This place was a god send. It was hot and humid when we were here , my mates wanted air conditioning.
As soon as the door to the premises opened a cool sensation wrapped over us all , when we got upstairs everyone was surprised at how nice the restaurant was clean and tidy. Room to move , great atmosphere, bench seats. Tables and inbuilt eating lounges , America cafe style. Great independent music.the food is very well priced ,with $15.00 , specials everyday.nice interior design layout.
Clean bathroom. Lift access.
Has had a multi million dollar update.
Out door terrace and smoking .
Everyone was more than impressed with this amazing hidden secret.
Right across from central station.
Highly recommended.

Recently went to the Aurora Hotel for lunch. The inside was clean and cool. The tables were wide and spacious. You didn't feel hemmed in. The Service was quick, and food was great. We will return and try each item on the list and the specials on the board. You have option to eat on the deck or the cool of the dining room.

Ordered a meal with Doordash from these numpties. Waited over an hour with a good part of that with rider there waiting. They refused to make order. I sent dasher a screenshot of my order and one of my payment. And help centre called them.. Still refused. Save your money, don't waste it on special needs amateurs.

Our group has been coming to the Aurora for a monthly planned lunch for about two years. The quality of food, price and service is far in advance of the previous restaurant that we did frequent. A great place for a beer, a great feed and an excellent location on the roof.

Not a bad spot for a drink they even cater for gluten free peeps which is awesome. However, one of the staff was very rude because I asked for the wrong drink. Not a great experience. But I would not let her ruin the experience. I'm assume she was having a bad day? Or just a grump? :)

3 story pub next to central station it's never packed and the food is basic pub food, happy hour till 7pm is great

The food is really good pub grub with a great flair... there are specials on certain days at lunchtime.... good prices.
The staff are friendly. It's a good place to dress casually or if you want dress up that's cool too.... I loved it.

A good bistro with nice food and a good bar with friendly service.... However, the wait time for your food really needs improvement and this has been on at least three occasions. To the management at Aurora, if you can sort this I will be a committed regular

Service is not great but I guess when your the only place around.
You rule the Roost.
Cocktails need improvement.
Bar staff need to know drinks.
Better stay clear.

I'm a regular visitor to the Aurora Rooftop Hotel in Surry Hills, and I have to say that it's one of my favorite spots to visit with my colleagues from both work and college. One of the highlights of the hotel is the outdoor seating area on the rooftop, which provides a good view of the outdoors and near city views. The outdoor seating area is a great spot to enjoy some drinks on a warm day, and I'm always impressed with the quality of the beer. The bar has a great selection of beers on tap, and the bartenders are knowledgeable and friendly. The ambience of the rooftop bar is also worth mentioning. The music is always at a good volume, creating a lively atmosphere without being too loud and interfering with conversation.

Good place to have a drink or two before jumping onto a train at central. Location is extremely friendly. Food decent .

My wife and myself got off at Central Station this afternoon, so we decided to have lunch at The Aurora Hotel.
Lunch was very good and great value.
After lunch we stayed back for a few drinks ? and just to relax before we headed back home.
We met this awesome young lady working behind the bar and to see how she interacted with the customers was hilarious and great.
To Tamara, your bosses should be proud to have you represent their Hotel.

Spacious space that can fit a lot of people. Service was alright and can depend on how busy they are.

I had the Mexican parmigiana which is OK. Comes with salad, chips and gravy which is great as it can make you feel full. Flavour wise is just ok as the Mexican component was just the sour cream and jalapenos. At least it's crispy and fresh.

Great place for a burger and fries before heading off to the footy on the team. You can sit on the balcony and smoke. Plenty of beers to choose from as well. Always a favourite.

Went there for a casual lunch with some mates on a Saturday lunch. It was great. Plenty of room to find a quiet table to talk. Food was really good, and the drinks were cold.

We had my sons 21st birthday there in April 2022 for 60 people. We had concerns because of a second 21st with 120 people. We were concerned about the food platters arriving intact and potential mix ups at the bar. None of this happened. Arvin and Stella did a wonderful job. They arranged for the food platters to come in via the stairs and they separated the bar. Everything went like clockwork. The food was plentiful and tasty. Alcohol was cheap in comparison to some other roof top bars. Considering it was an open bar, the average cost of a drink was just under $8.00. There was also continual (but unobtrusive) security, which was reassuring. In summary, a great night at a great venue. We would not hesitate to use it again.

They have amazing Laksa, however the Laksa doesn't have many toppings and lacking rice noodles! It's a delicious creamy broth that I love,, but it doesn't keep me satisfied as it is not so filling.

The Fried chicken burger was average, I just didn't like the coleslaw! The cabbage was too bitter!

The Johnny walker green apple cocktail was delicious ?

Overall I like this hotel for a quick meal, chat or drink.

Great staff, friendly atmosphere and multiple break put areas for conversation

We held my 30th on their Rooftop area. It was a breeze to organise! We had a lovely space where it was close enough that we could experience the atmosphere but still tucked away. The food was beautiful and we heard many compliments from our guests, though it was quite pricey for the quantity. The minimum spend was reasonable and the event planner was flexible in how we reached this. All in all a wonderful night!

Went during lunch hour. On ground floor it's a pub and food hall is on first floor. Ordered Thai green curry with vegetables and steam rice. Reasonable pricing and food was good.

I had the worst nachos I have ever eaten here on Saturday. A food experience I can never unlive.

It's probably fine if you don't order the nachos, which is why I have allowed them two stars.

The staff as a whole are friendly, barring one who had consistently ruined nights for me and others. This bartender has served us drinks, then within five minutes comes over and says she overserved us and we're responsible for RSA (we're not, she is) cut us off without telling us but without kicking us out (against RSA) before telling bouncers we are trying to sneak drinks when ordering an hour or two later. This and similiar stories with the same bartender have happened to me and others I know multiple times now so I can't recommend the Aurora to anyone now.

Great place for after work drinks, nice big outdoor space up top for everyone to enjoy. Got lots of options for places to sit inside and outside and good house wines and beers on tap

It can be hard to get a read on this place. From the outside it has a leagues club vibe, but the different levels inside offer a variety of atmospheres. At least it's big enough to be an uncrowded local spot for an easy beer and a chat. Just don't expect Surry chic or a crafty drinks selection, and you'll be welcomed with open arms.
