Visiting the area for the long weekend. I'm over overpriced salads, as this is all people think coeliacs can eat, but still charge the earth.
We figured a meal at the local club would be just the ticket... and they didn't disappoint.
As we walk towards the entrance we noticed the staff facing the west and realised, they were observing silence for the ode. (LEST WE FORGET)
Upon entry, we were greeted by three staff members who were incredibly friendly and open to having some friendly banter. They really set the tone for a lovely evening.
We made our way to the bistro, had a look at the menu and placed our order. The lady who took our order was super friendly, and she knew what was gluten free and didn't have to dash off to ask the kitchen staff. She was efficient, Knowledgeable and just really pleasant.
I ordered the 300g steak (m) with chips and salad, no sauce and an alternative to the salad dressing to make it gluten free.
My husband ordered the pork belly w salad and chips.
I didn't go to the bar, but, my husband did and when he came to our table, he said he had a great chat with the barman who was as passionate about beers as he was.
I asked for my steak to be medium, and it came out medium. It was perfect. The salad was salad, but it was good with steak and chips.
After we finished our meal, we went downstairs to have a drink (I had a pot of tea). The staff there were just as wonderful.
I could tell the work culture at this establishment looked to be quite healthy. The staff looked like they wanted to be there and that they enjoyed their work.
For those who say the place was packed and they had to wait... yes, that's what happens when you're attending places at their peak times. The whole world is understaffed. Be kind to those who've shown up. For those who say their food wasn't exactly as they ordered it... you're at a bistro with 200 other people, it's not a 5star restaurant that has 50 guests.
For those who say the staff weren't very friendly, I'm gonna say, it's You, not them.

Good sized meals, 8 prawns in the prawn & pasta, Hawaiian schnitzel good. Staff seemed very friendly but did you really need to put the chairs up on the tables around guests while still eating at 8.00pm??

Club presented well. Staff polite. Entertainment very good both Friday and sat night. Meal sat night was excellent. Pity the club is not patronised well, once meals are completed.

Well ,day 20 of our holidays and we found it.
Our worst dinning experience yet. Seriously
Chicken Breast Supreme. Theres was nothing Supreme about this dish. I even doubt it was Breast. The Main ingredient was dry as the simpson desert and the mash had been sitting around since saturday. The veg was no better. Then there was the $25 smokey bbq chicken pizza. Well i never ,this excuse for a pizza was terrible. The chicken was Obviously the last weeks lot of Chicken Supreme deconstructed and put on the thinnest base known to man. Smokey What.
I understand A-Club is not a Michelin Star dinning experience but this was pretty ordinary

Great food and service
Food was delicious and there was a lot on the plate, we struggled to eat our meals.
Service amazing, I was having conversations with the staff and they remembered my order right away even with me not being a member.

Have had lobster mornay upstairs the size of meals was large. The taste was good but the lobster needed to be cooked a bit more.

Have had meals upstairs, & downstairs in the bistro. Size of meals are large. Loved the fish & chips. Can have with salad & chips or mashed potato & veggies. Upstairs is night time only, & certainly have a good choice. Hubby had a rump steak, which was very enjoyable. Really worth a visit.

The only thing, I suggest is get a meal to share up in the brasserie because these meals are enormous, extremely delicious though.

Lovely staff upon entry happy to help out to sign non members in.
Its worth becoming a member for the $12- if I remember correctly.
The savings are instant, 10% - 15% across the services - drinks and food.
I ordered the Samual surf snitty, absolutely delicious, fast service in a busy environment.
I have since returned and eaten here again and both times I have been impressed.

Want a mouthful of grease with inch thick slices of bread to hide the dodgy steak in your sandwich? This place has you sorted. Had to cut the slices of bread in half to make it just look normal, see pic of bread removed. There was no beetroot. Maybe that's why they make you wait over an hour for your order so you'll probs just eat it anyway

The Bay Brasserie Bistro had a fantastic selection to choose from. The price was reasonable and the portions were very large! We had a variety of pasta, pizza, steak, chicken, fish and burgers. The dining area is clean and spacious and the staff are friendly and polite. We will definitely visit again when we come to Nelson Bay ??'?

Nice cossy place and the food was actually surprisingly good.
It was quite pricey but the serving was big.
It isn't a fancy restaurant but the place looks like it was recently renovated which made the restaurant a vibrant place to eat.
Customer service was also pleasing.

The bistro has a reasonable range of menu items, plenty of seafood, a number of special meals for $15 ($17 non members) including battered fish, rissoles & mash, pasta dish, s&p calamari.
Meals were quite good, place was clean and tidy. Service was efficient, reasonable for meal delivery. Mash potato was perfect!
Very spacious dining room. One recommendation would be to add a Roast of the Day to the board.
Definitely will return for another meal soon.

Club was good.. nice fresh new layout and atmosphere..
Food was a 5/10 steak came out very overcooked when order medium, and the prawn entree I ordered was not worth what we got..

We loved coming to Wests, especially with the kids. The food and drink menu is expansive, there is something for everyone here. Staff are very friendly and helpful, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to others.

A very disappointing experience to say the least in service and quality of food. 2 of us ordered the Olivia dish for dinner. Bacon and sauce undercooked and literally raw and cold.
Female waitress didn't offer to replace the dish or offer any form of an apology however advised she would pass the feedback onto the chef.
I'm not one to complain however this establishment needs to review their staffs customer service recovery skills and also the quality of dishes that leave the kitchen.

Great club just down the road from where we stayed. Beer was cold, staff were friendly and the meal (Chicken Parmy) was great. Meal size was very big and even got a good salad with it. The place was quite busy, but we still got our meal very quickly.

Great food when we got it eventually. Lovely outlook at marina. We waited a long time for our order that our paid parking had expired. Paid for parking an hour and a half.

The best club meal on the central coast. Excellent staff great range of food at amazing prices.Hint join the club and receive members discounts immediately ,we save twice the cost of membership with our first meal.

My son has multiple food allergies and when I mentioned at ordering our food, the lady that served us got the chef to come and speak to us. He was super friendly and helpful about it, told us how he was going to cook the food separately. One of the best service we have experienced. My son loved his stake and chips with veggies! Thank you!

Food great, good prices, though the female bar attended wasn't helpful, was rude and advised no wine coolers. So best advice don't purchase a bottle of white wine from the downstairs bar on a quiet Monday afternoon.
