1 star because you can't give 0. Prawn curry was inedible. Powdery junk using those tasteless imported prawns you find at Woolies and Coles. Great place to sit and have a drink though.

My recent visit to 18 Footer club resturant at Double Bay left me thoroughly disappointed on multiple fronts.

First, the food was a letdown. I had high expectations, but the mixed grilled seafood dish was so small in portions for the price of $39 plus the octopus portion was missing although it was clearly listed on the menu. On top of all, I found a human hair in my dish and the manager on duty istead of apologising he came to have a very closer look and made sure I was telling the truth. It took more 13 min to replace. It felt like the kitchen had no regard for quality or presentation.

Finding a table was another ordeal. Despite the fact that we were told booking a table was only allowed for members but for guests we are welcome to come and try or wait until a table is found. On arrival the manager seemed disorganized and overwhelmed, leaving us frustrated as he quickly claimed all tables were all booked. I explained that we came from far western sydney for the first time and hoped to be accomodated as per previous phone call conversation. The manager was rude enough to tell me that he is not a magician and there was not much he can do. Finally we were offered a table next to his counter. I must say at the time, there were two tables one next to window that had no reservation signs and were not even ready.

To top it off, the manager's attitude was appalling. When we expressed our concerns about the seating, instead of addressing our issues, the manager was dismissive and condescending. It was clear that customer satisfaction was not a priority.

Overall, the combination of subpar food, a chaotic seating process, and a manager with a terrible attitude made this dining experience one to forget. I was not even offered any compensation for the dish with the hair and the loss of appetite. I won't be returning, and I can't recommend this restaurant to anyone.

It is an amazing venue with an incredible view when outside. The food was moderate speed to be made. It was a good menu and lovely environment. Great for: gatherings, sports, going to a bar and amazing food. Service was alright to the table although they could have visited us a bit more. Wish I had some photos to share of the outside area with a beautiful harbour and wharf view. Overall good but a bit pricy

I cannot think of a better venue for a gathering. It has been three years (and a whole pandemic) since all our boys left school. So, the 18 Footers was the perfect place for a long overdue parent reunion.

Despite the inclement weather, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. We had 50 people and the venue was small enough to feel intimate yet spacious enough to mingle easily.

We didn't have to take a mortgage to have a night out in Sydney with yummy canap�s that was substantive and reasonably priced drinks. Absolutely perfect. I'm still getting rave reviews from parents today.

The staff were amazing especially with my many, many requests. A big shout out to Dana, Jade and Jorge along with all of the staff that I didn't capture the name of. Amazing. Thank you everyone for a memorable evening.

We had my 50th there on Saturday. We chose the functions finger food menu with unlimited bar.

The service, food, atmosphere and location was amazing.

Fab spot in Double Bay. Great menu, staff are friendly. The clientelle is generally on the mature side, and don't be surprised if you get trivia night thrown I to the deal! I prefer to go for lunch and sit by the window and watch the boats out in the bay.

The food and view are incredible. Have been there many times with my husband, my children and grandchildren.
A few months back we went there to celebrate my birthday. My husband and I arrived before the rest of the family. I asked the waitress for 2 booster seats for my two older grandchildren as I've done on previous occasions. I was told; we don't have booster seats. I explained to the waitress that we have had the booster seats before. To which she emphatically said; I've worked here over 30 years and we've never had booster seats! She actually called me a liar. Tried not to let it spoil my birthday celebration but it did.

Has to been one of the best locations to grab a coffee from when you are out and about. Great coffee and a bit of an institution in the Eastern Suburbs. Only issue is the cars that turn around the bottom on a busy day no such issue at 6am.

Went for dinner and sat in the bar area rather than resturant area. Strange ordering system (food and drinks from separate areas). Your given a buzzer and when it alerts you have to go up and collect your food yourself, as well as any cutlery sauces etc. I think this is terrible service...the waitress still had to bring the food to the service area so what little difference does it make for them to bring it an extra 5feet to the table!? The burgers were tasty, chips were very plain and very small portion size. We won't be returning.

Attended a baby shower event here. Food was great and location was cosy while overlooking the water and Double Bay ferry wharf. Loved having the option to sit outside and enjoy the sun

The 18 footers club is above average the decor is very modern.It is right on the water and has a fabulous outlook. The food is way above any club I've been to. The service is excellent. You need to be signed in by a member .

Very convenient walk from the double bay area - Decent food and generous portions with gorgeous views! However, you do have to become a member if you are from the area. It almost feels like there's a preference towards tourists / visitors.

This place has a fantastic view overlooking the bay of Double bay.

The bar and restaurant staff is friendly and professional. The food is good and above pub quality and is reasonably priced considering the location and the views. We had mostly good experiences here and a occasional bad one, but the issue has always been resolved by the restaurant staff.

The 18 Footers yacht club is located right next to the ferry terminal in Double bay.
This is a club under the nsw club act, so you need to be a either a member, guest of a member or live out side the 5 km radius to be able to sign-in as a non member.

It can get busy here so if your not a member there is a chance you can't get in, especially nowadays with Covid capacity restrictions.

Tip! To avoid disappointments have a reservation and book a table in the restaurant for lunch or dinner.

Birthday party lunch. Took the ferry from central to double bay
Stepped off the ferry and its there on the same pier. Food was excellent fresh seafood. Drinks on the balcony overlooking double bay waters. Great day.

Rude on entry on more than one occasion. First time, we waited for several minutes to get to reception before being told it was closed for a private event. How about putting a sign up on the door so people know that Instead they let people come in and then seem to revel in speaking to them rudely and turning them away

Another time they rejected me entry for not having a paper ID....DURING A PANDEMIC!! I showed them a clear picture of my passport & DL and was told that's not acceptable ID LOL. I think you'll find it is!
Apparently digital ID is accepted worldwide now in every establishment... except the 18 footers Double Bay!! Wake up guys!

I had dinner with friends at 18 Footers Bar and Restaurant on Valentine's Day. The service staff were really nice and friendly and helpful with the menu and willing to make changes for us. The food portions were quite large and pretty tasty. You just needed to order your drinks at the bar.
