Travelodge outsource silk hospitality who treat their staff very poorly, especially the house keeping manager. Constantly cuts shifts day before expected to work and doesn't provide enough working hours for staff, this new manager is horrible and needs to go or many staff will leave. Do not support this business until they look after their staff better

The staff were very helpful in all aspects. The breakfast was included, good variety, but the hot food was luke warm at best but tasty enough. Hotel isn't too far from Southern Cross Station. Housekeeping was a little slack, but when requested they came quick enough.

My first time staying at this hotel, and I was very pleased indeed.

Super-conveniently located across the road from Southern Cross Station, I was able to leave my car at home and do all my Melbourne jaunting about on public transport.

Greeted by pleasant and professional staff, I was quickly on my way to my room. As I was only staying one night, I had selected a small room, but it was clean and comfortable, and QUIET! I could see the trains across the road, but I could not hear them!

The hand basin in my en-suite was a little slow in emptying, but on my way out to dinner I mentioned it, and it was fixed by the time I came back. Excellent service!

For price, location and amenities, this will be my first-choice Melbourne hotel from now on. I was very very pleased.

As most professional hotel operators would know, the first point of contact with guests (the check-in) is important to get right. So I was surprise to encounter a young lady at the Travel Lodge Docklands check in counter who was more interested in processing her admin than attending to me. Once she decided to acknowledge my presence, she barely spoke (only to ask for my ID), didn't smile once and then thrust the check in form at me with no verbal input. She either doesn't appreciate having a job or just doesn't give a cr@p. So while the rooms are clean and the location is convenient for my needs, poor staff training and management is holding this hotel back from achieving a better customer satisfaction rating.

Booked the Travelodge Dockland a day before-we got last min footy tickets.
Close to Southern Cross Station and very close Marvel.
The room was lovely and clean and had everything we needed.
I couldn't hear any road noise nice and quiet.
We had the buffet breakfast and paid at check-in for the discount rate-The 11am check out was great. Only complaint was the buffet only offered scrabbled eggs and not fried/poached.

It's a great location at a great price. Staff are helpful and friendly. Unfortunately, however, the housekeeping staff have either broken eyes or a broken vacuum cleaner as there is still debris on the floor from 4 days ago. Also the one day I went for breakfast, it was late opening, the beans were stone cold and the rest of the food was average ($25!!!!)

I recently had a 2 night stay for work purposes.

I am going to start with the negatives because there's not too many of them:

- Elevators were painfully slow
- Rooms are tiny
- Curtains in my room were difficult to close fully letting in some light.
- The vents in bathroom were that clogged with dust that the room steamed up pretty bad after a shower.
- The bed was two king singles joined together and not a king bed.

Now for the positives:

- Check-in was pleasant and easy.
- The staff were super amazing and answered all my questions and always smiled.
- The buffet breakfast was pretty decent (eggs, tomato's, bacon, fruits, cereals, juices, coffee, breads and goes on.
- Location is amazing. 5 minute walk to Southern Cross station and 6 minutes to the water or Marvel stadium. Nice cafes on next street over.
- For food shopping Southern Cross has Woolworths, again only 5 minutes away.
- Reception was always staffed.

Would I go back? For sure, I had a good night sleep and a good brekkie in the morning.

Excellent hotel, with great customer service from a very friendly, and accommodating staff. Mary, Raquel, and Sudikshya were all so very friendly and helpful during my stay. From assistance with maps and directions, to other recommendations for shopping and local food suggestions.

Rooms are nice, a little dated...but then again, so am I? The key thing for me on this trip was business and location, location, location...this hotel was perfect! It is centrally located with a less than 5 minute walk to the office, Southern Cross train and bus stations, Marvel Stadium, and shopping at the Spencer Outlet Center. As well, a plethora of several pubs and eateries, all of which there just was not enough time to try them all!

Stayed here for 3 nights.
Great location, easy to get into the CBD, Trains, Trams and busses.

Rooms are pretty standard studio sized. We had an interconnecting family room, so our toddler son could have his own room - child cot kindly provided. Rooms are clean, a bit dated. Bed is quite hard (for me) kitchen jug leaks.

Breakfast is alright, more worth it if you can get the 2 for 1 deal when staying 3 or more nights.

Only issue is that on our second night the whole hotel seemed to have NO hot water. Which isn't ideal and I believe compensation should be given as they aren't able to provide even the basic of hot water? On top of that they used the loud speaker in the rooms (which are very loud) at 8:50pm Twice, and woke our toddler up :( kinda want a hot shower after a day of exploring.

Spent a week at this hotel and would stay there again. Hotel is well positioned to the city and multiple modes of public transport. I want to give a big commendation to Vini at reception who was absolutely lovely and welcoming at check in and provided great local knowledge to us when we requested how to get to different places in Melbourne we wanted to visit.

Rooms were good size and clean. I would have scored 5 stars however we all found the showers a bit small and it would have been good to have smart TV to log in to streaming services. Apart from those small things the rooms are great.

We would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here for 4 nights. Very clean throughout. Friendly staff. You will need $5 each for the washing machine and dryer. Walk to shops or free tram. Parking in carpark behind Travelodge is $25 day or less if shorter time.

Great Hotel for a few reasons, just a little run down, and not that clean, beds were not great either. The location was the best part, 5 minutes from Southern Cross station, 10 minutes from Marvel stadium, and a short free tram ride to the heart of Melbourne's shopping district. Room was basic, the bathroom a bit mouldy and not that clean, tap handle in our shower fell off LoL, and the beds were hard, we sent a note with our booking that we wanted a double bed and a single, and we just got 3 singles. The view from the window was of a construction site, which we heard from early in the morning. The parking was good $25 per day easy access to the hotel and elevator. We will look for an alternative hotel next time we stay in the heart of Melbourne though.

After spending just under a week here, I was slightly disappointed.

While the staff were nice and the rooms were tidy on arrival, that's about as good as it got.

The restaurant was mediocre at best. Breakfast was plain, and dinners were bad. Myself and my party all started choosing to eat out, even though our food was included in the package.

The rooms lacked keeping up with the times. The TVs weren't smart and were locked into free to air only, and locked to only this.

The toilet was not cleaned once.

Nice clean friendly and a fast check out. Rooms were big enough and shower was hot.
Wasn't there for long just to sleep and shower after being out on the town but everything seemed good to me

Comfy and for the most part quiet (doors from other rooms start making noise around 6:30am). Pillows were not comfortable. The shower head was damaged so either sprayed your face whilst showering or sprayed the roof. You can see they have tried to fix it but they should just replace it. Parking was easy but I wouldn't want to be accessing it alone at night (it's not directly connected to hotel). Great accessible location. Check - in and check - out staff were lovely. I'd stay again but bring my own pillow and maybe a sturdy shower cap.

Travelodge Docklands does no frills hotel really well. Rooms are clean, sheets smell clean, they sell quick cheap eats in the lobby. They do basic no frills hotel at a 5 star quality for the services you get (no pool/gym room service). Big shout out to Mary on the front desk afternoon of 3 Aug, she was super busy but remained calm, polite and I felt a genuine warm welcome. Give her employee of the month!

I enjoyed staying here for the days I stayed at. it was only the problem when called to have a wake up called it didn't seem to worked at the phone in the room but when mentioned to the front desk it happened. beside that room was clean and tidy and just right enough to sleep and go out again. ???".

Firstly, I wanted to say thanks to reception who checked us in, arrived at 9am and they allowed us to have early check-in, having gone thru 6am flight from NSW to VIC, the early check-in was much appreciated.

The room is clean and spacious. Had 2 pillows per guest, cutleries/dishes/glasses with dish washing sponge, microwave. The working desk was very good and helped whenever I need to jump on the laptop.

Great location, 5 minute walk to the Southern Cross, take a short cut down the road towards the St. Brew location and take the lift to level 4 which the street level then you are 3 mins walk to the Southern Cross station

Quite nice, spacious room. View was nice. Bathroom was small. Location not the best- street leading up to entrance was dark and I would not feel safe walking to the hotel alone at night.

Lovely hotel, the room was very nice and neat. You are able to buy food and drinks from the service counter. The rooms are also very spacious and comfortable. The travel lodge is a definite choice when wanting to travel Melbourne as it's a 3 minute walk to a tram and practically right next to southern cross station. We stayed for 4 nights and we found it amazing. Sadly check in is at 3pm and we had an early flight in but they held our bags there while we shopped through the city.

Good value for no-frills hotel. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and the location and lobby are nice. The twin beds weren't very comfortable, however is okay for 2 nights. The bathroom was great, lots of counter space plus a long shelf running across it. The room is small, but fine if you're going to be out and about all day.

A simple, business style hotel in a great location (right next door to Southern Cross train station and 5 min walk from riverfront). Very quiet despite central location.

Polite, friendly staff. Smallish but comfortable rooms (beds, showers etc all good). Will happily stay there again on my next trip to Melbourne.

This is my second time at the Travelodge Dockland and the service and cleanliness has declined. The shampoo dispenser was full of water, they only replaced my bath towels not hand or face towels, didn't fix the bed, we were told we had to wash our own dishes in which there was no washing detergent in the room. We were told by the receptionist that we had to do our own cleaning. Definitely not worth the price we paid.

great central location near the station! the lobby looks amazing and refreshed! the actual room we stayed in was a little run down.. needing a good refresh and deep clean. super friendly and helpful staff. this was our 5th time staying there! so it was another pleasant experience :)

No frills modern hotel, something like you might expect to find at an airport. King size beds are exceptionally comfortable. Rooms are utilitarian and built to a price, but adequate none the less. Excellent location, right next to Southern Cross Station and agreed Marvel Stadium. Enter at ground level. Continental breakfast is got value.

Amazing location and immaculately clean rooms.
Some staff need to smile more, so the user feels more welcomed.

TV needs the movie function, seeing the remote is set up for it.

Stayed 5 nights for 3 , rm was too small
Carpet has stains, in some days room was not cleaned , there was a day only 2 towels was given , bag for bin only one was replaced
Used their laundry need to buy detergent and there was only one person at the reception
I have to wait very long before being attended
I cant imagine how long it took for the guy behind me who wanted to check in
On our final day we went out as early as 6am
Went back 4pm as we need to pack up for the next day flight. Room was not cleaned still i have to ring them again
Because we are too tired i just asked for new towels
Will not recommend to anyone!

Found a used band-aid in my shower and the water temperature varied depending on what guests around me were doing. Beds were hard, generic, king singles pushed together. Pillows were large and too soft to provide any support. Carpet was stained. Reading the highly-critical reviews I'm not sure how it still pulls a four star rating.

Stayed here for work and was very good. They have done a nice refresh of the property and very comfortable for the price. Great location in the central city with easy access to public transport. Carpet in the room was a little shot, but then again I don't tend to sleep on the carpet. All round a pleasant stay.

hotel was in a good spot so I chose it but was not impressed at all. Carpet had weird stains by the bed that looked like it could have done with a good scrub.
shower pressure was terrible - if they made it better people would probably not have to be in the shower so long trying to get soap / shampoo off.
weird thing at this hotel. Provided no hand wash. - instead had conditioner and body / hand lotion by the sink.
In the shower had Shampoo , Conditioner & Hand/Body Lotion. When we asked housekeeping, they nodded and said they would fix but they came and looked at it while we were gone and replaced nothing - seemingly assuming that it was all okay.

We asked for shower gel / body wash and hand wash and got given a small shower gel and a hand towel. Very strange. Anyway, we won't be back. With that level of attention to basic details, I'm doubtful how much effort they put into actual cleaning considering no one knew what hand wash was.

Location was the only good thing

Close to the city and a great location! All staff were super friendly and helpful! The room was very...lacklustre. the fridge was EXTREMELY musty but luckily air freshing spray was provided so an easy fix. Room was very clean! "Air con" wasn't really adjustable but we were never uncomfortable. Overall very recommended and great price!

Beds were comfy and nice modern facilities.
Major down point is the bathroom was filthy. Dust all over the bench and sink from the air vent shower not cleaned. Toilet not cleaned gave everything a wipe over when we arrived and it was okay.
Great central location.
Parking was $50 for the two nights and a $50 bond to be paid which neither revised at time of booking so not impressed by this.

I come down to Melbourne about 6 times a year to watch the AFL and I stay here every single time. Such a nice hotel and the beds are so comfortable and the linen is super fresh. Just a really reliable place.
