Came back to port to catch up with some mates. Chucked some money on the tab.. then they closed the tab without telling anyone at 8pm, then wouldnt let us cash out our tickets?!?
How can a business close the tab machine and still service pizza's? Poor comms

Food was amazing.. fresh fast and very tasty.. extremely well priced and every single staff member was polite and friendly both times we have been there.. will definitely be a regular well worth the 30 minute drive north from home to get there

Great food. Steak is always cooked to perfection as ordered. Great customer service. Never had any trouble finding a car park. Great for families with a large inside playground that is conveniently at the end of a separate room to allow you to eat and keep your eyes on the kids without disturbing other patrons who don't want to see screaming children ?

Dropped in for a quick bite. It looks and feels like a cool little local for the people at Port Macquarie. There's a lot of staff around so you can tell the service is good. It has everything that you expect from a Tavern, such an outdoor music area with DJ, a good variety of food on the menu...a few pool tables and it has a good family vibe to the place. Not sure how it is at night. Otherwise it's a nice place to drop in.

Oktoberfest was in full swing.
Staff dressed in appropriate style.
Menu written in German, with all German fare including Nona's Apple Strudel
Food was delicious, and served quickly.
Absolutely loved our afternoon @ this venue.

The food was exceptional, delivered within 10 minutes and service was impeccable!

The pub has been renovated, seperate areas for several different functions at once, GREAT food-I just ordered "fish n chips", what I got was BARRAMUNDI, plain cooked like no batter or crumbs, just this beautiful flavour, and basic F n C charge.
I WILL RETURN.

Pretty expensive in general for the local pub. No chalk for pool tables. Nice new decor and occasional live music.

Not enough tables. All the tables were reserved but VERY spaced out. Could do with more smaller tables. Food took about 45ish mins to come out after ordering and then was just average when it came out. Probs won't be back, cheaper and better places elsewhere with tables

Great location, staff, pricing & atmosphere. Didn't eat here & was just a little disappointed about not having any chalk available for the pool tables.

Went there for some dinner with Family. Was a fan of the pizza that I had gotten and really has stepped up in quality since the re-model. Service is always good although sometimes the loud music can be overwhelming but that is just me. They also have very good live music and hold good events for sports when they're on.

Highly recommend for lunch or dinner

A nice atmosphere. Loved the patio. Very busy when we were there, being Easter long weekend, and staff were under the pump but they did well. Our food took a while but understandable, but when it did come it was very nice. Steaks were perfect and grilled kingfish very flavourful. The portobello mushrooms were great too. Prices were above average for the meals. We would go back again.

Got asked by 5 staff members within 5 minutes if I needed any help - after ordering. Means they really wanna help ?
But besides that, great place. Great location. Great vibes.

What a buzzy place. It was very busy. To be expected as it was Friday. However, we all know the cost of everything has gone up. But when one of our table of four ordered a rare steak and it came out at medium, I question that. It was $31.00 for a 250gm steak. This works out to be $124.00 a kilo. Restaurants need to deliver what they are offering to justify their costs by at least sending out what is ordered, as we now all have to pay big time. Not all of us can afford to do this on a regular basis. So hospitality pull your socks up please

Didn't go before. New owner now so happy to go have a beer. Live music on Saturdays and Sundays. A little pricey but where isn't now! Great food. Great staff.

First time to dine here, from the moment you walk in you will be assisted by the wait staff on your designated reserved table, staffs are very accommodating, I had MASSIVE steak and it is perfectly cooked I enjoyed every single bite of it, my daughter loves the grilled chicken burger. considering the quality the price is reasonable i might say.

Use to be good, but the last 3 times we have been have waited over an hour for 4 meals, mid week, not even busy. 2 times we received 3 out of the 4 meals while the fourth sits under the heat lamps for ages until we go and ask for it. (3 x staff members were standing with their backs to the lamps talking for ages while the last meal just sat there) not sure what's going on but seems like something needs to change. Would understand an hour wait if it was the weekend or school holidays but mid week shouldn't take an hour. Food is ok but not brilliant for the price. Would love to see you guys fix it because we love going there.

Great pub, great children's play area. Very busy on Sunday lunch so searing was difficult if you hadn't booked. Refent rain didn't help as most outdoor seating options were unable to be used. Good food options and friendly staff

The food was really good for pub grub. Unfortunately the bartender forgot our drinks and we waited quite some time for them before getting a refund but they were busy and management was quite apologetic

Lovely pizza and carbonara.($52+card fees)
There are lunch specials but you'll have to seek them out.
Wine was the only disappointment. $38 for the cheapest Chardonnay available that retails at $13. Most wines over $40.
The venue itself is very nice. Plenty of space and a couple of nice gas fires.
We'll go again but will look for the lunch specials.

We have eaten here regularly since moving to the area a year ago. Great food at reasonable prices; safe, friendly atmosphere and, consistently excellent service. Highly recommended.

Plenty of space with a sports bar, bistro and outdoor area. A good range of drinks and nice food too. Overall solid pub experience.

Aaaaaaamazing food! Crispy chips, tender steak, tomato relish on steak sandwich was Smoky with a little spice, pepperoni pizza had a fantastic base with the right amount of kick, juicy fish with delicious tartare. Staff were incredibly friendly all round. Can't complain about any aspect!

Which I find remarkable in this day and age?

Up here on holiday and leaving tomorrow. Last stop for dinner tonight. Tried every pub in town and this is the best. Venue beautiful. Only thing we don't understand and it must be a nsw thing. No one greats you and seats you at any pub. Hard to find your table when you book. You loose a star for this and this alone. Hospitality and you can do a whole dinner without talking to anyone.

The bottle shop at Tacking Point Tavern is seriously the best. I was blown away by the huge variety of products stocked in there. We ended up making about three separate purchases as we kept seeing more good things to get. Including the magnum of Rose on the way out the door! Definitely going to be my bottle shop of choice every time I'm in Port.
