Just held an event here. Staff and food were exceptional. Couldn't recommend this place more. Perfect view of the city. Food was very reasonably price with excellent quality. Thanks for having us the Toxteth

Went out for dinner and decided to try the daily special which today was the beef with butter and shoestring fries. Also ordered the schnitzel. The food was excellent and perfectly cooked. Even though the beef only offered the options of pink or well done, it suited my preferences. The seating arrangement and layout were impressive, and the venue was spacious. The customer service was outstanding and very friendly. Although there was a QR system in place, it was not possible to order using it, which was anticlimatic. Once the QR ordering system is enabled, I would rate the experience a 5. In my view, this system saves a lot of time and reduces the long queues at the bar. I actually don't think I've been to any pubs as of late which didn't offer a QR ordering facility.

Incredible bottomless brunch on a Sunday! Massive range in food and drink options for a very reasonable price. Our server Joel was wonderfully attentive.

The Tokkie has been our closest pub for decades...but it isn't our local which kind of says something. The food has been hit and miss over the years and the beer selection is avarage at best. However, like moths to a flame, we keep coming back...and like those moths, sometimes we get burnt. Last night was one of those nights.
The entree special was three oysters with a sauce on the side. Despite the fish markets being a stroll away the oysters that came out we of incredibly poor quality and dubious freshness. The dipping sauce on the side was pretty much red wine vinegar. I advised the manager at the bar about the sketchy oysters and to her credit she not only gave a refund but stopped any more of those oyster plates from leaving the kitchen.
OK, on to the mains. The steak sandwich wasn't as good as usual (the tomato relish was missing) and the chicken shnitty was the worst we'd ever tried...approx 3 mm thick chicken with a heavy oily crumb...with a salad of leaf and dressing (the least you can do). If you want a sauce with your $27 schnitty it costs extra. On the bright side the chips were great.
We should have stuck with our usual order of KFC calamari and steak sandwich but then again we shouldn't be punished with terrible food when exploring the menu.
The garden bar is a lovely place to sit and we keep hoping the kitchen returns to the glory days of old but after last night it will be a while before we stop in again.

I had a water and watched sport. Did not get asked to buy anything which was nice. Therefore my ratings are based purely on what I saw and noticed as I didn't buy food or drink. Seems like a good pub with a nice atmosphere. If you don't want to lose your seat, you can order from your table via a QR code.

Too bad the kitchen under renovation so food selection pretty limited. Burger was good, chips crispy & tasty. Chicken parma too burnt, chicken wings too spicy. It was too crowded during our visit, can't really enjoy the night.

Great atmosphere with clean, modern decor. Food options are typical for a pub - tasty enough but mostly all are fried & bulked up with a large serve of fries. Side salads were lacking variety & could do with chef made dressings.

Big place. Pretty good drink selection. Food is very tasty but on the expensive side.
I had the popcorn cauliflower and enjoyed it. The halloumi fries were a bit soggy.
Steaks looked amazing.

Very pleasant environment for a group of old friends to hang out. Clean for a pub. The food had a relatively high menu price, but their portions are huge. Our group had a steak sandwich, chicken parmi, fried cauliflower, chips, and fried halloumi. They are all very tasty pub fare and very generous in their portion. We will definitely be back.

First time in a while I visited here and the food was fantastic. I ordered the popcorn cauliflower and two cheese risotto. Both very good. This pub also has a large menu with all the classics plus plenty of vego/vegan options.

A great local pub with a varied selection of food and drinks in a pleasant atmosphere.

Enjoyed the (un-publike) Ramen Bowl with Chicken. Maybe the Chicken Schnitzel next time :-)

Great atmosphere, pretty large so can find quiet spots to relax. Great front seating and a wonderful back patio section. Staff were great and the snitty was massive and really good especially for the price. Lots of different events throughout the week and never seems empty. Locals love it but worth the visit if you're not!

A large and very popular pub with lots of different spaces to eat in. Polite, informative and hard working staff. We had the steak which was cooked to perfection and the gyros with Greek flavoured lamb and warm soft pita. Delicious!
Definitely recommend The Toxteth for any meal including family kids meals. My only negative is that dogs are allowed in all the spaces, even the carpeted room, hence 4 stars instead of 5.

Food is quite basic, but expensive ??'? no lunch specials at all.
Beers also expensive at $8 a schooner for vb and northern.
Note to management- half your meal size and knock $10 off the price, noone wants 2 x pieces of schnitzel for lunch.

Exy food for what it is however the boys loved their burgers, the haloumi fries were delicious & the salt n pepper squid exceptional. A good spot for people watching for a long and lazy lunch.

Excellent food. $15 lunch is amazing value! The staff are excellent & the female manager there yesterday lunch time at the main bar does a great job. They are also doing a great job seeing that people check-in for covid check-in etc .. ??'??

I regretfully give this rating as the pub has a lovely interior and customer vibe, however was very disappointed. The bar staff member we ordered drinks from was unfriendly and unaccommodating, the sweet chilly and the mushroom sauces were both watery liquids rather than sauces, the parmigiana did not have ham and we were charged $2 for a sauce refill which seems excessive.

Pretty standard pub. Friendly staff and a nice venue. Could do with a bigger selection of beers

Went here for a friends birthday recently. Had a great time.
Great atmosphere and really good food. Not to mention great value. Staff are lovely and welcoming.

Too many dogs inside the dining area. A large dog was barking, a smaller dog was almost up on a table. I was left wondering how many dogs the hotel allows in the dining area. Tables were not being cleaned. Once the football was over the music was so loud we could not talk to each other. Fish and chips is great value, the side order of salad for the steaks is very small and consist of green leaves not much else.
