I'm in no hurry to go back.

Ps. Courtyard is spacious but mostly full sun. Bring a hat, wear sun cream & wear your sunglasses! Indoor room is very limited... will see what winter brings.

The place looks great and has a nice feel. Unfortunately, the food is average. The schnitzel is pre-made and from the freezer. Chips were cold. The burger patty didn't have much flavour at all. If I'm going to be paying top dollar, put a bit of care into your product.

No bar Mats because the owner doesn't like them. Hope you like whatever is on the bar in your shoes. Menu limited, too much security, no pool tables in unlicensed areas, expensive menu, too many poker machines taking up valuable indoor space. Hope you like cold dining or lots of gas heaters come winter.

Recently reopened, the Australian Hotel offers a fantastic family venue for lunch and dinner.Great menu and friendly service will make The Australian our go to choice for a casual night out, grand kids can on the play equipment while we keep an eye on them with a cold beer or wine. Service was quick, and the food was excellent. A great asset to the entertainment and eatery in the Windsor district.

Great local pub... always a good vibe there now with the refurbishment this place has opened up a lot of outdoor seating with a big TV with sports. New bar area and indoor seating is revamped beyond recognition and looks great. [---] room is all new as is the pool room. Food is good I think the staff on opening are doing well although my pizza arrived cold - not removing stars for this as I'll be giving it another go after staff are settled in - in definitely more busy than ever before!

Great old pub with a bit of old time country flair.
Today is a sad day at the Australian, the family who have been at the pub for 130 years. To the family as you move onto your next chapter, good luck but you will be missed so much. Xx

Had my mother's day lunch here with my 3 kids. Lovely, inclusive atmosphere. Really good food for a good price. Even a little play area for the kids.

Had a great time tonight watching some live music and a few games of Keno followed by some great pub food from the bistro.
I was surprised by the quality of local talent and the support for their performances, has to be one of Sydney's best kept secrets!

Fantastic rooms, Lounge and kitchenette!! Great for kids, lots of room. Beds really comfortable. Stayed for 4 nights. Food down stairs in hotel was great and cheap. Amazing hosts!! Thanks Kim and the gang. Had a fantastic time!
