Having visited the roundabout Inn in Gloucester for lunch today I have to say we were extremely disappointed. They say they have featured in the SMH good pub food for the last 3 years but I can only assume that is as a place to avoid. The food was below average, the pizza was a shop base with sauce from a jar and no cheese. The fish was cooked well but the portions were small (about 10 chips). Overpriced and basic. Will not return.

Great Pub !!!! Friendly and fast service at the bar and kitchen, fantastic meals, well priced and large serves. My favourite are the crumbed lamb cutlets. Yummo

We took a group of 16 here for dinner , the place was absolutely packed with people on a friday night.
The bar and restaurant staff all need a huge congratulations the service and speed was amazing.
Could not believe the speed and quality of the meals considering the amount of people.
Well done team and congratulations to the owners.

This is the perfect place for Motorcyclists to stay. The rooms are small and perhaps a squash for a couple but they are clean, warm in winter and cheap with ensuite bathrooms too. The pub and hotel rooms are right in the centre of town and the pub is the place to go for dinner in the evening with great meals. There is a lockup garage for motorcycles too for peace of mind. We will be back!!!

Was very impressed with the drink selection and the food. Waited only 20 mins or so during a busy lunch. Food was better than expected. Staff were very accommodating. Would definitely return.

Ticked all the country pub requirements: friendly staff, comfortable seating, some decent drinks specials, and -- in our experience, at least -- decent pub food. One of the better schnitzels I've had on my 2023 World Tour Of Australian Pub Schnitzels. I think I first stopped in here in the '90s. It's still good, as country pubs go.

Pro-tip: a frog came to visit us at the outdoor tables; maybe the staff were bluffing, maybe he isn't really a regular, but whatever you do DON'T STEP ON THE FROG.

Just had a fabulous meal at the Roundabout Inn. Staff were great, food was fabulous. Their was eight of us & everyone enjoyed their meal. I had the steak with prawn topper, with a side of chips & salad. Highly recommend.

The food was overly disappointing. Ordered the pasta, which was no more than plane fettuccine with a little oil and chili breadcrumbs. Took that back for the service attendant to argue with me that it was a vegetarian option with an oil. Translated that to dry fettuccine with chili breadcrumbs.
Another manager/chef was called to apologize and proceed to charge an excessive amount for the replacement steak.
Both steaks were overcooked, despite me ordering rare instead of medium anticipating it would be overcooked.
So for the price I would pay for an inner city restaurant meal we got an overcooked meal that meant my wife waited 30min to get her replacement meal so she didn't have to eat the dry plain pasta.
Note: the only reason we went to this establishment was because the other place was closed.
I recommend going anywhere but here.

Didn't use accomodation just restaurant. Been lots of times with no problem and food good. In 18 months of going here we've never seen a dog there! Had visitors from overseas so booked a table outside and family turned up with a medium sized dog, next table, all it did was bark when a family member moved. Lady apologised but partner couldn't care less. Staff should have said something. Had I known dogs were allowed we wouldn't have bothered!

It took the kitchen 45 minutes to make 3 meals late on a Wednesday for lunch.
The foor in the restaurant is damaged and moves our chairs when people walk past the table. Sold out items not removed from the menu, causing a further delay to meals being ordered.
This once was to be a great place to eat.

Nice spot but not family friendly.

We held a wake here for our grandmother's passing. The night before and the night of the wake the staff here seemed to get constantly annoyed with children running around. This of course is fair enough, but I would probably recommend you go elsewhere if you have a young family.

Ordered 2 meals at 7pm was given a buzzer to collect meals. Buzzer had not gone off for over 1 hour. Waited for food before staff came out to check number. Realised the buzzer had failed. Meals had been sitting on the counter for over 20mins. Advised staff from this observation.
Noted the meals were re heated not a new meal. Despite being told that this would happen.
Partner was then served a chicken schnitzel with cold chips. Not the original chicken parmigiana that was ordered.
For someone trying to actively avoid potential food derived illnesses due to pregnancy, the overall situation is rather a large disappointment. Won't be going here again in the future.

Outstanding service from bar staff and amazing views from the front outdoor area. Food is amazing, however sitting in the bistro area can be loud due to music coming from kitchen or the chef randomly yelling out wooooo as walking through bistro area. A bit strange. But overall a great little pub!!

Well located on the main street of Gloucester, the pub has a very open and welcoming feel, meals were generous and well above pub food.
Our table had Garlic king prawn on risotto, 300gr scotch fillet and chicken schnitzel.
All meals were cooked presented well, we were there on a busy Friday night and service was fast and more the happy.
We are not locals but we have visited Gloucester dozens of times for work and leisure, the Round About is a cut above.
Great food, happy service I. A warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Lunch wait nearly 1.5 hours! Thus is appalling! Poor service and time management. The wait for was for salt & pepper squid, which in reality would take 3 minutes to cook. My group of 7 only 2 people had their meal served in just under an hour.

The schnitzel was very dry and the gravy tasted weird it tasted like mayonnaise. They didn't give enough gravy so we went and got more but they had none. So therefore the schnitzel was dry not enough gravy and it tasted funny

If I could give this joint a O I would, because I am not giving it a 1 star. Am totally discussed as I rang 3 weeks ago to book a room for the weekend and was told everything done, so 2 weeks later I called to find out what time I could book in to then find out I didn't even have a room. The man I spoke to on the weekend was going to call me back after his lunch break so here it is Thursday and still no call ,maybe he had a long lunch break or just very rude.i wish I had read the reviews first before I even book. Because you can cover anything up with a slap of paint .very discussed with the service

$15 steak is good value, but overcooked (advertised as medium but came out closer to well done). Good range of local/independent beers on tap. A little annoying that there are no paper menus only a blackboard. Kitchen closes fairly early.

The staff was rude and lacked communication. Everyone in the kitchen seemed irritable and annoyed. The food was simple, veggies wasn't cooked through. The staff need to fix their attitude when dealing with their customers , if you don't like dealing with customers QUIT, it's that simple! All in all , the disgusting customer service ruined the night, to the point we felt like we had to blow the birthday cake elsewhere. It's that bad, Don't bother going here, not worth your time n money !

Food was made by 5yr olds so I got what only a 5yr old would eat, trash costumer service no communication skills whatsoever even if it smacked them right in the face! Just incapable of any skills..if it wasn't for the beers I would of left with depression

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. Dined here with my family and from beginning to end, it was a horrid experience. The staff was not welcoming at all and seemed annoyed to take down our orders. There was a particular staff member, a girl with dark hair and glasses, who was just horrible. No greeting, rude tone and overall just disgusting customer service from her. I asked a simple question, in which she didn't even answer and replied to me as if I was a child. On top of the atrocious customer service was the food to match. Basic and tasted like microwaveable food ? Save your money and eat elsewhere.

Great food and great atmosphere. I recommend making a reservation if you'd like an inside table! It was completely booked when we went on a Friday night!

Had dinner here. Food was nice just small details made it average. Amazing crumbed lamb chops - but uncooked vege. Nice schnitzels- but covered in gravy making them soggy and the slaw had no dressing. Pizzas are great. Gets very busy at 6pm. Nice and warm by the fireplace.

Great outback inn, pleanty off room cool inside great meals. Cool / frosty beers I recommend a superb lunch stop for all travellers. Positioned at the outer edge of town so easy to park and not crowded.

It's a good stop for a few beers. They have six taps for local beer and reasonably priced pub food.

Modern pub in the centre of town. Had a standard pub fare menu as well as a pizza menu and a good selection of beers. We arrived about 6.45pm and it was fairly busy. Unfortunately the wait time was nearly an hour, which is understandable but some some communication about it would have been appreciated. When they arrived meals were a good size and reasonably priced.
