Tonight's relaunch was an abject failure.
Prices up, service down, and wait times up. They forget to add the chicken in a chicken salad.... Over an hour wait for food.
I will note that the chicken schnitzel (with Mexican beef topper) and its salad was quite nice, but the chips tasted dry, bland, and like they had been sitting there for quite a awhile (they could do with some type of seasoning, salt didn't help).
Lots of improvement needed, simply unacceptable.

All foreign-owned beers both on tap and in the bottle. The place is like a big, old 1980s school hall. Needs modernising. Badly. They have 16 tap beers all owned by Japanese corporations and none that represent Australia which at present is producing some of the finest beers in the world but these small producers regularly go out of business because certain clubs are bought by the Japanese Yen. There are 2 new small breweries in Penrith that need your support. Rusty Penny and I can't remember the other one.

I was here as work had organised an education day, so I thought I'd eat from their lunch menu. I ordered a chicken schnitzel (not very Irish, I know). It was only $15 and a massive serving- can't imagine what their dinner serving size is. The food was delicious and for $15 I have nothing to complain about. They also had tomato and BBQ sauce available for free. My table mates had the Irish stew and like me they demolished their meals. I wish I had taken a picture of the food. Highly recommend this venue.

Was unimpressed with the clubs & their handling of our party. Beer Taps didn't work so the bar tab went very quickly with guests having to get bottles instead . The tab of 555.00 Apparently was suddenly short $50. Altogether disappointing

This club has been a staple for my family for decades when hosting events such as birthdays and wakes.

Don't expect a world class establishment. This is a brick and mortar, down to earth good old Irish pub that serves it's community well. The staff are friendly and the taps are always flowing. What more can you ask for?

Fantastic local feel and large enough for any type of night. The staff are super friendly and always up for a laugh. Do yourself a favour and get the curry parmigiana at the bistro it will change your life!!! Its a big serving though so you will be grateful for the spacious courtesy bus that runs well into the night.

The pasta I had last night was revolting and made me really sick. As someone who has just recently had colon cancer surgery I need to be careful of what I eat. Absolutely disgusting

Just found my favourite Irish club. Have fallen in love with Guinness ? after a good 1/2 dozen schooners. The club was well decorated and the staff were welcoming and friendly. Great price for drinks and the menu at the Shamrock restaurant was fantastic with great Irish food at a great price. This is a must visit when in Penrith.

We have been there many times. Really good fresh food.so much for the family to choose from. The Staff are friendly and helpful and such a good atmosphere

Four of my family enjoyed various meals and we all loved them. We will definitely make it a regular visit. So thank you.

A really good family based club. Very good atmosphere. All the staff are wonderful with good senses of humour. I wont go anywhere else

Hi , had a wake on the 11th July, 2022 @ Gaels club. Everything was just perfect, the staff so friendly and helpful, the food was wonderful. The club made a sad day a rememberable one. Truely is the emerald of the west. The best prices for food and drinks. On top of that the food is always generously portioned and extremely tasty. Love the Gael's

I haven't been there in such a long time but always remembered the food being really good but this time I was disappointed especially as the person serving the food was picking up the sweet potato chips out of the bowl with her hands and not wearing gloves. I was horrified

Went there recently, usually have the beef burger but decided on supreme pizza. The most awful item on the menu, it was a oily soggy spaghetti sauce pizza. Where was the pepperoni, cabanossi, pineapple. Etc.

One of my favourite spots to relax with some friends. The schnitzel with curry sauce and bacon is a must, too.

Went there for lunch today with my wife and daughter.They ordered a $10 lunch schnitzel each, I ordered a $30 grain fed steak. Very disappointed in my steak. If it was a $15 lunch menu steak it could pass but was disappointed what I was given.

Absolutely love the Gaels club - wonderful venue, staff and amazing bistro! One of the only authentically Irish clubs left in Sydney. I highly recommend a visit to this gem.

Went here for the first time tonight. Friends recommend we have dinner there and I am glad we did.We had the schnitzel and southern fried chicken wings and then sticky date. The food was amazing. Not your typical boring pub feed where you get a generic mass produced schnitzel and fries on a plate. This chicken was thick, super moist and had really really delicious crunchy coating. The gravy was drinkable and the salad dressing I'm going to need to go back and ask for more details so I can try and replicate at home. The wings and dipping sauce amazing. Sticky date to die for. I especially loved the generosity of the sauce and praline on the side.All in all we need to come again so we make it in time for the raffles and so we can try more meals at this surprise of a location. Live music, pokies, raffles and AMAZING food with decent prices.5 stars! Will be back.
