The accommodation side was beautiful. However, the restaurant was, for me, very disappointing. As a coeliac, I need for medical reasons to eat strictly gluten-free foods. We chose to eat at the restaurant as the menu showed gluten-free available meals. On asking if foods such as chips were cooked separately to avoid cross contamination, the answer was no ( hence not gluten-free ) . No alternatives were offered. The salad and veg bar are not an option due to the gluten and shared serving spoons. I asked if i could have some steamed veg or a baked potato, but they couldn't do this. so I had a basic chicken breast with some kind of filling for my dinner, portion obviously small as the menus version came with chips advertising the meal as gluten free. Very poor understanding of dietary needs and how to substitute basic foods to make a meal advertised as gluten-free actually safe for people needing to eat gluten-free. We will stay again as the accommodation side is fantastic, we will find other dinner options.
