The swordfish skewers & fresh rocker fennel salad were the best swordfish I've had in a long long time. Hummus yum!!! This would have been a 3 of the beer taps were out. Except for the very very cheery service from the brunette with the bright blue eyes and smiles. Great to experience good hospitality service.

Very good food choices at The Sussex Hotel in Sydney CBD, close to Wynyard Train Station.
Pub food downstairs and excellent Thai food upstairs and a rooftop bar.
I ear often here, great burgers, schinttys and the Thai food is authentic Thai. Yummy

Tried their fish and chips. It was quite fresh and tasty but quantity wise not very generous. Lots of items to try if you're just there for a few drinks with friends or colleagues.
Just a note to halal consumers.. the meat isn't halal.

On a chilly day, there's nothing more comforting than sinking my teeth into a warm and delicious lamb pie from the Sussex Hotel. The flaky crust, tender meat, and rich flavors create a cozy culinary experience that instantly warms my soul. Pure bliss in every bite! First time here and I really enjoyed.

Good fish and chips. With a soft drink the bill came to $31. Here for team lunch so it's ok.

Lovely atmosphere for some good drinks after a hectic office day. Very friendly staffs. The rooftop is absolutely stunning with great views! However the heat can be pretty annoying up there during the day.

Staff are rude and inappropriate. Was trying to order drinks and had to listen to two girls behind the bar moan and whine very loudly about how bad the management team is. The girls were basically screaming at each other and being very aggressive towards each other and when making drinks they throwing cups and bottles around.

This behaviour reflects poorly on the staff management and the business.

Overall this place just needs to be better. Very very poor.

We had drinks for a group of about 10-15 on the rooftop, and had a really great time! The rooftop is such a great spot nestled amongst all the tall buildings, the drinks were good, staff all great and friendly, and a really good vibe!

We had lunch yesterday at the newly opened roof top bar, what a great addition to the city. Very popular with all tables booked but our share plate came out quickly and was enjoyable, the staff were warm and welcoming. The whole hotel is looking great after the refurbishment and the roof top bar had a great vibe. We will definitely be returning!

Classic old style city hotel but with a nice Asian menu, good service and a good vibe.

The Sussex Hotel is popular with the office crowds. Grab some pub grub from the ground floor and sit in the beer garden or head upstairs for some Thai food ina freshened up dining room.

The pub food is standard stuff, not amazing but also not terrible. My steak sandwich was satisfying despite being past medium-rare and I appreciated them swapping the fries for salad. Food took awhile to come out as the place was full.

The Thai food was also decent for this part of town. Would've liked a bit more chilli heat and less sweetness in the chicken basil but I'd still return to try other dishes. The stirfrys and curries include a small bowl of rice.

Very welcoming and friendly staff, however food took way too long to get sent out. Like even during lunch service I don't think a 30min plus wait for steak is normal. TBH, I've never waited that long for food...... anywhere! Steak was perfectly cooked although under-seasoned ... the same as the schnitzel. The coleslaw tasted like it had no sauce mixed in whatsoever. I feel like they forgot the steak but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt (that it was busy). By the time I went to enquire about the steak pretty much all the seats inside were available, whereas when we first arrived there were no seats left. I actually wouldn't of cared as much if we weren't sitting outdoors with arctic weather conditions.

Looks great after the refurb. Decent beers on tap, friendly staff and good pub menu. Didn't check out upstairs or the roof terrace but the whole place had a really good after work vibe.

Really nice to be sat outside on the street too, felt quite European.

Great location next to Barrangaroo and if you fancy kicking on there are plenty of options on the waterfront.

Will be back.

For a 10hour brisket was average I cook brisket on my Traeger and it is heaps better. The sausage was amazing so were the prawns, the red wine service sensational. We came for bbq but got a great experience its pretty bad when your brisket is not so great

It's a solid, proper pub. Good beers on tap, serviceable food (nothing to write home about), and the atmosphere is great for conversations. The most you could ask for out of a pub.

Good place for lunch.Ive been here a couple of times and like the vibe. Its not too busy, the food is tasty (Asian/Thai) and the price reasonable for the portions. We ordered different dishes and they were all very good.

Captain Atom Man loves this pub, especially how you can enter on one level, and exit on another. Oh, the beer garden is great, as are the beers. Love it,

Good venue even in cold weather they have heaters and stuff outside so it's quite pleasant. They lost a star because they had no dark beer on tap and the server knew sweet F/all about the beers they had. Otherwise I couldn't fault it.
