It's been 15 years since I been to the summerset hotel. They do lunch and dinner in the side bar quite nice. Food was fantastic, service good. They had small bay Mary nice hot vegetables.

I recently went to The Somerset for the first time and was really impressed by what a great evening the three of us had. The staff we dealt with were young, but very friendly and welcoming and made the dinning experience thoroughly enjoyable. They were never far away when needed, but didn't hover or over service.
The vibe was loud and bustling (we sat in the restaurant area) but we could easily hold a conversation without needing to raise our voices. The food was delicious with generous portions and whoever was in the kitchen working their magic the night we went, was delivering a higher standard than any of us expected.
The favourites for the night were the apple and pork schnitzel, and the arancini balls, which had a nap sauce I'm still dreaming about! It was a great pub meal, and I have no hesitation recommending it, and will certainly be back myself in the near future.

Don't waste your time. Go elsewhere.
I waited an hour to get lunch on a Wednesday afternoon.
After an hour my roast arrived and i couldn't even share it with my toddler because it had hardly any meat.mostly fat.
I took it back and i explained to the staff member my dissatisfaction.
Staff member and manager did not take any responsibility of the service failure and keep telling me that the food was fine.
I did not get any apologies or food replacement .
People with no customer service shouldn't work in retail.
Worst place ever.

The food came out quickly & there was lots of it.
Took some time to find a staff member to be seated. Every table has reserved on it even though they weren't reserved for anyone.

Don't come here. Unless the management actually steps up their game on how staff should act towards patrons I really wouldn't recommend it.
Called up and made a booking. Tried to find staff for a solid 10 minutes before finally finding someone to speak to to ask where our table was.
The staff member told us that our booking got cancelled and thought we were joking.
I don't know what about calling up politely to make a booking then showing up exactly on time for this booking is cause for thinking it was a prank call and cancelling our booking ( we booked 15 minutes prior to arriving so not like it was a long time they waited or anything)

Apparently this place must of changed management bevause our friends said it was great before.
Certainly isn't now.

Review card on the table from previous people that sat there. With a negative experience being written down also.

Up your game. Cause this type of service was absolutely not it.

Left before bothering to order food. So can't comment on the quality but the review card sat on our table said they waited an hour for dessert. Their food took 45 minutes and wasn't good food so we left

All in all. I wouldn't bother currently visiting the restaurant at least I'm not sure about other areas of this place. But I certainly won't be back.

This place has gone under. The food always takes time to come out even though we were the only people in the beer garden 40 minutes for pizza and a schnitzel? The side salad was gone soggy as it was likely saved from lunch,spinach and garnish lettuce, it was awful . The wings were Luke warm cause they are pre cooked, which I understand but at least heat up.
Won't be returning.

I'm disappointed in my lunchtime meal as was my husband.
My Thai beef salad was gristley, the beef strips were not tender, and it was overly salty, as was my husbands ribs and wings dish. The wings were covered in what should have been a crispy golden coating, but it was not. The chicken coating was pale in colour, and the flesh did not fall off the bone tender as expected from a dish like this. If this was my first time here, I would not return, but I have had good to great dinner meals in the past.

Saturday night, they lost my booking for 3 for dinner in the bistro and had to sit in the worst booth in the beer garden freezing cold even with the tiny overhead gas heater. The barmen made me the worst soda, lime and bitters l've ever had.
The meal was ok thankfully and the young lady who brought our food was delightfully.

This pub is nothing short of amazing, their portions are incredible and staff are so friendly. My little brother is autistic and has ADHD, Georgiah never fails to make him happy with her authentic and bubbly personality, she is so kind to him. He loves her company, not only that but all of the staff here are so friendly and welcoming. I work in hospitality myself and the energy all of the staff give off is incredible. Friday nights with the raffles is the absolute best! We come down every bi-weekly Friday and have the time of our lives. This is SO much fun and is such a good idea. Will be back here many many times again.

Very friendly staff and good food

Can't complain about our food and service. It's been a couple months since our last visit. We were surprised about the large amount of people enjoying the space.
We planned to settle in and then the raffles started. Our food arrived and we were bombarded with the screech of ticket announcement one after another for 30 mins. It was still going when we left.

If there is any way possible to tone down the microphone or the person using it would be my suggestion. We would've stayed for a bigger session otherwise.

Booked for 45 people all over 70.yoa. told we can have the mini bar in function room and would be staffed for us. On day they had it closed. had to walk quite a distance everytime we wanted a drink. or coffee. Few had walking sticks so very difficult doing this. we had to walk through function room. down passage to other lounge area to get any veg or salad from their salad bar to go with our meals. My chicken meal was overcooked and cooked in oil that fish was previously cooked in. 3 others had chicken and overcooked and dry. 1 had pork that you could not cut with a knife. Told staff- they said, will tell chef. Nobody came back to replace meal or talk to us. Very disappointed in the day there for lunch. Booked it in 2 months prior. Will definitely not take a group back there again. and to top it all off. One male staff member came to each table and talked to us like we were children on how to read the table number. and how to order our meal using the table number - he done this on each of the 5 tables we had booked. and quite loud as well.

We have been going to our local hotel for years now and service and quality of food has been so bad we decided to try the Somerset hotel. Well two weeks in a row we have been now and wow the food quality, value for money and the staff are amazing. Always asking if we enjoyed our meal and never leaving dirty dishes on the table . Staff are so friendly. I want to give a special shout out to the chef our meals were Devine . We will be making this our local hotel for lunches from now on.

I was part of a large gathering for lunchtime. I must say the food was excellent, fresh & hot as was all of the guests. The service we had was also excellent & very friendly. The room we were in was clean & well kept. The outside of the hotel was also very well kept. Overall, it was a gr8 experience. Well done, Somerset Hotel. Highly recommend your establishment.

Ordered steak with vegetables and mushroom gravy charged $4.00 for very small bowl of vegetables. Heap of chips and non edible salad. All absolutely cold

Wonderful since the updating of the outdoor area. The only fault I can make is that the bands are simply too loud too early. There's no phase out between dinner and band. I'm all for concerts and loud gigs, but this place is truly excessive.

The kitchen here is a real hidden gem. I've had a Chicken Parmigiana there 3 times in the last two weeks and it's been flawless every time. I've wanted to try something different but it's so good I can't bring myself to order anything else. This place has genuinely good food and great staff. Looking forward to my next visit.

Nice enough place . Good machines some staff very very good friendly . Don't leave anything out of your site you value , & main beef is they tend to close earlier than advertised , if not busy. Understandable . But when you go all the way there cause you want to sneak in 40 mins of gaming. Before they close & get there and they are closed or closing early, it's not very good . A really nice pub, good decor. I didn't eat there but the food looked awesome. Under cover beer garden with a smoking area close by. Drinks 50c cheaper than most pubs. An enjoyable experience and I want to go back and see if the food tastes as good as it looks 😋

Absolutely disgusting. Found a long hair in the food that actually came out of my husband's mouth that nearly made him sick and the manager declined to do anything about it because most of it was eaten. What?!? NEVER coming back in and recommend others to not either. Terrible. Gross. Bad handling of the situation. Zero empathy and respect for customer complaints and was told they wouldn't care if we left a review.

I have had some good meals at the Somerset but not tonight! My partner and I had the slow cooked pork belly. Hers was great. Mine was awful. It was about 70% fat compared to my partners 10%. But what was worse was the totally dismissive attitude of the staff. Total waste of money. I cannot recommend this place.

Had the pork tomahawk steak tonight and it was excellent, fingers crossed I win the bbq that you go into the draw to win when you purchase it. Well worth the money. And the pancake stack was amazing also. Will definitely be bringing the family back here

Long standing local community Hotel that has the usual Hotel facilities including Gaming, Sports Bar, Inside and Garden dining areas, long with a good sized Function Room. God's selection of food and beverage on the Menu

This is such a nice pub. The food is great and well priced too. The staff are really friendly.

Great little pub for a family dinner. Even accommodates vegans if asked with no problems. Friendly staff with a welcoming and warm atmosphere. Big meal sizes and great value for money.

The Somerset has been my local venue for the last 4+ years and I have only now bothered to leave a review. Specifically for the Garden Bar due to it's terrific spacious layout and outdoor garden like booths. The food is what I would expect from most pubs like this, if not a better (maybe bias).

Mostly the staff are so wonderful, kind, and attend to every one of your needs without complaint. I'd specifically like to shout out Anna for her A+ smile and conversation. We also had a great chat about Magpies!

Go to the Somerset, get blind off their cocktails and enjoy a coffee later? 10/10 recommend.

Went to the Somerset tonight with my wife and 2 kids. We both ordered the chicken schnitzel and the kids had their meal of chicken schnitzel with a glass of apple juice. The servings were generous and the meals were delicious. We found out that they crumb their own schnitzel. The staff here were so friendly and even took the time to talk to our kids. They even checked to ensure that we were happy with our meals. We couldn't fault anything. The meals were fantastic and the service was excellent. A special mention must go out to Michelle the head chef and to Gary who made us an outstanding dessert. He made us the biggest icecream sundae I have ever seen. This will definitely be our go to restaurant from now on. If you haven't tried it, do yourself a favour and go by and have a meal.

Wow! The revamped Somerset Hotel is a stunning place to enjoy a meal or drinks with friends. The ambience is excellent, the food is outstanding and the service is wonderful! In fact it is so good that our dining group has gone there two Fridays in a row.

This superb Hotel took us by surprise. We weren't expecting search quality. The noise level is low which allows us to freely communicate with each other. Multiple TV screens allow patrons to watch a variety of sports and entertainment during their time there.

The quality of the food, right from the chips to the steaks, fish and chicken meals is outstanding. The prices are very reasonable and the service is great. Our group now intends to make this hotel our main dining focus during the rest of the year.

The hotel also has a range of food & drink specials during the week and also happy hours. Schnitzel night and pizza night offer great value. Currently this is the number one hotel that we have come across in all of our dining travels!
