Jig Mischief

Upon arrival staff were unsure whether they were able to even seat us- a table for two, which took me back a bit as I had observed a large dining area with very few patrons.
I advised the staff it was my birthday and I was ravenous, could they please accommodate us, at which point they seated us on barstools near the doorway, where we had cold gusts of wind blow in the door with the foot traffic every thirty seconds for the duration of our meal.
We could clearly see half a dozen actual seated tables that remained empty for the duration of our meal, but were not made available or offered to us.. instead we were offered barstools in an alley way entrance, which truly made me feel like a less than valued customer. It wouldn't have taken any effort to seat me at a table for my birthday steak, but instead it felt like a pointed effort to make me uncomfortable, and shuffle me on as quickly as possible.
The meals were sadly quite unimpressive.. my porterhouse was cooked perfectly, however a rather miserly portion for a birthday steak, and the chips and slaw that was supposed to come with all items from the grill turned out to be just a bed of chips with no slaw in sight.
If you want a decent value meal with great atmosphere, you will not find it at Shoreline Hotel.
Management response claimed my untouched steak was half eaten, which it wasn't, picture is of untouched plate.
Also claimed I asked for no slaw, but my date and I both remember clearly asking for chips AND slaw.
This dive has failed miserably in my estimations, both in service and in their sarcastic and unrepentant response.. humility goes a long way in customer service and so does an apology, but only someone trained in being hospitable would know that.
I will now go out of my way to tell people about my less than average experience here.
