We called in to have a couple of beverages as the Valern because it always has a great atmosphere. But this was ruined by one staff member. He was rude to us when we ordered out first drinks, didnt even say hi or thankyou. He seemed to be to busy on his laptop to talk to anyone. Although he did brag about doing his course online at work, another customer said he should be doing it at home, the young guy replied 'why do it at home when I can get paid to do it here'. You could tell that other customers weren't impressed with his rude, no care attitude and I overheard them talking about the bad service. We ended up leaving because he made us feel really unwelcome. My husband and I have both worked in hospitality, back in the day when you talked to your customers because that was your job, to make people feel welcome and want to stay and spend money, this guy wouldn't have lasted 5 minutes in our hotel. Very disappointing.
