As a long-time supporter and local resident, it pains me to share a recent disappointing experience at West Ashfield. While our family has been patrons since the establishment of the NRL club, the treatment during our last visit was disheartening. The customer service representatives, seemingly indifferent, mentioned breaks when asking us to move, even though there was still ample time. Such actions tarnished the connection we've had with this establishment. As loyal locals, we hope for a more considerate approach in the future to maintain the community spirit that has been cherished for years.

How do you not have a Sunday Roast on Sundays? Very disappointing. Guess you cant charge $40 for a roast.

Ordered the pork belly. If your going to chage premium prices at a club you should make sure the food is worth it. Not cold or dry. Also if you are advertising "roasted potatoes" please roast them, not par boil and par fry. Terrible. Would not reccomend anymore. Used to be a great place to eat.

West Ashfield Leagues Club is Located at 155 Liverpool road Ashfield. Walking distance from the train station and Buses do stop close by. Open from 9 am daily to 6am every day. Car parking is available and free to use. Must sign in upon entry.
Staff were not accommodating and helpful. Customer Service was not the best for such a venue.
West Ashfield Leagues Club consists of a Smoking and Non smoking gaming area. Consisting of Poker and Electronic Roulette/Poker Gaming Machines. The Club has a Bar and Restaurant/ Bistro along with a separate Function and Entertainment Space. There are a variety of different activities and Shows offered throughout the year.
Membership is cheap and affordable.
Identification is needed by all to enter these premises.
The restaurant was Clean and Can Cater for Alot of people. Food was Good and Fresh but not Great. The menu has Steaks, Seafood, Snitzel meals. Portion Sizes were good and are affordable. Reservations are not needed but have busy times and do get a crowd on Public Holidays or when an event or Function is happening.
The main Gaming Area is on the main floor upon entering the club. Restaurants and Function Areas are located upstairs on the First Floor above this spot.
There is a Small Separate Gaming area above the Restaurant/ Functions Floor but is not as Big in area as the main floor. Consisting of Gaming Poker Machines but only a small number compared to the number of Gaming Machines which are located on the main floor of the Club.

Huge modern club with a number restaurants and bars throughout and plenty of gaming areas. BUT, must be the only gaming area I've seen in Sydney that does not provide bottled water or soft drinks free of charge. Also poor at cleaning gaming area machines in particular.

Half the menu was sold out. Steak was nice. Ribs were a bit dry. Not much sauce and no salad dressing on the side salad. Staff were lovely. Good atmosphere.

Went To Wests Ashfield for a late dinner last night.
I ordered the Signature Pork Belly. When it arrived It looked extremely dry, and the smell just didn't seem right.
I cut into it and the taste wasn't pleasant. I only ate a portion of the my meal. When the waitress collected my plate I made mention to her that the meal wasn't pleasant, she asked if I would like to see the manager. I said yes.
Some time passed and my wife and I decided to leave,
I walked up to the waitress and asked what happened to the manager, she said he went to the bank! I replied what Bank is open at 9.00pm at night! The waitress said she mentioned my concern to the Chef and he's reply to her was they use to serve the pork belly with a sauce but now do not. I wasn't happy and waking out the door I and again mentioned my unpleasant meal to the doorman, with a blank look on his face and he just simply apologised.
Later that night I was unwell and new it was due to my meal.
If the manager on duty wasn't available the chef should have come and seen me regarding my concern.
I feel that was ignored by the waitress, the manager, chef and doorman.
This is no way to treat your patrons who are visiting your club.

We ate at the Wok On restaurant at Wests Ashfield. Have been here about 3 times in the past year. The food is always tasty and seems like good value. The staff are friendly and efficient except there are not enough of them. Every visit we have trouble finding a table that is free of used dishes. There is not enough table-clearing which makes it look and feel pretty sub-standard.

Love this place except the 2 tiny lifts they have. When they are a lot of people it's almost impossible to get the lifts as it's only big enough to fit 3 people at a time. The food however is really nice here. Decor and everything very clean and pleasing.

A very nice modern open and light filled space offering well above average bistro/club food at reasonable prices. The tap beer offering is limited but does feature some decent craft options. Service is friendly and tables well spaced.

When the garden first opened ,it was unbelievable.And then it went downhill when they swapped hands with in the year.

Dazzling lights , vegetation growing on the ceiling.
Don't be fooled with the decor.
Reality is overpriced food.
Dry pork belly.
Dry steak.
If you want surf and turf just add $15 for 2 small prawns.

Grow up management and stop acting like the crown casino.

We love The Garden Restorant. Today is Ribs Monday but a bit too much peppery for our liking but still... The atmosphere is cozy and beautiful.

The level of quality has fallen so far from the top in the more recent years - my family and I have been regular customers for well over 15 years, the biggest problem is it's frequent change in management and the food is outright mediocre and overpriced!

To add to this tonight's poor experience a order was made for four Chicken Schnitzel plus the added "make your schnitzel a parmigiana" for an extra five dollars.

Apparently now you would have to "buy the gravy on the side because you made your chicken schnitzel a parmigiana" which does not make sense. Parma is an additional to the original order not 'add the parma and we take your gravy away?' - That's like ordering a double patty burger but we take away your sauce because you've added an extra patty - logically FLAWED.

If the staff and team on hand could kindly explain how does this even make any sense and best explain why my family should ever come back.

What was a weekly family dinner location slowly became a monthly visit now I'm not sure how many times we keep coming hoping for redemption - utterly disappointed.

Terrific club, had dinner at the beautiful Garden resteraunt, the food was just delicious, great atmosphere and great service. Had a very nice night out. Definitely recommend.

Beautiful surroundings, friendly and helpful staff, enjoyed the members discount on food and beverages. Absolutely delicious dinner of soft crab tacos starter and meatlover pizza main, top notch! Already looking forward to returning.

Attended 60th birthday party of a friend in 'The Garden' restaurant of this club.
Loved the placement of tables, they are at a good distance and you dont feel cramped up as in other restaurants. Decor is fine, goes with the theme of garden and you do get the feel of sitting in a garden (but with artifical plants?).
Menu has variety to choose from and its tasty. All of my friends orderded different items from the list and no one was unhappy about their choice!
I had 'Moussuka' from the oven and it was yummy......
staff are friendly, service is good. There is also an option of using the QR code to order your meal and pay for it.....works well if you are going in a big group and have to split the bill.
Will go again and try the other items on the list!

The Gardens Restaurant has fallen a lot since it first opened years ago. You now have to order at the counter and get a number. Service was slow on a Tuesday night. Staff at reception, sign in and in the restaurant were all wearing masks under their noses. The $19 'Fish n Sips' special was good value. Large portion and included a glass of wine. Chips a little cold. Disappointing that the tartare sauce was premade in a tiny takeaway sauce container like you'd get at a fish and chip shop. Should be freshly made or at least served in crockery.

Went for a birthday lunch in May at the Garden. Window seating, great view of inner west and city. Food was fine and beers cold. Staff friendly and attentive. Free parking. Will go back.

Lots of parking for members. Lovely decoration and atmosphere. Large venue, clean and very new looking interior. Has a Chinese restaurant on site and a bistro on the other side. They also do private event rooms.

Walking into the club we were greeted by a pair of lovely staff. We made our way up to the garden restaurant. Once we were ready to place our order we approached the counter to a very rude, unhappy man who took our order. By now his actions changed my mood to being annoyed as I just wanted to eat and get out of there! The food was good and wait staff were nice. If think that was my last time to the garden, luckily we used our vouchers and I didn't pay using my own money.

Unfortunately I have to give them 2 stars because we wait for our food about 1 hour and When we got it the quality of the meat was not good at all ,I did ask for medium well but I got well done. I was so hungry and did not want to send the food back.But the positive sides:friendly staffVery Nice and beautiful placeSuggestions:(To me it is Not the place for young people or young couples not much fun to do. More good for family and business guests)Not going back.

A few years ago they re did the eating areas and the food went yuppie and expensive prices to match for a club. Not the good club it use be. Hopefully the current c-19 situation and the economic circumstances it has brought us ALL will have them wake up on both counts. Wins are rare on machines compared to before as well. Maybe the senior management can take a pay cut so they can afford to make the offerings affordable for most and not a few.

The Garden: Food as usual was great. Which is why this isn't a 1 star review. The service today was appalling:
1. They couldn't seat us in the dining area as there were no free tables. It was fully booked. The dining area was empty and the table next to us had a sign saying it was booked at 1pm. We arrived at 11:45am
2. When we placed our order we were told the kitchen was not able to bring out our entree as an entree. It would come when everything was ready. Again, the dining area was mostly empty. Disappointing that a professional kitchen can't achieve a bare minimum of service.
3. Asked a waitress for a jug of water. Told we had to go ask at the bar. She then went off to polish cutlery. Again, dining hall was mostly empty.
4. Asked for a jug of water at the bar. Told there were no jugs left. Given individual glasses. 2 min later see staff member bring 3 jugs to other staff, they all then proceed to drink out of these jugs using straws.
5. Went to order coffee, waited in long bar line, once I got to the front I was told to go to a different part of the bar and wait there again. We left and had desert elsewhere.

Don't go if you value your time. Food was good but you can get good food and good service elsewhere.

Oh and after perusing the menu, I asked if I should put them somewhere separate to be sanitized and was told not to worry about it.

Dinner here. No table service very sad , hope they bring waiting staff back didn't enjoy ordering at front. Meal was ok.

Wests Ashfield is a good club,a few staffs is very nice to the members but one staff call Maxhe is very rude to the members He never listen to what the members said. Even the memberscomplain something and ask the club to improve something.I am a member over30 years. I consider will not go there any more.

Delicious Yum Cha at Golden Times seafood Restaurant. Great place to have Yum Cha.

Parking available under ground and club members get 5% discount. They also have Yum Cha daily. Plenty of carts roam the restaurant with a nice assortment of dishes ranging from dumplings and chicken feet to congee and egg tarts.

We ordered the Prawn Dumplings, sticky rice, steamed prawn rice noodles, vegetable dumplings, Vegetables wrapped in bean curd, spicy chicken feet, black sesame fried balls, deep fried dumpling with pork mince.

Washed it all down with a nice pot of Chinese tea.

Best to go with at least four friends so you can sample more dishes (dumplings usually come with four pieces and you can ask the trolley ladies to cut up the rice noodles into 4 pieces)

Note this place cane get very busy on the weekends, but the wait is worth it!
