We went here for a trivia night, and it was great. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and the staff done a fantastic job running the trivia. It's great that by the end of the night, we had raised money to donate to a charity.
Apart from that, the food was good, drinks were priced great, and everyone was friendly.

Should close on time states not earlier loose a lot of business by doing this

A great place to meet friends and enjoy a beer or coffee while playing machines or catching up with mates has sports bar pool table ect

I'm taking 3 stars off due to 3 things:
their help yourself coffee machine is the worse coffee I have ever tried. Each time I've been there, I try their self serve coffee again thinking maybe it will be better but nope, still disgustingly bitter, leaves terrible after taste & nausea in my stomach, it's undrinkable, especially the latte, and cuppacino not great either. Partner and a person I spoke with have said the same. Other self serve coffee machines at other venues much better compared to theirs.
Next star taken off because I hardly win there, maybe a little something every 10th visit but an overall huge loss most times. This is the place to go to if you want to donate to them. Surely they can upgrade to a better coffee machine or get the flavours right when I've given them thousands!
Another star taken off because there is a male worker there who I felt was very picky towards patrons and seemed unhappy. I saw some guy have a huge win there but worker looked grouchy, did not congratulate him and did not look happy. Greedy place! Looks like they only want your money and are happy when they get to keep it all!
On a positive note, food is good there, enjoy fish with sweet potato chips & salad quite nice, but due to my losses, the bad tasting coffee & mean worker there I'm not sure I will visit Valern much again!

Sorry to rave on about it but I feel I'm spending buckets of money on their poker machines and lose almost every time. Last night I lost $150 and more losses recently. Surely they can upgrade to a better coffee machine or get the flavours right!
On a positive note, food is good there, enjoy fish with sweet potatoe chips & salad. There is a sign there that says potato chips will be replaced by battered onion rings (was told by worker it is due to potato shortages). Um, there are loads of potatoes back in supermarkets. Other venues serving chips, something not quite right again with what they are saying, however the sweet potatoe ones they do have (more expensive) but do taste nice.
Also thumbs up for the nice staff there, I think it is new staff last 2 - 3 years (some of the staff were unfriendly years back)
Now, all they need to do is look into improving their self serve coffee machine and I'll be back more often. I see they can make you a better coffee behind the bar but will cost you - I hope it's not on purpose for the bad tasting self serve coffee so their patrons can spend more money for a better tasting coffee : (

What can I say ???" if your looking for a great time in great company then this establishment is the place to be. Bring a positive attitude and enjoy see you on the dance floor 😁

Great place to drop in for a quick gamble & drink , friendly staff , bit bogan and a lot of colour & white ppl there , hanging around the machine your playing , talk their lingo at the top of their voices, trying to bum smoked and drinks 🤬🤬🤬??'?😎

Lovely open fire and welcoming ladies!! Hot choc and fluffy scones did the trick!! Worth the visit.

Great venue, great social club good place to catch up and give the regulars a hard time! XD

It was pretty relaxed and layed back, good music, and had a nice little win on the pokies

I would like to say how discussed, I was with 1 of your staff members on Friday evening. I was there with my brother playing the pokies and Keno. I asked him to get me a coke when i heard the women tell him that it was his third drink and he would have to pay for his next one, may i say very rudely and she really made him embarrassed as she said it very loudly he has a really bad speach problem and cant speak for himself. I went up to the counter and told her the drink was for me not him she didnt even offer any apologies both my brothers were members of your dart and cricket teams over the years and have spent a lot of money at your venue I for one will not be back rant over xx.
