Good food but who puts onion on a bloody pepperoni pizza. First we had 4amici putting capsicum on a pepperoni pizza and now these guys across the road putting red onion. Italians would pass out if they ever ordered a pepperoni pizza in kempsey

It doesn't leave a good impression when you make a deal about charging us for sauce but not the family after?

We come here at least once a week and spend close to $200 each time.

I might suggest you tell chef in white shirt to change their attitude towards regular customers.

Amazing food and affordable drinks. The venue was nice and cool during the day considering how hot it was outside.

located on one of the arterials in town, one shouldn't miss such a gem. This venue is now having 2 ATMs that allow patrons to deposit/withdraw cash straight outta their TAB accounts, free of charge!
Staff is friendly and courteous. Venue is nice and clean with spacious dining area, bar, gaming lounge, and good accomodations.

We had our 50th reunion for our class here. The venue is clean and well kept, staff are friendly and helpful, prices compatible with same style of venue in town. The event was a great success even though a tad chilly

Great spot for lunch, or a catch-up over a drink or two (or 3 , or 4 etc.). Usual beers on tap, cocktails and mixed drinks available.
The food available from the restaurant is exceptional. I have been many times, and have never been disappointed by the meals available. The menu changes specials routinely. The Chef and his small team do a fantastic job of delivering high quality fresh cooked meals in a timely fashion.
The 2022 refurbishment of the Hotel Main Bar, Bistro, and outdoor entertainment area are top notch and have improved the overall feel, look and general aesthetic of "the Top Pub", as it is more commonly known to locals of the Macleay Valley.

Without doubt one of the best pizzas I've ever had.

Excellent Christmas lunch for our ladies golf club! The staff went out of their way to ensure we all received our meals at the same time! Awesome!

Dinner with ex partner and my son and after a very long drive attending mutual freinds funeral afar we feed was A1 and staff so freindly and helpful. Was a pleasure after seeing a filthy Thai restaurant 5mins down the Rd with grubby rude man serving. Glad we walked away from the Thai and come here. Great for an Aussie feed

Looks amazing after renovations, friendly staff, fairly busy at lunch but meals came out fast and delicious. Only bad point was that it was 30 outside and felt like 40 inside.

The hotel has just been refurbished in the dining room & outside dining area. Very comfortable and clean. New bar area for diners, besides the front bar still for regulars and serving front verandah.
The menu has a lot more choices and hard to pick what to have as so many tasty sounding choices.
Chose the crispy skinned grilled Barramundi with garlic mash, asparagus & spinach. Lovely presented and the most succulent fish I've had in a long time.
My friend had the Moroccan spiced 4x lamb rack with chats, veg & red wine jus. Again presented beautifully and tasted absolutely delicious.
I'll be going back to try their Mexican choices in tacos and fajitas and more. Besides the other delicious sounding meals.
Their bottleshop has been refurbished and extended too.
On top of all that, the staff and service was wonderful and done with helpful assistance and a smile.
You can't go wrong with the new changes of Kempsey's "Top" pub, the West Kempsey Hotel.

My partner and I were visiting from Sydney to my sister who lives in the country 45 mins west of Kempsey. We were looking for a place to have a meal out on Saturday nite. We decided to go to this establishment and I called and booked a table for 7pm. On arrival we could see there were 2 large groups (one was massive and took the whole outside area) celebrating in the restaurant, on placing our orders we were told there would be a 1 & 1/2 hour wait for food. We walked out and had to find somewhere else at 7:30pm in kempsey (not easy).
Whilst I'm not cranky at the restaurant being busy, they would have known when I booked the table that the 2 large parties being held there would cause a wait. They could have said something or not taken our booking.
Our Saturday night out was ruined. We were looking forward to eating there as the menu looked great

Wow - our dinner was sooo good hubby & son had the Chicken Parmy Royal it was delicious, I had the Chicken Milky Maid it was amazing, my other son has the Southern Fried chicken burger it was awesome - great prices for meals and the staff are very friendly ?

Food a bit ordinary salad consist of shredded cabbage and one tomato wedge. Steak over done, surf and turf full of lumps and bland. Give it a miss

Love this place. Really friendly staff and the Southern Fried Chicken burger is one of the best burgers I've ever had. And this is coming from someone who orders nothing but burgers everywhere I go. Kudos to the staff, and especially the chef.

The food was average. They don't do a very good salad unless you like lettuce covered in ranch dressing with one slice of tomato. The service was poor. When we asked questions about the menu we were given attitude as if to say, how dare you question it? And the air conditioner wasn't working inside and it was very hot. No one knew how long it had been broken. They didn't like being told that they need to get it fixed. How dare we state the obvious! Save your money and go elsewhere.

Pleasant to visit, comfortable outside area to have a bite to eat.. very good priced menu. Food is good pub quality, nothing to rave over but decent eats.

Food was delicious. The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. Highly recommended.
