Had the best chicken snitty I've had in a long time! My partners beef snitty with gravy was great aswell!! Tasted amazing. Very small quiet pub and the Old bloke that owns the joint was very welcoming. Will definitely be making the trip back for another meal!! Cheers

We needed somewhere to camp in bad weather on 20 Aug 2024, and this was available. The pub is defunct. Trucks roared through all night (didn't seem to slow down), so not a great nights sleep, but at least we were off the road.

Max the owner is an absolute boss, 85 still running the place. It's a bit outdated but lots of history there so it's interesting. Max is very nice and we had a good time. Interesting/ good experience. We stayed overnight for free but paid $15 to get hooked up to the electricity. Pizza for $15 not expensive, beer wasn't expensive either but don't know exactly what it cost I had a couple. #support local

What a lovely small quaint old style pub. Max the owner was very good with his bar service skills. Meals were good size and very reasonably priced. We also stayed overnight at the side of pub for free. This is another great service the pub provides. Make sure if you stay to support Max with having dinner with a nice beer or two.

Dropped in on our way to Renmark. Never visited before however was a recommended stop. Was advised to just go in regardless of 1st impressions. Was excellent advice! Lovely little old pub. Owner Max worked the bar. Was a lovely and sociable old school publican. Was an English couple there when we walked in eating dinner. Called out to us saying lamb shanks were literally the best they ever had. So O ordered them. Wasn't disappointed- fantastic! Husband ordered chicken Parma. This was also very good. Lamb shanks were $20 - bargain!! Chicken Parma $25. Husband happy with $5 stubbies of beer too. Some lovely old photos and memorabilia on walls. Was one of the only buildings in the little town in what looks like 1800's. will return.

Max brilliantly multitasked between the bar and the drive thru, and made a great honey cappuccino. We ordered lamb shanks for dinner ... OMG ... yum yum. The locals were friendly. The pool table gave us some laughs. Topped the night off by winning a meat tray. Small pub, big hearts. Great value.

Fantastic evening meal. Dropped in on the way back from the Riverland.great atmosphere. Didn't think it was open but well worth the stop.
Great chicken parmigiana & bangers and mash. Honey 🥕 carrots topped it off.
Would go back again next trip

There was a very limited menu, the food was horrid and fatty. The service was rude. It used to be much better but now there are about about 5 things on the menu and expensive for what you get. Very disappointed. Bad decor hasn't been changed for years.

The charm of a small town pub is so lovely. The locals that come and unwind to have a yarn and unwind after a hard day's work. A great way to relax by having a beer or any type of drink, followed by a traditional pub style schnitty that's absolutely delicious!

Next time you're coming through Truro, stop in say g'day and have a meal or have it takeaway.

Our group of 14 walked in just at the end of lunch service and Max, the 82 year old publican, happily organised us some beers and lunch.
The pie-floater is amazing. Home made pizzas delicious... and the beer cold.
Thanks so much for your hospitality Max !

Pub was extremely run down. Food was ok but nothing special. Would have said 3.5 stars but purchased soft drink and beer. Soft drink was 5.5 years out of date and beer was 2.5 years out of date.
